I have a site where i switch between two images using some JavaScript. What I need is to be able to set a session variable or something so that if someone selects shading on or off it sticks to that for the rest of the session.
Any idea or even a point in the right direction. Do i need cookies or is there a simple way to do this

I have created a long list of items. For each item, there is 1 image. In my case, I use the same image each time.
I would like to use JS to allow users to check an item by clicking on it. Please note, I am not using radio buttons or any other forms.

It works for each image. It switches to 2.png when a user clicks on each instance of that image. But how do you make sure it switches back to 1.png on the next click, and so on, effectively creating a switch for multiple instances of the same image?
I am trying to achieve a relatively simple effect but having a hard time. I have the code to swap the images displayed in a particular div with an external trigger but want to add a slide effect to the new images that loads upon activating the trigger. The code I have so far is:

I'm using a script that changes between 2 images when I click on the image: e.g. (An arrow that is pointing up and another that points down) When I click on the up arrow it changes to the down arrow and vice versa.
Now, when I click on the arrow it changes for the first time, but it cant be repeated. My goal is to let it change to the other image whenever i click it.

But, what I want to do is change this ONCE per user session. So instead of change this on every refresh / page load I want to load it once, store that setting in a cookie/session, and not do it again until the next session.
I have a banner that has image navigation on the lower right. The navigation links are images which, when clicked, change the banner without reloading the page. The actual switching of the banner is working when each image is clicked.
However, my problem is this:
The page itself is long and must be vertically-scrolled to see the entire content. Because of the scrolling, the banner could appear anywhere vertically on the page. And whenever I click the banner navigation hrefs, the page "jumps" so that the banner is at the top. The page should really stay in the fixed position.
I'm not sure how to set it up so that no matter where the banner section is on the scrolled page, that the page stays in the same position when the navigation is clicked.

Do I need something in my script so that the page won't jump? Or am I missing something in the HTML?
I'm trying to create a switch image code that will allow the new image to be a link as well. In the list item where you'll see ('blue.jpg') if I try to make this an anchor tag - it breaks the code.

I'm writing an image gallery script in which the thumbnail for the currently-viewed image is indicated with a smaller image below the thumbnail. My placeholder is as follows:

with indicator1, indicator2, etc. following, one below each thumbnail. In my script, which placeholder has the indicator is called by the variable thumbIndicator. I'd like to be able to do that like this:

but this has not worked. I've also changed my image placeholder to this:

I have the following as a code for an image rotation on each click (with three images)... when I load the page the first image loads fine and I click on it twice and the other two images switch smoothly, but then click a third time to go back to the first image and it doesn't go back to the first image. here's the javascript:

Been trying to get a short script I wrote to work 100%. Basically it checks to see if the main page image is =>375px and if it is shunts the text down below it. Its not a live site yet and due to it being so short I thought I would just copy and paste it here:

The problem is with IE6, it randomly decides not to work without any sign from the debugger that anything is wrong. This is my first time using onLoad with an image, is there any quirks with it such as page load order (e.g. if the image finishes loading before the text loads this wouldn't appear to run?).
My problem is similar to an earlier issue here but I have a script directing the HTML form. I want to change the "button" to an image in my cpanel and have tried an earlier answer with no luck.
I did manage to get the button replaced with my image but the javascript does not work and allows a signup to bypass filling out the form and go to the destination page.
The script works perfectly with the "button" but I really would like to have my image I made.

It's kind of hard to start explaining what i did or maybe even harder why i did it that way. But ok i neededtext replacement for custom fonts. Cufon couldn't be used because of the large amount of text and javascript in general on the site. It should play nice on IE6 that's why i chose to use facelift(server side text to image replacement). The problem arose when i needed to show a different font on hover state. I created two elements with the same position and now i want to switch them on hover state! It's actually working but when hovering fast over the different elements the hover state's mixes up ending ugly and wrong...

I am trying to make different images hover over a table of sliced images when you mouse over a particular image. ex. mouse over image 1 = have image 1.1 hover over entire table of images in spot A; mouse over image 2 = have image 2.2 hover over entire table of images in spot B....ect. what i have so far only allows me to mouse over image 1 and have image 1.1 hover over entire table in spot A. Any time i try to move forward with more div's on other images it just jacks everything up.

Now my image gallery is working properly but problem is that the speed of scrolling images if normal in firefox, but in internet explorer it is slow, and in google chrome it is very fast , Sir how to resolve this problem

The image thumbs are showing up but the larger images are not. I changed the 'body onload' html tag to window.onload as I'm using two different javascripts on this page and I don't want them to conflict.I've also added initLightbox() so I don't know what's wrong! The code still switches between the first 2 divs, hiding whichever one is not in use, but the third div is just placed next to whichever other one is shown. It does not hide the other divs and is not hidden by them either.
