Calculate Change In Position For Easing Without Knowing Distance To Travel?

In all the easing functions (based on Robert Penner), I see that they require the distance to travel to be known beforehand. But what if I didn't know that? How would I calculate the change to position based on easing my speed to zero if I know my current speed?
In other words, I know my start position, my current speed and the duration. I want to figure out the change in position (for each step and total change).

Do you know how to calculate position of image to move it to vertical center of screen? I mean especially the general problem of scrolling. The image doesn't change its absolute position, but when user scrolls or views a page with images, so he sees how the image gets more and more close to the top edge of screen, till the distance is 0. And now imagine the image is positioned absolute, 1000 from top. And on the screen it is at the position 0. How can I calculate its position from the top of screen?

I have an application where the user loads graphics from another site.
Presently I advise the user to wait for graphics to load before
clicking on adjustments. Ideally, I would prefer a closed-loop approach
where code would recognize completion of loading and automatically
enable the adjustments.

I have a calendar inside a div on my webpage which will show /hide when
user click a button. but the button is almost at the bottom of my
webpage, I am using position :absolute for the div so everytime when
the div shows, it will "drop down" cause the vertical scroll bar
appears on web browser and the user have to scroll down to see the
whole calendar. I was trying to change the div position (e.g if it is
near the bottom of webbrowser then "drop-up") when the div is showing.
My question is How can I know its position is near the bottom of web browser? (how can
I know the height of the browser) How can I change the position of this div?

Iwas wondering how is this easing added to the browser scrollbar.[URL].. This something that I would like to implement on my website. Is this an adapted scrollTo script? I imagine a function storing a current Y & new Y position on the fly as against a fixedvalue scrollTo.In my search I had a play with the jquery drag and drop,but I couldonly implement this effect witha div and notwith the scroller.Actually writing the script is beyond me at the moment, I have found no examples in a four day search. I hope someone can help me out in some way at the home of jquery.

I've read up on using easing and animate but am having trouble implementing into my tabbed widget in my wordpress sidebar (still under construction so no link). The widget works as is but I would like to instate easing into it.
I'm unsure whether to put the script code into header.php or where exactly though. Nothing seems to work. Does anyone know of a tut or how to incorporate jquery functions into a wordpress sidebar widget perhaps?

I've used Brian Crays driving distance calculator on a site, however the calculations are not accurate for full addresses. I realise the v2 google maps api is now depreciated, my question is, if I upgrade to v3, is there more accurate calculations of distance and if so, does anyone have an example of calculating the distance between two points with the new api?
or does anyone know how to get more accurate results with his code?

I want to do something but here is an example. (That explain much more) : Here you have a toolbar called content-header. It change from position:static to position:fixed if it leave the screen. (whan you scroll down) I want to do the same thing with my first <tr> : That way on a my long table you will never loose the title of each columns. I tried to copy this website by using his stuff but it didn't work.

I have this table on my html page:

I start the page by hiding the above html by using
$('#t_menu_options').hide();
And that works.
Now upon some user mouseclick event, I want to show the html and move it to a position where the user clicked:

$('#t_menu_options').css({'left':e.pageX+'px','top':e.pageY+'px'}).show();
}
The alert command works as expected. however, the html is simply showed at the bottom of the page and is not moved to the desired location.
