I am trying to change a piece of text using onmouseover. I have tried a few
things so far and nothing has really worked. I get get a new piece of text
to appear but bastardizing someone elses code, but can't figure out how to
hide the other one....
I sort of have the following but don't know if this is close to the best way
of doing it really...
Basically I want to have a piece of text, lets say TEXT1, that changes from
blue to red, and to TEXT2 while the mouse is over it.
I know nothing really about Java so have had a look around but got no
futher....

So now the onmouseover has again its value [the original one, copied by doing an alert($("#"+elem+i).attr('onmouseover')) when i disable the onmouseover event], but it doesn't work
How does setTimeout work? If the user moves the mouse or types some text
into a form, does it reset the timer? Or does it start running when first
triggered and simply timeout after that amount of time?
For example, if the timeout is set to 5 minutes and after 4.5 mins, the user
moves the mouse over the screen, does the timer reset to 5 mins or will it
still timeout after another 30 seconds?

I have managed to get the current X and Y coordinates, but other than checking periodically for changed coordinates, is there a way to do this? I want to be able to trigger the code pretty instantly when the window is moved. Probably not possible without checking every half a second - this would be too cpu intensive right?

I have a very generic webpage that I created to attempt to show a rule that is used. I have used some drag and drop language that I found which enables me to drag and drop elements on the page. This is great. My problem is I have a total of 6 drag and drop items in two catagories. CML and nonCML. If one nonCML is used, I'd like two of the CML objects to disappear. (disappear could even be turning white to make them hidden). I'm very new to Javascript. Is there easy code that would say if an item from Catagory 1 is moved, have 2 items from Catagory 2 disappear?

Everything works perfectly, except the form fields don't update once the marker is moved. I expect this is a really elementary javascript mistake!?
In PS you press CTRL+T on new layer. 9 handles appears an then you can stretch/rotate/move that layer. Looking just for that stretch & rotate functionality with dotted/dashed retangle outline. That is, there should be 8 handles on rectangle boundarys and then rectangle should be rotated & stretched via those points. & moved via nineth center point.

Is there any way to fix this issue without modifying the contents of script tags? We have customers who may add script to their CRM and would be beyond my control. I have included an example of the issue. Note that this can occur in wrapAll, sortable, and anything else which directly modifies the dom.

I just got this script for a countdown on a website and I got it to work locally but when I upload it to the server i get the error "index.html:22 Uncaught TypeError: Object [object Object] has no method 'fancycountdown'".

I have a simple hide and fadeIn. When you rollover a word it will reveal the definition. The problem I am having is if you move the mouse around quickly from one word to the next word sometimes it gets hung up and a definition will not hide. The result gives this hanging defintion and whatever the other definition the mouse is rolledover.
Here is the code I'm using:
There are about 70 words in a box with the definition being reveals on the right hand side. Is there a way of making sure there is always only one definition being shown?

I have a table with two columns and two rows in it. In the upper left corner, I
have a logo image for my company. In the top right column/cell, I have some
navigational stuff, no big deal. In the left cell in the 2nd row, I have a list
of anchors of different songs I am producing - something like this:

The cell on the right, 2nd row is empty at the start.
On the 2nd row, 1st cell, where the anchors are, on a "mouse over" event, I'd
like to display song lyrics and information regarding the song in the right
cell, 2nd row as the user moves the mouse over a given anchor.
What is the best way for me to do this? There are a couple of things/issues I
can think of right away:
1) Let's say there are 20 anchors in the left column. Let's say that some of
the songs' lyrics are quite lengthy and extend past the height of the cell at
row 2, left column. How would the system know this in advance (this will make
more sense with question #2 below)? Perhaps tell it some type of maximum height
you know will never be reached or something?
2) To me it doesn't make a lot of sense to include all this text in the main
HTML file since a majority of the time, the user(s) will never move their mouse
across ALL the anchors, only one or two. Seems to me there should be some way
of "loading" them as soon as the mouse over event occurs.
I am trying to capture the onmouseout event on an option. I know there
is no mouseover/out event(in IE 6), therefore I ask, does anyone have
a work around?
Essentially what I need is a tooltip that displays the entire contents
of a dropdown/select if the contents of the option are getting
truncated due to the width of the dropdown/select. And I want to do
this while the dropdown/select is expanded.
Can some recommend an open source 3rd party control if there is no
solution when using the standard select?
