Form - Multi Function Values With Images

May 28, 2009

I'm pretty new to Javascript and I'm trying to build a form which gives a configuration for a product. It consists of 5 drop down menus and each value in the drop down needs to have an image, a price, and a rule attached to it. The image sits above the drop down and changes with the selection, the price adds to the option prices selected in the other drop downs and give a total, and the rule affects what options are available in subsequent drop downs. I've got all of these working separately but can't get a single value to have all 3 functions.

GetElementsByName With Multi-Criteria Values?

Sep 24, 2011

I am trying to adapt an existing script which returns a list of URLS from my website based on an entry in a search box. I would like to adapt it so that I can enter a value other than the string value "xxx" but so that I can search for "xxx" or "yyy". I can see that the script uses the function GetElementsByName with a Name value. Is there any way that I can change the value of the Name to be '"xxx" or "yyy"' instead of just "xxx" or should I be using a different function?

JQuery :: Saving Values From A Multi Select List?

Sep 10, 2009

Im using a plugin called select chain and modified it a bit. Right now im trying to pass only selected values of a multi select list through ajax. The following function does a bit more but im concerned with the part that says cust_val: customer.val().join(",") This should return only selected values. This is what happens if i put it in an alert(). however when i check firebug to see what was posted it shows the entire list. I've tried alternatives like option:selected.... they all work for aler() .. the info passed through ajax shows the entire list.

customer.selectChain({
target: market,
url: callback_url,
type: "POST",
data: { ajax: true, multsel: market_selects, cust_val:
customer.val().join(",") }
}).trigger('change');

Passing Data From Multi-page Child Form To Parent Form

May 23, 2010

I would like to have a main form (written in PHP) that has a "lookup" button next to a text field. When the user clicks "lookup", it should open a new window that lets them search (child.page1). When they enter a name or DOB into the search form, it submits the form through PHP (via POST), to a results page (child.page2). This displays all persons in the database which have a name or DOB == to the search term(s), with a checkbox next to each match. They click the checkbox (or alternenatively, a link), and return the checkbox value to the main window.

I have everything working right now, except that (child.page2) doesn't recognize the main window. If the data is entered on (child.page1), it works fine. I'm not very familiar with javascript.. is this even possible? I've considered using frames, to keep the parent-child relationship evident to the computer, but figured I'd check to see if there's an easier way.

How To Pass Values To A Function In Form

Oct 26, 2009

In the DOM Scripting book by Jeremy Keith, he provides this function:
Code:
function styleElementSiblings(tag,theclass) {
if (!document.getElementsByTagName) return false;
var elems = document.getElementsByTagName(tag);
for (var i=0; i<elems.length; i++) {
var elem = getNextElement(elems[i].nextSibling);
addClass(elem,theclass);
} }

And then says to pass the values "h1" and "intro" to this function in this form:
styleElementSiblings("h1","intro");

I'm just a little stuck on how to "pass the values". Presumably I've missed something simple. I've tried just pasting that line before the function, but no luck. He also provides a function that allows multiple functions to load at once, called addLoadEvent, so I tried this, also with no luck:
addLoadEvent(styleElementSiblings("h1","intro"));

JQuery :: Unable To Pass Modal Form Values To Code-Behind Function?

Dec 10, 2009

Within an aspx page, I have a form with asp controls (text boxes) that I'm loading within a jQuery modal popup dialog. Once the user fills out the form and the register button is clicked in the modal form, it invokes a code-behind function, which seems to be working fine. However, the problem I'm facing is in the code-behind function; none of the field values in the modal popup form are being passed to the code-behind function.I was unable to attach some snapshots directly to the post, so I uploaded it at the following urls:

Multi Selection Form With Each Being Added Up To Reach Total

Sep 29, 2010

I am just beginning to try to learn some js, and am making a site which requires a multi selection form with each being added up to reach a total. This sounds like a standard form, but this is a little different. I have files in megabyte sizes, from which people would choose what they wanted, and the total deciding how many dvds would be needed to store that many files...and this total could then be added to a js shopping cart. By the way, there is nothing illegal or pirated with the files in case you have any concerns.

Any Way To Apply Oncontextmenu And Title Values To ALL Images?

Jul 24, 2006

We have about 30 images on a page, and want to apply something like this to
all of them:

< ... here.');return false;" title="Another

We want the same thing copied to every image, which basically makes for
repetitive, long code that takes more time to load.

Is there an easy way to have this appear just once in the code, but apply
itself to all images in the page?

I'm not sure what to do to be honest, I've looked up google to no real avail.. my variables are declared in a seperate file to the actual even handlers and I have heaps of comments through out it, so please don't judge lol i'm still learning Quote:

Seperate Concatenated Form Values - 4 Text Boxes That Are Supposed To Load 4 Seperate Values Of Data

Jan 27, 2010

I have 4 text boxes that are supposed to load 4 seperate values of data from one field in one table from a database. The field is called interface_cropsettings (from the interface table) and these values have been concatenated and comma seperated in this field.

Code:

Once the form is filled out and saved, the data is inserted into the database and the values from these 4 text boxes are concatenated, comma seperated and inserted into that one field correctly.

(Example)

If the 4 text boxes have the following values:

In the database field they become:

However, if the form is closed and then re-opened, each text box displays the entire database field rather then each value seperated in the corresponding text box.

(Example)

All 4 text boxes display this:

I already know why the data appears like this in the form, my problem is that I'm not sure how to write the javascript to seperate the values into the correct corresponding fields, assuming javascript is what I should be using!

Also, this is kind of irrelevant but just in case you're wondering, this form is part of a cold fusion application!
