I have problems using IE with my web Page, but just using IE. If I use Chrome or Firefox everything works fine.
I have three combinated combobox. The first two of them, are different that third one.

I am having some text in the <div> like

And i required to put focus at the end of the text in this div.
e.q if div contains text as My Name in Sam.
And i am using document.getElementById("rxchgeditablediv").focus();
The focus for the mentioned e.g it coming before "My" but my requirement is to put the focus at end means after "Sam"
The following function() works fine on Chrome and Firefox but Internet F*C*I*G Explorer is showing a warning: Can't move focus to the control because it is invisible, not enabled, or of a type that does not accept the focus. This function only load a few data into a SELECT, just that.

I have a roll-over image at the top of one of my web pages, I want it that when you click on it, the page moves to the bottom and sets focus in the first text-field in the first form. Its a contact button, with the first field being name, I've tried for like 3 hours solid and getting very fed up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a javascript program that uses a HTML table as an Excel-like grid. The user can use arrow keys to navigation the grid. When the user selects a cell and then hits <Enter> key, the program turns the cell from read-only to editable (an input box), and select all the text in the input box. When the user hits <Esc>, the program cancels the changes that the user has made and turns the cell back to read-only. So far so good. The problem is that as soon as the user hits <Esc> key and turns the cell back to read-only, I find that I cannot move the input focus back to the cell any more. Actually I cannot move the input focus back to _any_ cell in the table. When this happens, the user cannot use arrow keys to navigate the grid any more (like the grid has lost the input focus). The user needs to use the mouse to click at a cell in the table to get things working again.
The user can get around with this problem by un-selecting the text from the input-box before hitting <Esc>. But this is not something that I expect the user to remember to do. I need a way to fix this problem. I tried the logical thing and programmatically un-select the text before turning the cell back to read-only. But this actually made thing worse - this causes the workaround to stop working.
The only browsers that I have tested this program is IE6 and IE8. I have not tested this in any other browser.
Attached is a simplified version of the program that can show this problem in action. This simplified program first adds an empty table on the web page, and then creates an instance of the CEstGrid class that takes care of the grid. CEstGrid will add two rows of test data into the table with two columns in each row. The user should use a mouse to click at one of the cell, and the cell should be highlighted. The user uses arrow keys to navigate the table. When he reaches the end of the table, he will wrap around to the other side of the table. Let say the user reaches the cell in row-1 column-2, he hits <Enter> to change the cell to editable. He will find the text in that cell to be highlighted. When he hits <Esc> at this moment, he will find that he cannot use the arrow keys to navigate the table any more, and this is the problem. Please rename the test program from .TXT to .HTML to test it.
I am trying to create an Image menu for a site I'm working on that is rather simple in essence. When the user hovers over a button I have the menu will move left or right depending. I have not got a great deal into it yet as I have become stuck, as I'm new I figured it would be easier to troubleshoot if I build up the program bit by bit.

The functions I've implemented so far work perfectly on Firefox, Internet Explorer and other browsers. However, the iPad itself responds a bit different. After a certain action, I want to put focus on a textfield with the help of Javascript. Again, this works perfectly with the normal browser, the iPad browser however seems to be blocking the focus. Is there a way to set the focus on a form field without using focus()? I use ajax to build the form and if I try to set the focus using focus() an error is generate because of the form hasn't been built by ajax. So, it would be nice if I could set the focus() as I built the form.

this stuff liked me very much. That's why I want to ask to the community if anybody knows if there is some plugin or library in JQuery to do the same effects and allows the programmer to move a div from one point of the screen to another one and fix it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to create a screen where there's a box on the left and a box on the right. The left box contains names which can be moved to the box on the right. Between the two boxes will be two buttons, one labeled ">>" to move from left to right and the other labeled "<<" to move from the right to the left.
I've seen this many times but need to create one myself. At first I was thinking of using selection lists with a size of 20 to give it height and also set the width. Then, when a selection is highlighted, the user can click the buttons in the middle to move the selection from one box to the other. Using a selection list gives me access to each individual selection and on the click of the button, I can remove that selection from one list and append it to the other. The problem with this approach is that the grayed out scrollbar is visible. So, I was thinking of using a textarea and that is what brought me here. Does anyone know of such a tool before I try reinventing it?

I currently create a grid of svg circles made up of rows. I can animate a circle from one row moving into another row, sorted by some attribute value. But when I use a selector to fetch all circles within a row I get them ordered by when they were added to the underlying DOM.
Is there a way, if I created a group for each row, that when I move a circle from one row and insert it into another I actually remove the svg object from one group and insert in into the other so that it's correctly positioned in the underlying DOM?
