I am trying integrate an upload system from YouSendIt.com in to my companies forms. The code they give for integration is basically an iframe with a coded URL set for the source. Their server sends a postback using HTTP Post method but I am not sure how to access the data that is sent back. I do not need to display it but I need to use it for validation purposes in the rest of my form. The Iframe code is as such:
I have written an Ajax application which can send http HEAD requests and receive the header response from server.
Now I want to show the different values in formatted manner. However, there seems be no character or expression which I can use to split the HEAD response for string processing.

Initially I (successfully) tested my project after deploying to the Apache server which is running in the localhost.
But, if I just open the page in a browser (without deploying to the server), the project works fine! How this is possible?
According to my understanding, if we send an AJAX request, which is really an HTTP request, which has to be received by an HTTP server and the response should come from the server.
I am using jquery.ajax() to make a POST call to web server which returns HTTP 201 response for successful creation of object at server. Since 201 is a success I expect the success function specified with jquery.ajax to execute but instead it executes the error function specified with jquery.ajax. The problem is: how can I send the username and password to the server in a securely way? I mean, if the server sends the whole page in HTTP then the user wants to log in, he would not be able to send it in HTTPS, unless the server sends the login page to the user in HTTPS. But I would like this thing to happen with no full page refresh.
Is it possble to do a HTTP post request inside JavaScript? - That is I don't want to use a HTML FORM, but need a JavaScript to post a value to a PHP script not encoding the parameters in a URL.
I'd like to make an HTTP request using JavaScript but not with the XMLHttpRequest object. I'm attempting to make this request to a different domain to get information and the security of modern browsers won't allow this with the XMLHttpRequest object.
Is there another way to do this in JavaScript? Oh and I'm not taking advantage of the asynchronous nature that object either, so that's not a criteria for a potential solution.
I am trying to write a script which will allow me to read the contents of an HTTP web page into memory, parse the data, and output a calculated value.
The HTTP page is on a web enable appliance - I am reading some data out of a table for further calculation. I can't modify the web appliance, only read the text data.

I'd like to write a HTML page which can help me directly log in my Yahoo!mail or Gmail account without typing user name and password. Basically, I want to set up a link, click it and pop up the Yahoo/Gmail page.
What technology is most appropriate for this kind of work?
My current solution is not so satisfying: I download Yahoo!Mail page and save it to local file; then using Javascript to load that file and set up user name, password, submit it to Yahoo.
This works with Yahoo, but not Gmail. I haven't got time to investigate why.
The thing I hate about this solution is: for every email provider, I need to download their page and write corresponding page to access/modify it.
Is there any way at all I can get a user's login name from within JavaScript on Unix/Linux with Mozilla browser. If not, how about the home directory? I want two buttons: one for login and another for logout. Initially login button is enabled and logout button is disabled. When I click on login button, the logout button should get enabled and the login button should get disabled. And after that, when i click on logout, the login button should get enabled and the logout button should get disable.

I have a a html page that is used as a login page.I know it is not secure but this is just for learning purposes, I'm not using it for anything important.My problem is that when I put in the correct login all that happens is the page just clears the text boxes as if you were starting over.I am trying to get it to go to register.html which is located in the same directory as the login page.
I removed the " around the javascript:ajaxpage('login.php'); as it was giving me syntax error. But I am unable to cal login .php upon clicking Login. I tried various combination of single quote and double quote but I think I am missing some fundamental rules of single and double quote combination....or may be something else.

I have three different web pages with different domains, and I want to show some pages of one of the webs in the others.
I use an iframe for this and it shows it good until I have to call a javascript function in the iframe inside page, I have a permission denied because the domains of these pages are different.
So, the cuestion is:
Is there some way to call the javascript function of the iframe from the parent page?
