JQuery :: Script (preferably) To Gray Out A Form If A Checkbox Is Ticked?
Aug 19, 2011
This seems like a pretty common task, so I feel optimistic that someone has already developed it. However, I'm not sure how to put it into Google so I thought I would ask for recommendations here.The situation is a billing/shipping address form, with a checkbox for "billing same as shipping." If the user ticks this checkbox, I want the billing section of the form to "gray out" - or better yet, to pull the values from the shipping section and gray out. This will enhance the user experience by avoiding confusion as to whether or not the billin part of the form still needs to be filled out.
I have a checkbox on a page which I have styled using some jquery code. I want the textbox underneath the checkbox to be disabled if the checkbox is ticked and enabled if it is unticked. I tried using regular javascript to do this but I beleive it didn't work because I have existing javascript/ jquery code on the page...here is a link to the page :[URL]...

I have been trying to get better at my javascript as of late and there is this one particular color fading technique I have found that I am having trouble dissecting. The following code appears to be how they are making a rollover go from a dark gray to a subtle light gray with a nice fade but I can't exactly tell whats going on from the code. Is it just telling it to add a rgb point in so many seconds?
What I want to do is that when I click on a <input type="text" /> tag the checkbox next to it should become checked. I've tried with the help of internet for a couple of hours but I just can't find how I interact with other objects properly to achieve what I want to accomplish.
Basically it's a layout creator, mostly, with a few customization options. Basically as you can see from the HTML below, there is a checkbox with the id "network" and a text input field with the id "username". Code:
I have a form that uses ajax to load some of the elements. If the database says a checkbox has been previously ticked then the box itself is unavailable in the form. Ajax continuously checks and updates the form accordingly. The problem I'm having is when I check an available box ajax unchecks it the next time it refreshes. I just need the form to "remember" which boxes I've checked after an ajax update. Does anyone know how to retain new form entries between ajax refreshes?
I have a graphic that is the gray ver of the one i want to swap in it looks like this
The base_url() is part of CodeIgnighter it puts in the base url so i can access the image directory
I have an onload comand in my body to refresh this ever 10 seconds what i need to know is how to swap out the above file for friend_request.png witch is in the same dir
This is the loaded graphic and this is what i want it to look like if my script returns a friend request just to give you and idea of what i'm doing.

I'm working on implementing watermark in datepicker text field (JQuery V1.8.9). I have a datepicker field with watermark set (dd/mm/yyyy). Watermark text displaying in gray color. When I select a date, the text field still having the gray color instead of changing to black color. but, when i key in the date and focus out, it's working fine. Also, this is working fine in Chrome but not with Firefox. I'm not sure the exact cause...
My JSP web page has many checkboxes. What is web page source code look like when clicking one checkbox will submit only one checkbox value (not the whole form) immediately? i.e. toggling one checkbox will send the info that only that checkbox is toggled. This does not work because clicking one checkbox will send the whole page

I'm working on a search filter trying to get a form to update itself depending on what options have been checked from a selection of checkboxes. i.e. selecting one checkbox can bring up other checkboxes. It's just posting the form to update_filter.php and putting the updated form into searchNavigation div.
This works for the first checkbox that is checked, but after that nothing.
Is it something to do with the fact that the form is not the same form that it was before the checkbox was checked if that makes sense? or shouldn't that make any difference?
This is my form, When user click the <b>YES and checked the check </b>box then only I want to enable the Prepay by Card button. For this situation, what is the jquery snippet. I have tried somthing like: $("#SubmitCard").attr("disabled", "disabled");
But the thing is, I want to put the and Condition match. For this situation, I don't know how to write the jquery snippet <table style="border: 0px solid rgb(0, 0, 0); width: 485px; height: 45px;"><tbody> <tr style="width: 20px; height: 5px;"> <td width="78">Pay by Card </td> <td width="78"><b><span style="cursor: pointer;" id="yes">Yes</span></b></td> <td style="cursor: pointer;" width="315"><span id="no" style="cursor: pointer;">No</span></td> </tr> .....
I am trying to validate a form with a couple of elements being required if a checkbox is NOT checked. Now if I submit the form the rules fire - and then I check the checkbox on - the validation rules have already fired - and even though the checkbox is now checked - the validation rules still apply and the form will not submit until I enter the fields.What I was hoping was that the checkbox could toggle the rules on or off.
var validator = $(".cmxform").validate({ rules: { txtAddress1: {
I have an HTML form with checkboxes. I want to add a text box that allows the user to type a string, then click "add", and then a new checkbox will appear at the bottom of the form. For example if my form looks like this:
[] A [] B [] C
and the user types "D" then clicks the {add} button, then the page will change to look like this:
I need to validate a TOS checkbox on a form that has other non-required checkboxes. I am trying to use a bit of javascript described in this thread:
[URL]
The follow code I have in the <HEAD> section is this:
Code: <SCRIPT language=JavaScript> function checkCheckbox (f,name,require) { var checked = 0, e, i = 0 while (e = f.elements[i++]) {if (e.type == 'checkbox' && e.className == name && e.checked) checked++}
I want to create a checkbox on a form that, when checked, will display a text field for someone to enter text into. If the box isn't checked, though, the text field should not be displayed.
How do I do this?
Oh also, it will probably use document.getElementByID(), because that is what we're learning about
I have a form, on which I have multiple checkboxes and text fields.Now I want that the form can't submit untill at least 1 checkbox is selected or a text field is filled.But even with the javascript validation I already have the form still submits.Any help on this one?Here is the whole page on which the checkboxes, text fields and javascript validation are:PHP Code:
<script type="text/javascript" language="javascript"> function checkCheckBoxes() { if (document.form2.nbs_vmb[].checked == false)
I would like to have a checkbox and text box beside each other in a form. The text box would be greyed out and no info can be entered UNTIL the checkbox is checked. Once the checkbox is checked the text box becomes active and numbers then can be entered.
Can this be done with javascript? If not what are my options?
However when submitting the form values in email, the value of the checkbox won't submit with the checkbox value being disabled (if I comment out that second line, it works). Of course, I don't want the value able to be unselected.
