First text box, and the last text box, I made them uneditable. What I wanted to do was, setting the cursor focus in the second text box.

In FireFox, when one clicks on a fold and the fold expands, and if the mouse pointer is over the expanding content, then focus is drawn to each of the sub-menu items as they pass the mouse pointer. This makes the animation look a bit juddery.
In all other browsers, one clicks on a fold, focus is drawn away from the mouse pointer, the fold expands and then when one moves the mouse again the mouse pointer gets its focus back. You can see this best by clicking on the tabs "curriculum", then "admission", first in IE and then in Firefox. Is there any way to make the mouse pointer give up its focus in Firefox, so when the animation is taking place it ignores such rules as Code CSS:
.sub_link:hover{ background-color:#E8EFCF; }
which have been applied to the sub-menu items?l would be something like "cursor.blur();" although obviously that won't work.
I'm trying to make the cursor focus on a certain input element when someone hits a certain key combo (such as Shift+S). Does anyone know how you attach a listener like that and bind it to a key combo?

I have a problem, I have a table which dynamically create <tr> elements with a unique numerical id, this is created on a while loop from a database statement, when I click on a hyperlink on each <tr> I use this:
[Code]...
So in this way, I'm sending the unique code (codigo) and I fadeToggle the <tr> identified with that specific id, it works, no problem, it display with one click, hides with another one, BUT, now I need that, when you click on a hyperlink, if any other <tr> is being displayed at the moment, close all of them, and open the clicked one, is there any way I can do this?
I have a form that has a table that adds rows dynamically, 4 columns with each having a form element. i end up with the following when the page loads, created dynamically:
I am echoing some dynamic content into a DIV based on form entries. The content is essentially a dynamic table, with results populated based on the user input. The user can further refine the database results by entering more data into other fields. All of this works fine. What I'd like to add is the ability to click on an <a> tag header on each column to sort by that column. I haven't gotten it to work, so I wanted to try a more simple test. I currently echo <a id='test' href='#'>Click Me</a> into the DIV set aside for AJAX response. I then setup a jquery .click() event monitor to simply alert me when I click on it. If I place this <a> tag in the main portion of the content that is static, I get the alert box. But when I put this into the content of the DIV tag generated dynamically by AJAX, it doesn't fire the alert. Is there something I need to do to 'reload' the page? Is the dynamically added content not part of the document since the entire page isn't reloaded?
I just picked up JQuery yesterday and I am trying to access the text of a dynamically created text box.[code]The problem is in the btnSave.click function the message always says that the .val() is undefined even when there is text in the textbox.
I'm trying to write a function that is similar to the ctrl+f functionality you get in IE, where you have a search string and when you click 'next' the whole string if matched is highlighted by the cursor.
This works fine for inputs and text areas using the following code:
But now I need to get it to work for normal text in a text node that is in the HTML/DOM. Is there an equivalent way of making the above method work for text in text nodes?
Alternatively is there a way to make the browser (IE) at least focus on some text in a text node? (I could then highlight it with CSS styles).
How to add a function that will add some text in textarea, when someone clicks on button, where the cursor is?(Like here, on daniweb textareas!)eg. There is bold button! The user clicks on it, and the text "[BOLD][/BOLD]" writes where curser/caret is. Cursor/caret (|) is focused between these two elements "[BOLD]cursor/caret (|)[/BOLD]"
Javascript is my very weakest, and i'm not all that good..I need to adapt this (already working) code to add the text where the cursor is within the textarea.Like i say, the above code works fine, its just now to get it place where the cursor is within the box.
I need to control the cursor position in a textbox to do this, does anyone know how to place the cursor in the textbox at a particular position
The functionality I am looking for... Excel provides data entry help based on previous entries i.e. if in a previous cell in a column I entered "Jim Bob" then the next cell I type a "J" Excel provides help by showing "Jim Bob" in a way that allows me to pick it or keep typing. This is the kind of functionality I am trying to get using JS.
In the code below I create an array of previous entries by the user over the last 45 days this all comes from a DB but that's not important here. When the user enters a key in the textbox I can pop the text box with a matching value from the array, only up to the chars entered.
The Problem or Question: Is there a way to place the curser back into the last position and highlight the remaining part of the match from the array?
This is really hard to explain but if you ever used Excel you may have an idea of what I am trying to do. Code:
Using an onMouseDown, I can determine the coordinates of the cursor. Is there any way to write some text (a string) at that point. I am using at the moment a <textareaa> tag. I want the user to be able to click in the text and at a string to be inserted at that point.
how to do what i wanted. I've got a .pdf file with a bunch of text fields, i would like it to make it so that when the user has focus (is writing in or clicked it) on of the fields it shows a different field with information on how to fill out that field and which field to procede to. Ive figured out how to show a field when focus is on another field, but cant get it to hide again when focus goes to something else.
