URl...The idea is a like button, like on fb, in a form which updates a db field I can use to display the number of likes, and my goal is to disable the like button for the rest of the session, or a day, or whatever. This script disables it onclick, the problem is I can't figure out how to get it to submit the form as well.I have found it does submit if the input type is 'submit', but then it doesn't call the disable function. I tried writing another function to submit the form but no go.[code]

It should also filter the scroll down results. If it's possible I don't know how to do it.

View 1 Replies View Relatedhow do I hook a button click event so that my handler fires first but does not affect the firing of other clickhandlers for the same button?
What I want to do is hook all the form submit button click events. When a submit button is clicked, my handler will stuff some hidden fields into the form the button is contained within. Then the handler returns and the built in form submit button handler posts the form back to the server.
I have a disabled submit button sitting in the fieldset of a form. What I'd like to do is attach a click event to this button, but from what I understand this can't be done since you can't attach events to disabled elements.
Is it possible to attach it to the fieldset? I'm not completely familiar with event bubbling but maybe it's possible to capture the element clicked?

View 2 Replies View RelatedAs recently as 1.4.3 $('input:text') would find input elements with no type attribute, but after upgrading to 1.5.1 that is no longer the case.
Is this a bug or an intended refactor to be more standards compliant?
FYI - this is the selector I now have to use: $('input:text,input:not([type])')
It seems like it should be simple, but I don't see what I'm missing. Right now, the search button displays directly under my input field. I've gone through the CSS, but can't figure out where my code is forcing the button onto its own line. What am I missing? How can I bring it up to the same line?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIn my javascript, when enter key is pressed, I want to simulate the effect
of clicking a button.
var mykey;
var posted=false;
if (window.Event){
document.captureEvents(Event.KEYDOWN);
}
document.onkeydown = myKeyDown;
function myKeyDown(e){
if (window.Event){
mykey = e.which;
}
else{
mykey = event.keyCode;
}
//alert(mykey);
var theform;
if (window.navigator.appName.toLowerCase().indexOf("netscape") > -1) {
theform = document.forms["Form1"];
}
else {
theform = document.Form1;
}
if ((mykey==13) && (posted==false) && (theform.btnSend.click))
{
posted=true;
theform.btnSend.click();
}
}
Everything works fine in IE4 to IE6. But NS behaviour is really bizzare.
Thing work as expected in NS7.
In NS6, theform.btnSend.click() does not cause form submission.
In NS4, it complains that theform.btnSend.click() does not exist (despite
having passed the if test that verifies theform.btnSend.click exists).
I have a form I am using to take a list of band members. It includes the member name and the instrument they play. My problem is I can enter the first set of info, and once I click the add another member button..the information I entered is removed, but, the new fields are added. I want to keep the information typed and also add a field.
<script language="Javascript" type="text/javascript">

$memnum = 1;
while ($_SESSION['member'.$memnum] != ""){

I'd like to create a quick and dirty validation method for a form. It's not meant to be very secure.
The way I picture it working is this - there is an input field that asks for a password. If the user types in the password correctly, the "submit" div tag will change from "none" to "block". , which will display the submit button. I just am not familiar with JS enough to know if that's possible.
Here's what I'm starting with:

I need a messagebox to let user type in some text and then submit. Do I need a plugin? I searched on Jquery site, seems the search plugins doesn't work as it doesn;t return anything with "messagebox". I found a plugin on other site, but need license. What I need is just a simple messagebox
