how is it possible to make some changes to the loading webpage before it's shown to the user? Example: when a user clicks a link, I woud like to silently load the corresponding webpage, make some changes to html (e.g. embold the headers or translate some text), and only after that let the browser display the page.

Problem:-
I have a webpage with several links (<A> tags), now i have added
onClick and blocked HREF using 'javascript:void(0)' as below:-

Here 'some_function' is opening the 'pagename' in a new customised
window.
This page also contains a few images weighing 50kb. Now if I click the
<a> links before the images are loaded fully, following happens (on my
pc it works well but it happens when i test it online):-
1. The new page opens in a window as required
2. But the page loading is ABORTED and the images are not loaded.
i have just downloaded a web template from internet,i was facing some difficulties first, but i have downloaded it completely and then it started working fine, but unfortunately as my html page loads it redirects to [URL]. this template is simple static website with javascript and jquery support can someone give me solution for this awkward situation?

My site has a menu where it loads external webpages inside the main index one, I would like to use the code on one of those pages but something is not working.
I have been told its a DOCTYPE issue but I am not able to use the specified DOCTYPE, however I find that it works all the same with my current DOCTYPE choice. If I use the given one in addition to the one I use now (and need) then my site does not work properly, further if I replace it I get the same results.

I even tried using the exact code from the example in that linked .htm page but it doesn't make a difference, it probably even hinders the code as it looks at the main html page. However loading the page on its own the code will work, so its related to the menu and the way that works.

View 3 Replies View RelatedMy website uses a very tall iframe to display catalog pages from an external website. I'm using iframes here to make it look like the external catalog pages are on my webpages.
The problem is that when a visitor goes to my page, scrolls down to view all the contents inside the iframe, and then clicks a link inside the bottom of the iframe to goto the next page, that next catalog page will load inside the iframe, but the visitor will still be looking at the bottom of the iframe on my website, and thus has to scroll up to the top of my website to see the top of the iframe's contents.

How can I make it so when someone clicks a link inside the iframe, that the page with the iframe automatically scrolls to the top appearing as if the whole website has refreshed?
I'm wondering if theirs a way to make a dim light, sorta like a candle follow my mouse cursor on a webpage?

I am looking for a way to select a file from a list and load it into a webpage. The page and the files are stored on a sd-card for off-line usage, I know that listing files remote dynamicly needs a scripting engine but since the sd-card is on the client side that is not possible, but I can make a list of those files when creating them.
It is intended for a datalogger on a tractor-puller, I create csv files with a bash script on the logger and for off-line viewing I use a javascript charting engine which loads the csv file, the files have the creation date as filename and I can make (and maintain) a list of files when creating them. The plan is that the we can select another data set (run) from within the browser and show that one. I have setup an example at [URL]

It launches in IE and give the user instructions, then at the click of a button, launches my setup.exe. Could anyone know the script code for a WEBPAGE ON TOP OF A WEBPAGE? The site was not working anymore, so I can't tell you the link. This is what I saw, When I visited the site (Mainpage) There's just a Welcome Image that shows CLICK HERE TO ENTER. After clicking the link, a loading faded icon appears on top of Welcome Image covering that Welcome Image with Webpages, it's like popping to the center of the page. I don't know if someone of you could understand me. It's like Page on TOP of another Webpage without leaving the 1st page.

Im trying to add some simple display features to a web application and am running into some unexpected IE8 behavior. Basically, the app runs some database retrieval from the server using Ajax techniques, and during that time (say, 30 seconds), I want to just give the user a clue as to whats going on. It could be as simple as a wait cursor. More interesting, I prefer to unhide a div with an animated loading icon, then hide it again when loading is complete.

I have a site that is very jQuery and image heavy. The main sections of the site link to sections that are built with several Tabs, and as it loads, you briefly see all the content load and then it is hidden by the Tabs code.
The plan is to have a full window DIV that sits above all the content with a loading icon that plays until the entire page loads, and then it fades down.
After some hair pulling and research I have code in place that does exactly as I ask, however it does not seem to work in IE6+7. It works in all other browsers.

I have a lot of javascript functions that request information from an iframe hidden on the page. I see other sites do this, but their browser does not do the loading action (like the processing circle in Firefox). When I do it on my site, each browser shows the loading icon, as if a page was loading. Is it possible to not have this?

It's working in all browsers but Safari, the script just doesn't seem to be loading, I get the loading scroller bars but they don't fully load. What is the best way to debug JS - is that the right term?
I have this loading.gif image that is 750px, when it should be 32px. The reason it's huge now is because my original solution was displaying two images: one 750px version of the loading.gif image and one 32px version (in the center of the 750px) of the same image. Now I'm at least down to one image, even if it's the wrong version.Click any of the thumbnail images here, and then again on the thumbnail at the top of that popup product gallery to see what I mean: need that huge loading.gif to be 32px like it should be, and then expand to 750px once the image is loaded. I've tried a bunch of solutions, but nothing has solved the problem.This is the code I have at the moment, although I'm working on the issue now so it may change.
