View 12 RepliesI am using javascript form validation, and jquery to display the error messaging and to highlight the fields. The current behavior is when you click submit, the validation runs returning an error message, and when a user clicks back into the field the error message disappears but the form highlighting (a red border around the field) remains - until the user submits the form again. Additional behavior that's needed (working in firefox but not in IE) is when an error state pops up, the field returning the error is supposed to lose focus, and the user has to click back into the field (which then removes the error message). In IE, the focus is never removed and i need it to:

In FireFox, when one clicks on a fold and the fold expands, and if the mouse pointer is over the expanding content, then focus is drawn to each of the sub-menu items as they pass the mouse pointer. This makes the animation look a bit juddery.
In all other browsers, one clicks on a fold, focus is drawn away from the mouse pointer, the fold expands and then when one moves the mouse again the mouse pointer gets its focus back.You can see this best by clicking on the tabs "curriculum", then "admission", first in IE and then in Firefox.Is there any way to make the mouse pointer give up its focus in Firefox, so when the animation is taking place it ignores such rules as Code CSS:
.sub_link:hover{
background-color:#E8EFCF;
}
which have been applied to the sub-menu items?l would be something like "cursor.blur();" although obviously that won't work.
This time I have a trouble with remove(). Here is my code :
$.each(val.produitsIds,
function (j, val2) {
if($('#chk_' + i).prop("checked")){
//$('#' + val2).prepend("<div>liste des tailles</div>");
$('#' + val2).prepend("<div>" + $('#chk_' + i).attr("value") + "</div>");
}

how to do what i wanted. I've got a .pdf file with a bunch of text fields, i would like it to make it so that when the user has focus (is writing in or clicked it) on of the fields it shows a different field with information on how to fill out that field and which field to procede to. Ive figured out how to show a field when focus is on another field, but cant get it to hide again when focus goes to something else.

I'd like to have the cursor in the login form's username input text field when users load the login page. It works fine with the following implementation:
<body onload="document.login.username.focus();">
<form name="login" method="post" action="<?=$PHP_SELF?>">
<input type="text" name="username" onLoad="self.focus();">
The problem is that the input field's name cannot be simly "username",
because it posts an element of an array, therefore the name is
"upd[username]".
Unfortunately when the above implementation is modified according to
the input field's name, I receive a script error.
<body onload="document.login.upd[username].focus();">
<form name="login" method="post" action="<?=$PHP_SELF?>">
<input type="text" name="upd[username]"
onLoad="self.focus();">
I assume I'd need to escape 'upd[username]' on the 'body onload' line
somehow, but I don't know how.
I have about 60 txt boxes on each page and I need to set a specific box with ID "focusID" to have focus when the page loads.

I am having some text in the <div> like
<div id="rxchgeditablediv" tabindex="112" <%=rxChange.getStringValue(RxChgFieldKeys.RXS_DIRECTIONS)%></div>
And i required to put focus at the end of the text in this div.
e.q if div contains text as My Name in Sam.
And i am using document.getElementById("rxchgeditablediv").focus();
The focus for the mentioned e.g it coming before "My" but my requirement is to put the focus at end means after "Sam"
Assuming I have the functions, "isNumber" and "isEmpty", how would I write the HTML INPUT type="text" element such that a person cannot exit the element unless they have typed in a valid number (as defined by the function isNumber) or left the field empty (as defined by isEmpty)? Thus, if they have typed in "aaa" and then pressed "Tab" to go the next element, they'd get a warning message, and be returned to the old element?
Ideally, this solution would work for both the latest versions of Firefox and IE.

I have an input (type="text") with some default text telling the user to enter something in the box. The input tag includes an onmousedown event which runs javascript function to clear the default text so the user can start entering their own text.This setup behaves in two possible ways, one is good and one is bad:
Good: If the user clicks inside the text box, but after the default text, the text gets cleared and the cursor shows up at the beginning of the text box.
Bad: If the user clicks inside the text box, but directly on the default text, the text gets cleared, but the cursor is not displayed and the text box does not have the focus. In order to start typing, the user must click on the text box again.
So my question is: If the cursor is inside a string of text which gets cleared, is there a way to reinstate the cursor and the text box focus?

First text box, and the last text box, I made them uneditable. What I wanted to do was, setting the cursor focus in the second text box.

If I want to remove "and feels" as well as "quick" I should end up with this: <h4>The brown fox jumps over the lazy dog as if he were in the seventh heaven. Why does it jump over a dog?</h4>
Is this possible? If so can someone provide a working example.
