The user enters a serial number in the "Serial_Number" field and hits enter I would like the cursor to move DOWN to the next "Serial_Number" field. Is this possible??
The following function() works fine on Chrome and Firefox but Internet F*C*I*G Explorer is showing a warning: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. This function only load a few data into a SELECT, just that.
Code: function cargarCanales() { var ciudad = document.getElementById("ciudad").value; var startTime = "<?php echo $startTime; ?>"; var endTime = "<?php echo $endTime; ?>"; cantCanales = getCanales(ciudad,startTime,endTime);
Up here works fine. If I check cantCanales with "alert" function I get a normal value. for (i = 1; i <= cantCanales; i++) { canal.options[i]=new Option(i, i); }
Here everything is stopped, so I think that may be the problem is the "FOR" but how I said, on Chrome and Firefox everything works fine. $("#canal").attr("disabled",false); } My SELECT.: Code: <select id="canal" name="canal"><option value="0">Select Channels..</option></select>
I call the function cargarCanales() from here: Code: $("#ciudad").change(function(){cargarCanales();}); When the select CIUDAD change, the cargarCanales function loads.. The full error message : [URL]
I have a roll-over image at the top of one of my web pages, I want it that when you click on it, the page moves to the bottom and sets focus in the first text-field in the first form. Its a contact button, with the first field being name, I've tried for like 3 hours solid and getting very fed up.
I have a javascript program that uses a HTML table as an Excel-like grid. The user can use arrow keys to navigation the grid. When the user selects a cell and then hits <Enter> key, the program turns the cell from read-only to editable (an input box), and select all the text in the input box. When the user hits <Esc>, the program cancels the changes that the user has made and turns the cell back to read-only. So far so good. The problem is that as soon as the user hits <Esc> key and turns the cell back to read-only, I find that I cannot move the input focus back to the cell any more. Actually I cannot move the input focus back to _any_ cell in the table. When this happens, the user cannot use arrow keys to navigate the grid any more (like the grid has lost the input focus). The user needs to use the mouse to click at a cell in the table to get things working again.
The user can get around with this problem by un-selecting the text from the input-box before hitting <Esc>. But this is not something that I expect the user to remember to do. I need a way to fix this problem. I tried the logical thing and programmatically un-select the text before turning the cell back to read-only. But this actually made thing worse - this causes the workaround to stop working.
The only browsers that I have tested this program is IE6 and IE8. I have not tested this in any other browser.
Attached is a simplified version of the program that can show this problem in action. This simplified program first adds an empty table on the web page, and then creates an instance of the CEstGrid class that takes care of the grid. CEstGrid will add two rows of test data into the table with two columns in each row. The user should use a mouse to click at one of the cell, and the cell should be highlighted. The user uses arrow keys to navigate the table. When he reaches the end of the table, he will wrap around to the other side of the table. Let say the user reaches the cell in row-1 column-2, he hits <Enter> to change the cell to editable. He will find the text in that cell to be highlighted. When he hits <Esc> at this moment, he will find that he cannot use the arrow keys to navigate the table any more, and this is the problem. Please rename the test program from .TXT to .HTML to test it.
I am trying to figure out how to move to the beginning of text boxes and text areas after the event call in a form. For the most part, I have two text boxes that don't have a maximum length and one text area that could span several lines of text. When the event call is made to fill out the remaining text boxes and update the text area (if necessary) I would like to have each of these elements display from the first character on instead of remaining where they were at when the entries were made.
Is there any way to move text over an AVI or shockwave object. i have put each one in its own <div> and can move them around and over each other. when i have text on text or on pictures its fine. but when i try to move text over a shockwave it disappears. i have set the z indexes etc but no luck.
how to do what i wanted. I've got a .pdf file with a bunch of text fields, i would like it to make it so that when the user has focus (is writing in or clicked it) on of the fields it shows a different field with information on how to fill out that field and which field to procede to. Ive figured out how to show a field when focus is on another field, but cant get it to hide again when focus goes to something else.
I am trying to move some text by clicking a button. When clicked the button runs the java script and this will then take the value in the text field and add 10 to it to create a new value, this is then used to move the text (id=h1) to a new position and to display the new value in a text field. My script is below but does not work. Im new to javascrip and there is probably something embarasingly obviour that Im missing. Code:
I've got a text area called Notes in a form called frmMain.
And I've got a JavaScript function.
Within the JavaScript function what code can I use to move the cursor to the text area field and specifically within that field I'd like the cursor to be exactly 10 characters into the field?
Here is an example of a scrolling window and the codes about it:
[Code]...
I have some questions about it:
a)Can i move the text from top to the buttom?(which is the opposite from what it moves now). b)How can i make the text to move nonstop?In other words when it stops to start again. c)I have used the obj.style.left=pos in order to make the text move from left to right but i want it to move all horizontally in one line only.How could i do that?
I am trying to create an Image menu for a site I'm working on that is rather simple in essence. When the user hovers over a button I have the menu will move left or right depending. I have not got a great deal into it yet as I have become stuck, as I'm new I figured it would be easier to troubleshoot if I build up the program bit by bit.
I have taken a class on PHP and started making some math homework and drills for the tutoring I do. I have asked my kids for feedback and they are telling me that it is inconvenient to hit tab to go to the next text box (They have small arms/fingers..)I then thought of a brilliant ideaLets say it was 12 divided by 3. If they wrote a 4 in the input area, the JavaScript would recognize the correct answer and automatically move to the next box. However, if they wrote a 3 in the box, the JavaScript wouldn't move over.This kills two birds with one stone. The inconvenience of hitting tab or clicking on the next box disappears, and they are forced to put in the correct answer.Ironically, I have learned PHP and skipped over JavaScript. Which code would I use to do this?
I'd like to have the cursor in the login form's username input text field when users load the login page. It works fine with the following implementation:
Assuming I have the functions, "isNumber" and "isEmpty", how would I write the HTML INPUT type="text" element such that a person cannot exit the element unless they have typed in a valid number (as defined by the function isNumber) or left the field empty (as defined by isEmpty)? Thus, if they have typed in "aaa" and then pressed "Tab" to go the next element, they'd get a warning message, and be returned to the old element?
Ideally, this solution would work for both the latest versions of Firefox and IE.
when iam usig java script function to textbox,For text length minimum 4 chars, alert is raising enter minimum 4 chars, but cursor is not focus on text box, when i click on alert "OK".Here the code written.
function min() { var len=document.getElementById("tx1").value;[code].....
I tried to create a new text input once the last text box gets focus. But I cant even type in them because every time it gets focus a new text input is created! I really dunno what to do.
I have an input (type="text") with some default text telling the user to enter something in the box. The input tag includes an onmousedown event which runs javascript function to clear the default text so the user can start entering their own text.This setup behaves in two possible ways, one is good and one is bad:
Good: If the user clicks inside the text box, but after the default text, the text gets cleared and the cursor shows up at the beginning of the text box.
Bad: If the user clicks inside the text box, but directly on the default text, the text gets cleared, but the cursor is not displayed and the text box does not have the focus. In order to start typing, the user must click on the text box again.
So my question is: If the cursor is inside a string of text which gets cleared, is there a way to reinstate the cursor and the text box focus?
I'm trying to write a data checking function that after it completes should return the focus to the text box that was checked and highlight everything in it IF the value was unacceptableHere is the function:
<script type="text/javascript"> function chkValidity(numToCheck) {
