Im using a plugin called select chain and modified it a bit. Right now im trying to pass only selected values of a multi select list through ajax. The following function does a bit more but im concerned with the part that says cust_val: customer.val().join(",") This should return only selected values. This is what happens if i put it in an alert(). however when i check firebug to see what was posted it shows the entire list. I've tried alternatives like option:selected.... they all work for aler() .. the info passed through ajax shows the entire list.
I currently am trying to make a long list of checkboxes function like a multi-select box would. I would like to be able to shift-select two checkboxes and have for example, the X number of boxes in between all be selected.
My mission: Open/collapse TD cells based on items selected in a list box. Getting no response from jQuery so I've done something wrong but cant quite get there. Listbox 'mainselect' contains option values that refer to names of TDs in a table. When a mainselect option is clicked, it will toggle to open or close the referenced TD list box by option value. Does hide/show make a TD 'blank' or actually set it's width to '0'? I want it to close, moving other cells left.
I have a form with a "results" list box for a sort user defined sort Lets say the values are:
Field 1 (ASC) Field 2 (ASC) Field 3 (DESC)
What I want to do is automatically select all these values before submitting the form so I can pass every list box value to the next form whether selected or not. Depending on the number of values in the list box I think I need something like this:
// COUNT OF ROWS FROM ZERO MYROWS = document.choiceForm.choiceBox.length MYROWS = MYROWS - 1
for (i = 0; i <= MYROWS; i++) { document.choiceForm.choiceBox. ?????????????????????? Code here <<<<
I have a search form that uses AJAX to fetch data and populate a table. Several of the search fields are multiple selects. Problem is, only the first option is getting passed thru to the PHP file called by the AJAX function.
var fs_users = $("#users"), fs_status("#status"), fs_roles("#roles"), ...; var fs_allFields = $([]).add(fs_users).add(fs_status).add(fs_roles)...; $("#fsSearch").click(function() { //alert(fs_roles.val());
[Code]....
For debugging purposes, the target PHP file ("fetch_data.php") dumps the $_POST and $_GET variables to a file. As mentioned, only the first option from the multi-selects is getting passed thru in the $_POST variable ($_GET is empty as expected). The alert (line 4) will correctly display a comma-delimited list of all the selected values (also verified via Firebug while stepping thru the code). Someone in another thread suggested using serialize() (e.g. line 9 becomes "fs_allFields.serialize()", but that caused NOTHING to get passed thru.
Maybe I've been staring at it too long and there's a simple fix is right in front of me, but I just can't see it.
P.S. I'm using the latest versions of jQuery and jQuery-UI.
I have dropdown list like this:<select id="myList"> <option value="1">Option 1</option> <option value="2">Option 2</option> <option value="3">Option 3</option> <option value="4">Option 4</option> </select>
and i modify it using javascript and once i have finished modifying the dropdown list i want to save its current state to a cookie so that when i reload the page the last state of the dropdown list is retrieved from the cookie and written into the page is this possible?
Im using jquery.validate.js. I need to compare 2 multiple select fields using jquery validation. If both the selected fields are same it should through an error message.[code]
When you select multiple <div> get the value of each one and save in separate hidden fields accordingly.
What needs to happen is. Click div 1 --> if hidden field1 value is "none", save there, else check hidden field 2 if that's "none" save in hidden field 2
Click div 2 --> if hidden field1 value is "none", save there, else check hidden field 2 if that's "none" save in hidden field 2 Here's what I've come up with so far (currently I'm using JQuery)
The problem with this is that no matter what div I click in which order it only updates the 1st hidden field :(
I am trying to adapt an existing script which returns a list of URLS from my website based on an entry in a search box. I would like to adapt it so that I can enter a value other than the string value "xxx" but so that I can search for "xxx" or "yyy". I can see that the script uses the function GetElementsByName with a Name value. Is there any way that I can change the value of the Name to be '"xxx" or "yyy"' instead of just "xxx" or should I be using a different function?
I'm pretty new to Javascript and I'm trying to build a form which gives a configuration for a product. It consists of 5 drop down menus and each value in the drop down needs to have an image, a price, and a rule attached to it. The image sits above the drop down and changes with the selection, the price adds to the option prices selected in the other drop downs and give a total, and the rule affects what options are available in subsequent drop downs. I've got all of these working separately but can't get a single value to have all 3 functions.
what to do to retain values of a webpage even after saving the webpage on the local disk? i have developed my webpages in dreamweaver cs4 also my webpages are using opera 10.10 as default browser and one more thing i cant migrate it to any other browser.
I have a page that displays a list of people playing in a tournament. I need to be able to generate a Leaderboard based on which players are manually selected by the admin. Next to each person there is a drop-down list. An admin can go in and select a "slot" that a player should be in on the leader board from 1 to 8, or leave it blank if none. What I need to figure out how to do is the following, when a change event happens on a drop-down list, and say the value 5 is selected, I need to check to make sure that 5 is not already selected in one of the other players drop-down lists, in other words, that the 5th leaderboard slot is not already full. if it is, display an error message and make them change that one first. how to do that with jQuery? I'm thinking it will have something to do with the each() function, but not sure exactly how the logic should work.
I am attempting to create a form similar to one found in Access where the select box's drop-down list displays multiple columns while the selection only displays the first column. For example, in my app, I have a drop-down for "A", "M", and "D", but when the list drops, it should say:A | AddM | ModifyD | DeleteI don't care about the spacing of the pipe characters, but I simply want the selected item to only show the first column (in this case, the single letter) so I don't have a long select box.
page = $("<div id="content"><p>aaa</p><p>bbb</p><p>ccc</p></div>").find('p').eq(0);This can echo `<p>aaa</p>` but How to select multi `eq()` in jqeury? if I need `<p>aaa</p><p>bbb</p>`
I have a tight space requirement here the explaination then code sample. I have a row of inputs and a link with a select set in the between in a div. I need to allow multi selection on the select which is the problem. The select must be within the div and when in non-select state set to 1 when the user is to make a selection I expand the select to 10. This causes the div to expand and any thing under to move in kind. I need a way to allow the select to expnad with out moving expanding the parent div.
I have a multiselet box in which i identify the selected items. Once the user has finished selecting the items it causes the form to be submitted. For this example it just shows the selected indexes. To see the problem. Copy paste the code and save as html file. Then click on an item in the select box.
I am having problem with indentifying the selected items. When only one element is selected, the selected option index does not come up fine. I have no clue as to why this is the case. Code:
I need to make a multi select listbox for countries.from the countries listbox, my cities listbox will retrieve the cities of the countries selected.both of these listbox allows multiple select.
I have a MySQL table with 90 columns and I want the users to be able to select any columns they concern and output the result accordingly. In the front-end, I can use a group of checkbox which looks very ugly and I can not setup the orders for selected columns. Is there a plug-in or some examples in jQuery, that I can make 2 parallel boxes (i.e. an original-box and a selected-box). the original- box lists all of the column names at the beginning and there is a way to move items between two boxes. And the order of items in the selected-box can be adjusted. the items in the selected-box will be used to build into an array in my backend code.
