JQuery :: Filtering <a> Tag With Click() Function?

I'm working this script below that successfully selects and removes certain anchors that contain this text "d2". There are actually numerous anchors in this TD (not div) container with different (labels for the site) text strings, each anchor is followed by a comma with a space.
So I'm removing the anchors no problem (thx to jQ) - but I still need help to remove the trailing comma and associated space after each anchor I remove. My attempts at this solution are so horribly naive I won't bother posting one.
I just can't seem to get getJSON to filter based upon the map I send in.
Here is my code:
$.getJSON('funds_static_json.dot',"{category:fundType}",function(json)
{
dropdownSet.loadSelect(json);
}
My post in firebug looks completely right: [URL] The json is formatted properly and passes the lint test. However, I get the entire json back and not the filtered by my parameter. I have over a thousand funds, but it should only pull back about 9 bassed upon that category. Here is my working url: [URL]

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got a variable that holds a jQuery object. I would like to filter out all of the visible elements in that jQuery object. The problem is once I'm using a variable and not the jQuery object itself I don't know the semantics for filtering it. I have something like this:
var Foo = $("#Bar");
FilterFunction(Foo);
function FilterFunction(Foo) {
var Test = $(Foo + ":visible");
}
What is the correct syntax?
I use CMSMS alot and there is a drop down menu in the admin area to choose a parent item, it shows all parent items and I wanted it to be dynamic to just show top level siblings and children
I spent all day creating a jquery script to filter the list which works just fine in fire fox but IE does not support display:none on html option tags
My options are coloured white at the moment but it would be good if I could get them to disappear all together.
I have tried duplicating the object and using that as a reference and tried a global object but i could not get either to work
code below no jquery i am sure you have that already.
My code is probably a little sketchy my mind was blown after lunch.

I've got a PHP page that delivers MySql data into an HTML table for a To Do list. Works peachy. Now, I wanted to add a filtering tool to the table, which I've also done, and it works fine.
However, I'm dissatisfied with some of the methods I've used becuase they involve a bit of hard coding, and will make it difficult to expand on later down the road. I think you will see what I mean. There's a decent amount of code, but I want to include it all so that you may just copy>paste it and see the page as I do. Code:
I have a large e-commerce site that runs on a database. There are many products on the site which have 'variables' attached to them, e.g. colour, width, height etc. I have a script in place to sort the products depending on these variables Apologies for the length of the code.

document.addEventListener("DOMContentLoaded",i,false); } else if(e){ (

I didn't write this script and I'm not a JavaScript expert, so i don't know how to edit it properly. I want to change it's function from sorting to filtering, i.e. something along the lines of a slice function.
integrating PHP-HTML-JS I'd need some help for doing the following:I have a index.php including:
<script type="text/javascript">
function filter (phrase, _id){
var words = phrase.value.toLowerCase().split(" ");
[code]....
and a child.php including a table object with the id LIST.I'd need to change the parent.php in order to filter on real-time the table LIST via the FILT input on the parent form. I have tried different values instead of 'this' on the js function calling but nothing succesfully.
I have a data store having a Note field (a textarea) and want to display all Notes satisfying a user input (even metacharacters).'ve written the following function to handle this:

I'm trying to implement a dynamic menu using CSS/DHTML/JavaScript. The
menu bar is implemented as hyperlinks so I can use the :hover :active
etc. pseudo-styles.
When moving from one item to another on the menu bar I want to
simulate the user clicking on the menu bar item they've just moved
onto, so the adjacent menu drops down automatically.
So I have something like this:
function MenuBarItemMouseover(menuBarItem)
{
menuBarItem.click();
}
to simulate the user clicking on the adjacent menu.
However it seems the previous menu bar item stays in the 'active'
state and the item that has been moved onto remains in the 'hover'
state.
The css styles are defined in the order: link, visited, hover, active,
and in any case, it works fine if you actually do a mouse click on a
different menu bar item. It seems the programmatic click is not the
same.
Is there anyway of forcing the previous link to 'normal' and the new
link to 'active' using JavaScript? Or is there some other way of
simulating a mouse click?

How can I make it respond immediately? The item is in a table, here is a section from the table:

Bit of a newb to jquery. I have got a jquery slider effect nestled in some tabs. Each tab has one slider in it. When the page initially loads it loads the effect in the first tab only. On clicking the second tab the function isn't called and remains displayed without the effect.

I would like to know whether a jquery click function can be used in an"if" statement.The reason why I am asking, is because I haven't seenany examples of this being done on the web. I want to use thisapproach because currently Jquery keeps initiating two events from onemouse click, eventhough the css for each element is different.Ithink the best way to avoid this problem is to use flow control toexclude the other mouse click event. If element A is clicked then

I actually got two questions.it's regarding the website URL...
1) I'm building up the content from the database using JSON. Currently for each entry I build up the HTML code via Jquery and append it to the div. Is this the best way to do this or can this be done better/more efficient?
2) in the generated content I have a link that triggers the 'show/hide' function of a div below (URL...). Currently it doesn't work within the generated content. At the moment when clicking the link, it should create and alert, but even that isn't working. Is it possible to have a JQuery trigger within JQuery generate content?
I would like to pass value to click function in JQuery. How to do that ?

I am having difficulty binding a popup to a text link.

I currently have the following:
<a href="#" id='$dbase'>Link</a>
which passes the value of $dbase to my jQuery click function.
But I'd like to also pass a second parameter consisting of a page number. Can that be done using the click function or would I have to do it another way. I'm assuming it must be possible. I suppose i could always concatenate the two parameters, e.g. $dbase-$pagenum, pass that and then split it in the javascript but that seems a slightly inelegant way of doing it.
I have an expandable menu (not an accordion), that needs to toggle div elements below it. If I put the click event on the h3 of the menu, it works fine but as soon as I put it on the link, it doesn't work.

I'm working on a website and using jquery quite a lot.For a first level of coding, I'm using Chrome and everything works just fine.But I'm having a first bug when using Firefox.Indeed, I create a button with a click function and when I display my page on Firefox, the click doesn't fire any action like it does on Chrome.Here is the peace of code:HTML declaration of the button:

I am doing a simple slidetoggle with a click function. Meaning I am basically sliding a div (content) into nothing with another div (button) using a click event. This works all fine and dandy but now here is the problem.. I want to change the class of the div(button) so that I may show a different background image depending on the state of the open or closed content div.
Here is the code so far...
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.Button').click(function() {
$('.Content').slideToggle('normal');
if($(this).next().is(':hidden') == false) {
$(this).addClass('off');
alert ('You should see See More button.');
}});
Then obviously I have CSS that has the classes I need including an "on" class that I could not get to fire.
