It's kind of hard to start explaining what i did or maybe even harder why i did it that way. But ok i neededtext replacement for custom fonts. Cufon couldn't be used because of the large amount of text and javascript in general on the site. It should play nice on IE6 that's why i chose to use facelift(server side text to image replacement). The problem arose when i needed to show a different font on hover state. I created two elements with the same position and now i want to switch them on hover state! It's actually working but when hovering fast over the different elements the hover state's mixes up ending ugly and wrong...
Been trying to get a short script I wrote to work 100%. Basically it checks to see if the main page image is =>375px and if it is shunts the text down below it. Its not a live site yet and due to it being so short I thought I would just copy and paste it here:
function checkImage(imageId) { if(document.getElementById) { var id = document.getElementById(imageId);
[code]....
The problem is with IE6, it randomly decides not to work without any sign from the debugger that anything is wrong. This is my first time using onLoad with an image, is there any quirks with it such as page load order (e.g. if the image finishes loading before the text loads this wouldn't appear to run?).
I would like to access the create call back function. So far no luck. It appears the function is not getting executed. Any ideas where I may be going wrong? code...
Trying to use a <body id=""> tag to simulate a hover event on any given image of my navbar. Is it possible? Could a "swap image" script work? I'm willing to place the images in an "li,ul" list if need be.
Is it possible to do an 'on click' event that changes a css selector, then an 'off click' that switches it back? I am working on a touch screen app and need to replicate a css hover state.
I have some divs I am toggling and there is a little + sign image I want to change to a - sign image when the toggle event occurs, but can't quite figure it out. Here is the toggle code I have (taken from
function govindaAddEventHandler(obj, eventName, handler) { if (document.attachEvent) { obj.attachEvent("on" + eventName, handler);
[code]....
The problem occurs when I change it from an on"click" event to an on"focus" event. In the latter case (onfocus) it does not work on Firefox, but only in IE8. Why is that? How can I add an event handler for onfocus in firefox?
I've followed an online tutorial and successfully created a gallery with a horizontal slide bar using [very specifically] JQuery versions 1.2.6.js and jquery-ui-full-1.5.2.min.js (since otherwise, it does not seem to work).After creating the gallery in the index.html, I decided to put all gallery and slider related scripts into a separate html file to be called with a PHP and ajax script. Here's the problem: While the slider [image] components as well as gallery images [in the slider] loads fine, the slider handler does not work anymore! You can see my problem when you select 'Gallery' from my website. Scroll to the bottom where the horizontal slider is and try moving it. 5%-10% of the time it works, for some odd reason.
I'm not sure what code to show here.. but below are the links I've established to the .js files. With the paths, since the index.html is doing all the calling, I wouldn't have to deal with any '../../*.js' type of paths in order to jump up file levels (this also proven since the images in the gallery are done without '../../' paths).NOTE: ALL of these scripts already work if implemented directly into the index.html. This fails when executed from an external html file
I wanted to show a datepicker on a custom click event. i can't use datepicker button or image due to lack of space and certain other restrictions.
I have created a custom button with a custom look and feel. i want the click event on this button to trigger datepicker display.
I tried to use:
But this is merely associating the textfield datepick with datepicker, its not showing it.. rather we have to click on textfield after the button click to show the datepicker.
I have an html table with six rows and two columns. I have what it is supposed to look like here. But, what is really confusing me is that with the exact same source code snippet inside wordpress here is not displaying the same output, the image does not span both rows? I am super confused by this behaviour. Has anybody ever run across this error before?
I am trying to use a if not statement but trying to use the condition of jquery hover. I have an image and when you put your mouse over it another image appears this image that appears using css would be a menu look however I notice that when I move my mouse off the image to the menu image that appears when your mouse is over the persons image it would then fade away.
Clients image when mouse is over the image another image appears the new image that appears is a menu image with buttons on it this was created in html and position with css so it appears next to the persons image. The problem I have is when you move your mouse off the users image to put it on that menu the menu would fade back out. So I want to make a if not stating that if the mouse is not on the user image or the menu that appears then you fade out. How can I do this??
I have a 300x150 container div with a small inner div that has a image link button inside..When the user hovers over the button, it currently does .hide on the visible container div and .show on another div.However, I don't want the event to fired instantly, I would like for the animations to take affect 3000 milliseconds after their mouse has entered the button div to prevent the event from firing without the users intention.
I'm trying to add a simple growing effect to a div using jquery, i'd like to create a button that changes his dimentions on the over event of the mouse and turn back to the original dimensions once the mouse is out.
I've used the hover event and I've created 2 functions:one for the growing effect used on the over status and the other one for the reduce effect used on the out status.In IE 7 I've got this error: the growing function is working but the reduction function is not working at all the error code on javascript it's only "Invalid property value".
Here some code:
function makeBig(){ $(this).animate({ "opacity":"0.80", "width":"200px",
I have a script which loads tooltips on my webpage. The tooltips are embedded within a series of table cells. Initially some columns are visible and some are hidden. Columns which are visible by default work just fine. The problem is columns that are hidden by default are not loading the tooltip.
Each cell has a span which is hidden by default with the class "show-tooltip-text". The purpose of this code is to add a hover event to the parent of this span which is the td element.
I'm trying to create a switch image code that will allow the new image to be a link as well. In the list item where you'll see ('blue.jpg') if I try to make this an anchor tag - it breaks the code.
<head> <script> function switch1(div) { if (document.getElementById('blue')) {
I'm writing an image gallery script in which the thumbnail for the currently-viewed image is indicated with a smaller image below the thumbnail. My placeholder is as follows:
<img name="indicator0" alt="indicator>
with indicator1, indicator2, etc. following, one below each thumbnail. In my script, which placeholder has the indicator is called by the variable thumbIndicator. I'd like to be able to do that like this:
I have a nested lists. I'm using hover event to trigger an event. But when I hover child nodes, the event of theancestor list is being fired. How can I get rid of this situation
As far as I know, there's no event for which a text in a textarea is highlighted. For instance, I want an event to fire when the word "your" in the textarea below is either clicked, highlighted, or brought into focus. HTML Code: <textarea> This is a text area... your text here
I have the following as a code for an image rotation on each click (with three images)... when I load the page the first image loads fine and I click on it twice and the other two images switch smoothly, but then click a third time to go back to the first image and it doesn't go back to the first image. here's the javascript:
Code:
imgs=Array("pics/adv/chrebMs1.jpg","pics/adv/chrebMs2.jpg","pics/adv/chrebM.jpg"); var x=0; function change() {
Im creating a javascript content expander and would like to know how to create it so it changed the image from an down arrows to open the box, and a down arrow to close the box.Here is my current code.
Code:
<script type="text/javascript"> //var persistmenu="yes" var persisttype="sitewide"
[code].....
I want the <div class="rightnews"> thing to change from an up arrow to a down arrow.Here are the icons im using.for the box to contract:
If I use the return keyword to exit the function/loop after they set up the first image rollover, it works perfectly on the first image. However, if I comment out the keyword, theId, which is the variable that contains the id of each respective image (which is the same id of the containing link with "1" added to the end) becomes "undefined" (as my JavaScript console says), and thus none of the images work as they're supposed to work. Not even the first one.
I have a div A that when I mouse hover creates and appends in run time another div B inside with an higher z-index. This new div B is a info div that I want to show within the limits of the div A. When I mouse out div A, the div B is removed. The problem is that when I mouse hover the B div, it runs the mouse out event of the div A, and cleans the div B, and I want to maintain it while the mouse is still on the boundaries of the div A! Is there a way to avoid the mouse out event of the div A when the mouse is on top of the div B? IS is necessary to calculate the coordinates of the mouse and check if it is in the boundaries of the div A? By the way, I am using live("mouseover",fn) and live("mouseout",fn) to handle the mouse hover events.
I have a site where i switch between two images using some JavaScript. What I need is to be able to set a session variable or something so that if someone selects shading on or off it sticks to that for the rest of the session.
Any idea or even a point in the right direction. Do i need cookies or is there a simple way to do this
