Validate Textbox After Checkbox Clicked
Oct 31, 2011I very new to JavaScript and I need to validate a text field after a checkbox has been clicked. This is part of a larger form validation. I am looking for the simplest and easy solution to this issue. I have seen a couple of other examples that are far too complicated for the my needs. The form is asking a user to identify a referral source. If the referral source is a website, it wants the user to provide a URL. To clarify, all it needs to do is verify that if the website checkbox is clicked then there is text in the corresponding textbox. Here's what i'am been trying to make work

Apr 30, 2010The problem I have is that the value="" needs to be the ID number of the recordset but still be able to SUM the dollar value on the TEXT box (totalcost) when someone click on each CHECKBOX. The CHECKBOX values will be coming out of a database using PHP. How do I modify the Javascript to accomplish what I'm looking for.

I want to be able to do this in both fire fox and ie window.event.srcElement works great for ie but not for firefox do not tell me to use Event.target for firefox because that does not work. Apr 15, 2004I have a form, what I want to happen is that a user clicks a checkbox and a list appears or is enabled so that the user can then select a option. Also when the checkbox is unchecked again, I want the list to disapear or become unabled and it's value set back to whatever was the default.

However, the first value in the textbox always starts with a comma (, ) i.e. (, one, two, three) etc. My current script trys to check if the first 2 characters (substring) are ", " (comma then space) then attempts to remove them. However this hasn't worked and I have no idea what to try next.

Dec 8, 2009I currently have some buttons representing letters and a textbox. When a button is clicked, its value is copied into the text box. I have an onkeyup event which means that every time a button is clicked, a function is called which searches some arrays using the current text box value.
However, the problem I am currently having is that the onkeyup event which calls the function works if I type the value in using my computer keyboard, but not when using the buttons (even though the buttons enter values into the textbox).
How I can make it so that when I press a button, the onkeyup event triggers and the function is called?
