I have a simple slideshow script that I would like to add a play and pause button to. How can I do this?
I eventually would like to also add a rewind and fast forward button or timeline bar but I thought I would start small.

To play a constant loop of audio on my site that autoplays (which i know, typically people hate... but, i'm doing it anyways on this site).
How to add one button in my html body that is CSS style-able that will both pause and then when clicked again resume playing the audio?
I spent a while figuring out how to get a Js slideshow to work on a website and then my client asked me to add a pause, play, back and forward button to it. I haven't had any luck trying to add one so I was wondering if anyone could lend me a hand.

I have a set of flash files called inside iframe. I need to put a play/ stop button into the parent html to control the flash. I tried using document.getElementById[iframename](playerId) but the JavaScript is not recognizing the flash object.
I am using strobe media playback. Is there any way I can communicate to flash object using javascript?

I have an image slideshow that works fine and, I may be being over ambitious but I'd like to combine the Play and Pause buttons so that when the slideshow is playing, the Play button is replaced by the Pause button and when it is paused the Pause button is replaced by the Play button.
Sounds like a simple JavaScipt change image function but both buttons have roll over effects and they both have different JavaScript functions assigned to them so I'm struggling to get my head around what I need to do.

I want the slideshow to be in pause mode when the page loads. I can add a button to resume but can't figure out how to pause on load.I've tried several things. Here's the last attempt that didn't work.

i have a photo slideshow that loads in the header so when the page is loaded the slide show is there on the left.
it looks like this (page layout)

where it says image i am adding an image, that colum is controlled by the header so i added a div in there for the image.
what is happening is that since the image is small and the slideshow is large, when the page loads the single image pops up for a second where the slide show is, then it moves down on the page where it should be. I know this is caused by the fact that the image loads faster than the slideshow so we see the image first in that space.
what i am trying to do is pause the single image load until the slideshow loads,
but i dont know how?
I cant move the image down and load it in the body because that left side column is controlled by the header slideshow it has to be part of it when it loads.
has to be a way to make the slide show load on the page and then the image.

I'm not a complete Javascript idiot but I am new to Jquery and not used to the way it's written so I'm having a little trouble figuring out how to do what I need to do. I'm working with the jquery slideshow called "spacegallery". Here's a link:[URL].. As you can see, when you click on the front image, it triggers the animation to the next slide. I'd like to set this up on a timer so it'll happen automatically.
Here's a link to the JS file doing the actual work:[URL].. The key function is "next", which starts at line 57. This function is "bound" to each individual image - I think, or maybe to the image container as a whole - at line 118.
I tried using setTimeout (line 191) to trigger "next", but it complains that "el is undefined". I think this is because "next" is expecting a parent node that was clicked - an image element or something like that.
So I think I need to figure out how to pass the current/front-most image element in my setTimeout call of "next". But I can't figure out how to get a handle on that element - doesn't seem to be an obvious array of image elements I can grab, or a current element counter.
Perhaps another approach would be to actually "click" the current main image element somehow in Javascript, so the code registers a click? Not sure if that can be done - can it?
I would like user to be able to switch photos manually (with "next" and "previous" links ) or automatically, i.e., to have a link on the page that says "play slideshow" or something, then the slides switch automatically, like this guy has here, [URL] ("play" link in the middle switches photos automatically; he doesn't use cycle plugin, but I'd like to do this w/cycle plugin if possible..)

The code works as it should! (The button is in the top-left corner)
But there are 2 things I would want to improve. Unfortunately I can't fix them myself.
1) I don't want to use a button for pausing the gifs. Instead, I want the gifs to pause when <img id="tiles-img" ...> is clicked.
So what I tried is to replace the line obj=document.getElementById('button'); with obj=document.getElementById('tiles-img');
But then, it doesn't work anymore. Why?
2) The button only starts working from the 2nd click on? (No gif pausing at 1st click)
I'm using jCarousel Lite to power a content slider on a site. It has been working great, but I now have the need for a pause button to pause the auto rotation of the slides. I'm having a problem that I thought would be simple, but it's driving me crazy!I simply want to play a short .wav sound when a button or image is clicked. I have one that plays once when the page opens, but I don't want that. Basically, I want to make it so there is a button, and when you click it, it plays a random song from a list of songs that would be in the code. I am not completely sure if this is possible or not.
I know how to make the button, that is simple.
Does anyone know how (and if it's possible) to create buttons or text that will play a sound on mousedown/onclick/mouseover?

I've got a quick and little jQuery script set up so that when I hover over a div (#meatHome), a smaller div with a play button pops up (#playVideo). When you hit play, a div with a youtube embed comes up and plays (#promoVideo). Everything works, save for the fact that once the video comes up, I don't want the play button to come up anymore when I hover over it.

Which succesfully hides the #playVideo div permanently but fails to show the video div. If I swap out ($("#promoVideo")) with a simple string of text, it appears to work just fine. Can anybody shed some light on my plight?

01) I would like to rollover (onmouseover?) a button that is a video and have the video (button) play. (A 5 sec video that stops at end)
02) On rolloff (onmouseoff?) the same button I would like it to rewind to the beginning for next rollover.
03) I would like to add more of these "Video Button Rollovers" to the same website page in the future. I would like to use DreamWeaver CS4, and stay away from flash for more accessibility and less memory intensive overhead. (obviously no control-bar for video)
I have all the parts to this to try a variety of solutions. The video is a box with untied string on a white background. When played a person fades-on and ties the string into a bow. (white background matches website background)

I am using the youtube chromeless player and embeding videos with loadVideoById() method problem is that videos with an id that contains an underscore or dash dont play although they play in the normal player. I also tried replacing with a hex value in querystring i.e (%5f) but that did not work I also tried loadVideoByUrl() method with several urls but still they don't load. here is my code

I'm fairly new to Javascript, and i'm wondering how I could implement a sort of 'buttons' inside an image in a slideshow. An example of what I mean can be found here: [URL].. I would like to implement a slideshow like that, where users can press the index number of the image they would like to see. However, the index numbers should be available inside an image (like in the example above).

So I'm largely okay with that, have found the #nav container and defined my background-image images but these are overwritten by textual digits and I'm not sure where these are generated from. there is some kind of flash rotator on the home page. This is my code attempt to move between preloaded swf animations using javascript. I've tried giving id of the object or embed but this won't help. Of course this is not that simple and the code isn't working. My intent is to have animation change when clicking the next button.
