I have a checkbox on a page which I have styled using some jquery code. I want the textbox underneath the checkbox to be disabled if the checkbox is ticked and enabled if it is unticked. I tried using regular javascript to do this but I beleive it didn't work because I have existing javascript/ jquery code on the page...here is a link to the page :[URL]...
What I want to do is that when I click on a <input type="text" /> tag the checkbox next to it should become checked. I've tried with the help of internet for a couple of hours but I just can't find how I interact with other objects properly to achieve what I want to accomplish.
Basically it's a layout creator, mostly, with a few customization options. Basically as you can see from the HTML below, there is a checkbox with the id "network" and a text input field with the id "username". Code:
This seems like a pretty common task, so I feel optimistic that someone has already developed it. However, I'm not sure how to put it into Google so I thought I would ask for recommendations here.The situation is a billing/shipping address form, with a checkbox for "billing same as shipping." If the user ticks this checkbox, I want the billing section of the form to "gray out" - or better yet, to pull the values from the shipping section and gray out. This will enhance the user experience by avoiding confusion as to whether or not the billin part of the form still needs to be filled out.
I have not used JavaScript in a good long while (i'm a SQL guy by day) and am running into what I consider to be a simple problem. However, i've done LOTS of research on my problem and not able to find resolution on my own.
I've got radio buttons - one for Male and one for Female. I also have a textbox which is disabled by default when the HTML page loads. When the FEMALE radio button is checked, it should enable the textbox so that the end user can enter text into it. When the MALE radio button is checked, the textbox should remain disabled. The HTML page is calling a JS function which is inside a separate script, see code below.
Code:
function enableTextbox() { if (getElementByID("F").checked == true)
i have a jsp page in which there is a table. the number of rows is variable and depends on a pre-defined query.every row has 2 editable textboxes which are initially disabled. i need to activate these textboxes according to the radio button which corresponds to the particular row in question.
I am creating a form using a system called SORCE.The load an article page, only check boxes.I have three checkboxes and want to disable the other 2 when one of them is checked. I am trying to print all the selected checkbox values to a textbox separated by commas (, ). However, the first value in the textbox always starts with a comma (, ) i.e. (, one, two, three) etc. My current script trys to check if the first 2 characters (substring) are ", " (comma then space) then attempts to remove them. However this hasn't worked and I have no idea what to try next.
<head> <script type="text/javascript"> function list(c,n,z) {

I very new to JavaScript and I need to validate a text field after a checkbox has been clicked. This is part of a larger form validation. I am looking for the simplest and easy solution to this issue. I have seen a couple of other examples that are far too complicated for the my needs. The form is asking a user to identify a referral source. If the referral source is a website, it wants the user to provide a URL. To clarify, all it needs to do is verify that if the website checkbox is clicked then there is text in the corresponding textbox. Here's what i'am been trying to make work
I have a table to which I am dynamically adding rows to. When a user clicks a link I need to select a checkbox and a textbox in each row to do some validation.
I have a textbox and 2 checkbox, and I'd like to validate the textbox if at least one of the two checkbox is selected. If is just one checkbox, I'll write: myTextboxl: { required: '#myFirstCheckbox:checked' } but in the case of 2 checkbox, how can I solve?
I have a simple form which I am running a validation on a single text box (as shown below, adapted from the milk example).
$(document).ready(function() { // validate signup form on keyup and submit var validator = $("#updateModules").validate({ rules: { guestbookContact: { required: true, email: true }, }, // the errorPlacement has to take the table layout into account errorPlacement: function(error, element) { if ( element.is(":radio") ) error.appendTo( element.parent().next().next() ); else if ( element.is(":checkbox") ) error.appendTo ( element.next() ); else error.appendTo( element.parent().next() ); }, // specifying a submitHandler prevents the default submit, good for the demo submitHandler: function() { form.submit(); }, // set this class to error-labels to indicate valid fields success: function(label) { // set as text for IE label.html(" ").addClass("checked"); }});
Now I only want to validate the text box if the checkbox "requireEmail" is checked. Is there an easy way to do this?
I'm a new java scripter and I'm having trouble with the date and time. Basically when a checkbox is checked, it displays the time in a text box. But since I have multiple check boxes, it changes the time in all the text boxes. How do I have the checkbox linked to the text box. Code:
