TD Rowspan With Image Not Spanning Rows / Resolve This?
Mar 18, 2011
I have an html table with six rows and two columns. I have what it is supposed to look like here. But, what is really confusing me is that with the exact same source code snippet inside wordpress here is not displaying the same output, the image does not span both rows? I am super confused by this behaviour. Has anybody ever run across this error before?

Two fairly basic questions:
I need to supply a method with an array of strings, which will
eventually be used to pattern match against another array of strings.
1. Is there a good way to span multiple lines when creating an array
from a list of strings? (I want the most readable list I can get.)
// The following doesn't seem to work
urlExclusions = newArray(
"my.domain.com/dir1",
"another.domain.com/dir2",
"third.domain.com/blah"
);
2. When I'm looping over the above array in a method, what's the best
way to use these as patterns to match? Does "new
RegExp(urlExclusions[i], "i") do all the necessary escaping of
whatever literals might be in the urlExclusions[i] string? (All
characters in the above strings should be treated as a literals. I
don't intend for that list to be a place to put RegEx.)
Example: I want to do something like this with the list:
for (var i=0; i < urlExclusions.length; i++) {
pattern = new RegExp(urlExclusions[i], 'i');
if (pattern.test('http://my.domain.com/dir1')) {
document.write("Matched");
} else {
document.write("Didn't Match);
}
}

It's kind of hard to start explaining what i did or maybe even harder why i did it that way. But ok i neededtext replacement for custom fonts. Cufon couldn't be used because of the large amount of text and javascript in general on the site. It should play nice on IE6 that's why i chose to use facelift(server side text to image replacement). The problem arose when i needed to show a different font on hover state. I created two elements with the same position and now i want to switch them on hover state! It's actually working but when hovering fast over the different elements the hover state's mixes up ending ugly and wrong...

I am trying to create a tree table (javascript code was adopted from
online source) but the rowspan in td tag does not work well when I
toggle the rows. Here is the sample code, notice the row "4" should be
in the Type 1 section (click on the arrow and expand it, it will
display correctly), but when it is collapsed, it is pushed downwards to
Type 2 section. Could not figure out what is the reason. Any ideas? Code:

using the fixedheadertable.js plugin I bumped into what looks likes an underlying bug of Jquery. Atextarea in a rowspaned cells doesn't fill the subsequent rows ; except if a arbitrary string (a single character do)is put before the textarea. The following spans correctly the 5 rows (taken from the demo test.html of the plugin.the html is very simple and looks valid):

I've been working on getting a table with a super header and sub headers to only sort by the sub headers. The example at [URL] shows this is possible but everytime I try to run the code the items in the top row are used to sort columns starting with 0. I've tried two different versions of jquery and re-downloaded Tablesorter twice now. It seems as if this should be easy and I'm just missing some amazingly simple thing.
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN" "http://www.w3.org/
TR/html4/strict.dtd"> <html>

I have some JQuery that makes an Ajax call and then adds some rows to an existing table.
function
LoadDestinationTable() {
$("#destinationTable tr:gt(0)"[code]...
The problem is that the only place where the click event fires is on the rows that were added when the page was 1st rendered – the th, for example.I also tried adding an onclick event handler to the input button’s creation – that also does not fire.

I realize this script and I do not know where to begin:
1) A simple grid rows / columns.
2) The first column contain an input type = "checkbox"
3) When select the input type, the line should change color than the other rows, and you should open a popup window.
For points 1, 2 you are OK. Point 3 is the difficulty.

I am trying to do a setInterval to switch the background-image of a div. The switch will happen every second.
Here is the html code...
On firefox 6 and IE9, it switches just fine. On IE8 and Chrome it switches once and then stops.
Not sure why it is working in the newer browsers and not the older ones. I know there were some new javascript features added to the newer browsers, but i cant figure out where the error is occurring.

I am fairly new to javascript and am having trouble clearing a text field. I am making a "vending machine simulator" as an exercise. I have a button that is the coin return, and should clear the balance display. e.g the machine shows a balance of $2 inserted, the coin return button should clear it to 0.
I believe I have done everything correctly but get NaN as the output (a text field named "box1"). I believe it has something to do with how the field is validated. It has number precision set to 2, which I would think would just become 0.00 or something. Anyways, here is my code code...

I am really confused. I want to make a <p> tag hidden using javascript, and then, if i detect its running IE, i want to make it visible. I can't even make it hidden though. I have tried code... and I've tried both of these variations with the getElementById('warning') instead of plain old document.warning too. Nothing works. I've even tried setting display to none. What is going on?

This code runs prefect in FireFoc but IE7 will only process the first request. I remember reading something about IE of processing first respondText and if invalid character are in there it no not process any more. I am just passing plain HTML and rather using innerHTML because it seems earlier than using XML and i really don't see any benefit on using XML. is there any way i can get this to work nicely in IE?
