Onclick Or Login Function In Javascript

May 15, 2007

I would like to ask how can i resolve my problem regarding the onlick or login function in javascript. Here is the scenario. I have a billing server with web. In this web I have a cutomer_login and account_login which we be the access of my client to see their account_details, records, etc. We have created a new website, we can call this site1. On our site1 we wanted to integrate the login process of our billing login to site1. When user/client tries to login to our site1, we wanted that the site1 will be the once to login to the blling server, after logging to site, they will be able to see their records.

The developers of my billing gave me some integration script for the site1. But it seems its not working. They told me to create a function that will redirect site1 login to my billing site. I'm really a newbie to javascript, so if anyone could please help. Below are the script that was given to me by our billing support. Code:

I want a hidden div that will have a html form for login and I have a link I want when the user click the link the div appear above the link so the user can login. I have this code (I am using Codeigniter framework I think it has nothing to do).

Overriding '<a Href' With '<a OnClick' For JavaScript Function OpenWindow(URL) For Image And Link...

Jul 23, 2005

Can anyone assist me with what I am trying to do with the following
code (six different scenarios to try to make the functionality work
correctly)?

I want to always (and ONLY) display in the status bar 'Symantec
Corporation' whenever anyone mouses over (onMouseOver) my image or
link OR when one clicks while holding the left mouse down (onClick) on
the same image or link. Upon releasing the mouse (onMouseOut), the
status bar should be 'blank'. I need the link to open in a new window
via my function openWindow(URL) code.

What is happening in most of the six scenarios, is that when one
clicks the link, either the function doesn't engage, but rather the <a
href= takes effect instead OR that status bar shows
'javascript:openWindow('http://www.symantec.com/');' when one clicks
while holding the left mouse down (onClick) on the image or link.

Additionally, for only the link, I need the CSS/style to show 'red'
when one mouses over (onMouseOver) it and then change to 'blue' upon
releasing the mouse (onMouseOut).

How about integrating 'style="cursor:hand"' into the code or perhaps
setting some of the data via a <div> or <span> snippet? Code:

HTTP Server Login From Javascript?

Aug 2, 2006

Ref. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/834489/en-us

Now that http://username:password@site.com no longer is an accepted
syntax in IE, I suddenly have a case in a project I'm working on. The easiest(?)
solution would now be that there was some Javascript function that
could pass the username and password or in som other way automate the login
process on a given site.

Thing is I have a server-generated HTML page that I want to make the
client redirect to a password protected site. (IIS Windows authentication).

Before: location.href='http://name:pwd@site.com'

Automatic Yahoo!mail Or Gmail Login By Javascript

Jul 23, 2005

I'd like to write a HTML page which can help me directly log in my
Yahoo!mail or Gmail account without typing user name and password.
Basically, I want to set up a link, click it and pop up the Yahoo/Gmail
page.

What technology is most appropriate for this kind of work?

My current solution is not so satisfying: I download Yahoo!Mail page
and save it to local file; then using Javascript to load that file and
set up user name, password, submit it to Yahoo.

This works with Yahoo, but not Gmail. I haven't got time to investigate
why.

The thing I hate about this solution is: for every email provider, I
need to download their page and write corresponding page to
access/modify it.

Login Page On Schools Educational Online Platform Doesn't Remember The Login Info?

Dec 22, 2009

In Chrome, the login page on my schools educational online platform doesn't remember the login info. So i made a bookmark with this javascript injection, that fills in the info, and focusses on the 'aanmelden' button (='login' in dutch), so that i only have to press enter to continue. Here's the javascript injection:javascript: ocument.getElementById('username').value='23889493984';document.getElementById('password').value='4 42384985';return false;document.getElementById('login').focus();This works fine but i'd like to make it happen faster. I wish i could let the script be activated instantly when the page loads, so i only have to press enter, or if possible, let the script click the login button itself.

I removed the " around the javascript:ajaxpage('login.php'); as it was giving me syntax error. But I am unable to cal login .php upon clicking Login. I tried various combination of single quote and double quote but I think I am missing some fundamental rules of single and double quote combination....or may be something else.

Changing The Onclick Event In Javascript

Sep 27, 2006

I have the following code:

<script language="JavaScript">
function func1() {
alert("func1 invoked");
}

function func2() {
alert("func2 invoked");
}

function changeFunction() {
var img = document.getElementById('img');
if (window.addEventListener) { // Mozilla, Netscape, Firefox
img.addEventListener('click', func2, false);
}
else {// IE
img.attachEvent('onClick', func2);
}
}
</script>
<img id="img" src="test.jpg" width="10" height="10" onClick="func1();"></img>

when the image is clicked with the mouse, function func1 is invoked as expected. When I call function changeFunction, I want to change the code that is invoked when the image is clicked from func1 to func2. Instead, both are invoked because addEventListener and attachEvent add an additional handler instead of setting one.

I am looking for a way to change the handler from one function to another. Can anyone think of a solution probably using removeEventListener?

Dynamically Writing Html/javascript From A Javascript Function

Jul 23, 2005

I'm working on some code and am running into brick walls. I'm trying
to write out Javascript with Javascript and I've read the clj Meta FAQ
and didn't see the answer, read many similar posts (with no luck
though), and searched through the IRT.ORG Faqs
(www.irt.org/script/script.htm).

The Javascript is designed to open an popup window and then inside that
window call another script which will resize that window. There may be
another way around this but the reason I tried this approach initially
was that I wanted to call the onload handler in the popup window to
resize the image only after the image had completely loaded. I've had
some code in the primary Javascript file (showimage.js) before that
works if the image has been cached but on the first load, it doesn't
resize properly which tells me it is probably because it is trying to
resize the window based on the image size but it isn't completely known
at that point. So I removed that code and tried placing the resizing
code in the second Javascript file (resizewindow.js). BTW I've tried
other code to open a popup image and automatically size it ie Q1443 at
irt.org but that doesn't do exactly what we need.

Even if there is another way to do this with one file, I still want to
figure out why this isn't working in case I run into it in the future.

I thought what I would need to do to use document.writeln to write
Javascript would be to escape any special characters and to break
apart the script tag ie

document.writeln('</SCRIPT>');

would become

document.writeln('</SCR' + 'IPT>');

I have a HTML page and 2 Javascript files. All files are in the same
directory and have permissions set correctly.

Here are the 3 files (keep in mind wordwrap has jacked up the
formatting):

index.html
----------
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN">
<html>
<head>
<title>Test</title>
<SCRIPT type="text/javascript" LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1"
SRC="showimage.js">
</SCRIPT>
</head>

<body>
Click the house<BR>
<A ONCLICK="newWindow1('house1.jpg','Nice House')"><IMG
SRC="house1thumb.jpg"></A>
</body>
</html>

showimage.js
------------
function newWindow1(pic,sitename)
{

picWindow=window.open('','','width=25,height=25,sc rollbars=1,resizable=1');
picWindow.document.writeln('<html> <head>');
picWindow.document.writeln('<SCR' + 'IPT type="text/javascript"
LANGUAGE="JavaScript1.1" SRC="resizewindow.js"></SCR' + 'IPT>');
picWindow.document.writeln('</head>');
picWindow.document.writeln('<body onload="resizewindow();">');
picWindow.document.writeln('<img src=' + pic + '>');
picWindow.document.writeln('</body> </html>');
picWindow.document.close();
}

resizewindow.js
---------------
function resizewindow()
{
// Do resizing here.
// Right now this isn't being executed
alert("resizing window");
}

Can anyone provide some pointers as to why this javascript is failing?
I'm using IE6 on Win2k and when I click on the image to open the popup
window, it does open the window but it is white with no content and the
system immediately goes from about 4% CPU usage to 100% and
consistently stays there until I kill that window with the task
manager.

Javascript Onclick Event On Submit Button

I created a "cancel" button for my form at the clients' request, I
accidentally copied a submit button and added an OnClick event- a very
simple javascript.history function. It did not appear to work at all-
it kept submitting the form. I changed the submit button to a plain
old button and it worked fine.

Can anyone explain how the browser works with a javascript onClick
event ona submit button? Does it automatically submit the form no
matter what onClick event you use?

Wanted: Workaround To Javascript:show(...); Instead Of OnClick ForNetscare 4

Jul 20, 2005

I was calling a function in a js file from an image onClick event, but
someone still using Netscape 4 (!) complained that it didn't work. I
read that img onClick doesn't work in Netscape 4, so swithced it to
"javascript:show(...);" and the code works, but I read in this group
that it was not wise to do that, here's the working version, using the
not recommended approach:

<a href="javascript:show('art_2.jpg',÷»',ò^');" target="_self">

I'd appreciate any suggetions that will let me call the "show" function
from an onClick image event that will work in most IE/Netscape 4+ browsers.

Difference In Calling Javascript In Href And Onclick Of Anchor Tag.

Jan 18, 2006

I am looking for a generic javascript function to identify the form with in which a element exists, thus developer can avoid coding like document.forms[index].submit() - where they are sure, they want the form with in which this element exists is to be submitted. This way when forms are introduced at top level the code can remain unchanged, else every form introduce above in the DOM will result in increasing the index by one.

The code is given below. While doing so i am stuck with 2 problems
P1: In the code, you can see i am giving a explicit 'break' in the code. If i don't do so the code seems to be looping. Obviously i am missing some basic.

P2: I am able to pass 'this' for anchor element by name="xy"
<a href="#" name="xy"

in its onclick function by which, in the javascript function i move up the DOM.

While i am unable to do that on the anchor element given below since this function is now on the href attribute.

<a name="xy1" href="javascript:doFormSubmit(this);">Q test</a>

Hence the script fails. Code:
