I need to create some code that is similar to photos.com, istock.com, etc., where when you mouse over and image, a new window opens showing an image larger, and closes when you mouse off the original. All of the code I try either keeps the window open when you mouse off, or is blocked by Firefox's pop-up blocker, which photos.com does not.

On one of my test sites I have an image that when you mouseover it has an enlarged image with description pop up which floats or aligns downward (default). Does anyone know the code or tag to make it float/align upward?
These images are near the bottom of the page so I want the pop up to pop up into the page and not down below the page line.[URl]..

I'm used to building objects in Visual Basic and I'm having difficulty simplifying this code into an object so I can just define and run about a dozen of them.
The code creates a button which changes on mouseover and on mouseclick. The button is a link to another page.
Also on mouseover the button slides to the right, giving a more intelligent feel for the user.
What are my options for streamlining this code so I can reduce the number of lines of code-clutter?

I am combining a select box enhancer called Chosen from [URL].. and the jQueryUI accordian with toggler from here:[URL].. Now, when I place the chosen plugin inside one of the togler sections, it just doesn't show correctly.

Im looking for a js stopwatch that would express a figure input by the end user -
so for example the code could ask 'how many calories do you burn an hour' - user inputs 100
They start the stop watch and the stop watch show both the seconds/minutes increasing, but also show the calories increasing as (input="100"/60)/60
I have a form for taking customer details. Part of the form will allow the user to select some upgrades for their selected product. The upgrades will be displayed in a drop down list with their additional cost. The total cost of the product being ordered will be displayed on the page.
Could someone please advise me on the best way to automatically update the total cost displayed on the page each time an upgrade is selected? I am using PHP for the site but I'm assuming that javascript is the best choice for this.
I know how to make a static drop down list, but can't figure out XmlhttpRequest to make a dynamic list. If someone could point me in the right direction for xmlhttprequest that would be great. Or at least how to set up the options Here was I have so far:

Suppose I do (5 * 0.039) + 0.59, then the result is 0.7849999999999999 - but I want to round it upwards and should have only 3 digits after decimal point. I found out that using toFixed(3) will get it to be 0.785, but the problem is that it add x.x00 for some numbers where there aren't much decimal numbers. Is there a way I can remove the 0's?
View 9 Replies View RelatedI'm attempting to physically change the index order of the elements returned by a selector.For example, I'm attempting to make it so when someone clicks on a button, it swaps the index position of the element above or below it (depending on which button they press).I tried to assign it using something like $('.draggable :eq(2)').attr('index', 3)But it didn't seem to work. Is there a way to do it using jQuery, or do I have to change it within DOM itself? Or is there another way to do it?

What trying to achieve is to have a div which when you mouseover a div and h4 within will change properties.This is working but when you mouseover the div and pass over either the border of the containing div or the h4 text the animate/fadeTo repeat again. Is someone able to tell what Im doing wrong? Also you may notice the function is effecting more than one container div at a time which is not what Im going for.
Is there a way to seperate them like this or somehow?

I have 3 icons at the bottom of the page (facebook, rainbow, charity logo) and on mouseover the whole site expands downwards (it's not supposed to do that). and in this code, it works, the call is made and text is added. in the other code I don't get a change at all. Not even in the database that add.php manipulates.
I am trying to make a gui for clients to edit a php page that displays html and javascript.
I want the user to be able to move html elements around and even edit it like add effects like fade in and out etc.
Then after all the changes I want to overwrite the existing php file that does this for that user. how can you make such changes and then save it to a file?
It's an html / javascript editor but using a gui instead of allowing them to directly touch the code. It would be a security risk if I allow such a thing. So I need to program a interface that would make such changes and save them to file.
Like how can you delete and add new javascript code to the file?

I have a routine that creates some HTML on the fly (updateFilters() function) and after the HTML is created, I attempt to access some fields (elements) on the form itself.
I works fine if I place an alert() statement after the HTML is created, but when I remove, the code errors out.
I have tried the setTimeout() statement, but I cannot grab the element --- undefined or null is returned. It seems that the form is the only element I can get a handle on --- everything else is undefined or null...

This works fine when I place this code under the html in the main source, but if I try to add this Jquery code to an external js sheet it doesnt seem to work?
Currently my js sheet is called in the header, when I move this link to the footer of my page the code works again, so Im guessing this has something to do with where the jquery code is placed in relation to the code Im trying to hide?
How I can keep my js in the header but still make the content disappear on click?
