I am working on the html code in which i using the List Control The Requirement that among the List element in which I choose the locationsthere is option in which whenever i select the option None From The List then it should Disply the empty textbox So how the function is declared
This is a very basic version of what I am trying to do. I have a dynamic list which is set in a table. When clicked, a function is run to set up a new list.. The reason I explain that, is that I need to keep it dynamic.Now for the problem:When I run this page, I have the button made right away, then when clicked it creates the new button. The new button should also run the function to create the new button again, but when I click it, I only receive "error on page".
I am creating a form with a date field. i want the date field to autofill onload. The form will then be submitted to a database. My question then, is should I auto fill the date with JS from the users computer, or with PHP from the server that contains the DB, where the report will be stored?
I've created a function that would hide and show paragraphs from a drop down list, that paragraph contains a link that will show a div containing a map of google. But when I switch to another State on the drop down list I'd like to have the original first paragraph that showed up to disappear. So far, I can only get the <div> that contains the map to disappear.a function that would hide the paragraph and the <div>? Again, Here's the code:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01//EN"> <html> <head>[code].....
I have a button that activates a script to create a new radio button. I want the radio button to be of the class draggable. However, my code isn't quite working.
<head> <script Language="JavaScript"> function modify(){
How can I create argument defaults for a function? I have this function (the purpose of the lines I included were to set defaults if the user forget to input something simply to prevent an error.
I would like to save some programming space and time by finding another way to set defaults. I saw somewhere that you could set a default in the arguments list Code: function someFunction(aVariable = false) { //some code } But when I try to do this with all my arguments, I get the error: "Missing ) after formal parameters".
I can get the outcome of this function into a variable that I can then use later on. At the moment it obviously alerts the answer but I just want that answer in a variable.
HTML Code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xml:lang="en" lang="en">
Does anyone know how to create a link (<a> . . . </a>) with some piece of javascript code that has the onClick event set for some function that I also wrote (not a build-in function).
I can find all sorts of samples in these disc.groups but none of them seems to work for me.
I am focussed on Firefox, but some code that also works for IE, would be appreciated.
BTW I know how to create elements in the html document, that is not the problem. The problem is that I seem not te be able to set the onClick event for some created element. I tried for both a link and also for a text-element. I can set the onClick for some built-in function like alert('Nice Day').
There are loads of examples to be found for that, and they indeed work.
I have an area in my dreamweaver that I am grouping alot of my graphics, I have hundreds that will go into different sections so doing image codes one by one would be too time consuming.
I am wanting to create a function that will apply thumbnail specifications, drag & drop features, & double clicking (where a user double clicks on an image and it appears in a box at the top, my website is for animation constructing). Does anyone know how to create a function code for this because I'm not sure as to how to do this exactly bc js is not my speciality.
Create a function that prompts user for a number. Develop the program so that it continues to prompt until it receives valid information. Then create a multiplication table that displays the number multiplied by 1 through prompted number.
I'm using a 3rd party API that does asynchronous requests for me and directs response to a callback that I specify. Since my code can issue multiple requests concurrently I want some mechanism to match each response to the specific request e.g. attach a unique ID to be returned with the response. The 3rd party API does not allow me to attach any user context to the request so the only way I could figure out how to do this was to dynamically generate a callback function per request and embed the unique id in the body of that function. When the callback is invoked I can use the information to complete my handling of the response.
1) First of all if anybody has a better idea on how to achieve the above without dynamically generating script I'd be happy to hear it.2) Regardless of (1), if using my proposed method repeatedly I will be generating a lot of garbage over time, so I want to clean up after myself. Meaning, to delete the dynamic callback after it completes. Below is an example of how I wanted to do it, but it seems not to work:
I am trying to create a xml document and load it into a 3rd party function as follows:
var doc = new ActiveXObject('Microsoft.XMLDOM'); // OR var doc = document.implementation.createDocument('', 'xml', null); o.overlayKML('somefile.xml'); // Works perfectly o.overlayKML(doc); // Doesn't work at all, return unsupport error
I get to know that the overlayKML (3rd party function) needs to read a physical file with a path and sadly it doesn't support DOM. How can I create a javascript document that mimic a physical file and introduce it into the function?
I'm using this script: [URL] I would like to know how to make the script open with another Click Here to Contact Us text (not the same button) hyperlink somewhere further down on my page. For example:
I am trying to create a basic unobtrusive form validation function but I am having some issues/questions. Basically I am checking if any of the form fields have <= 3 characters, and if they do so, then I make those fields' backgrounds and borders red. Also in the empty <span> tags I insert an error message. My issues/questions are:
#1: So when I say if (fieldVals<=3) this means that the errors should appear if the values are 1,2 or 3 characters long, right? It does not do that though, when I insert one character in any of the form fields the errors go away, but they should not, right?
#2: How do I cancel the form from submitting if errors are visible and vice versa? When I use the return false when errors are visible, the code does not even run. What is going on? return true does the same.
#3: When I use a submit button(type="submit") instead of just a button(type="button"), the code does not run? What am I doing wrong?
I am not trying to use this on a website, I am just trying to learn how to use unobtrusive javascript. That's why I am only checking for empty fields. If I learn how to do this first, later I will try to add email check, date check etc.
I can't get the serialize function that is supposed to create a query string to work.My HTML contains one form with one input of type "text" inside it. Both of these return an empty string.
var queryString = $('form').serialize(); var queryString = $('#myInputId').serialize();
I am trying to create an anonymous function for onchange event of file field, so that when a file is selected, the covering text field gets that value. I know how to accomplish this by adding onchange="", but I'd prefer not do that. The code that I have almost works, except that the function in the for loop can't call on the "i" variable that the loop uses.
for( i = 0; i < source.length; i++) { source[i].onchange = function() { name[i].value = this.value; } }
I try to create form to subscript a newsletter using plugins and the $.post() function ,but the URL outside the server[URL] to send me an email if it receives the data but it doesn't work,
here is the code <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml"> <head> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1" />
I would like to know how to create a function in an external file for validating the fields of a form. If someone could please provide the code, it'll be real helpful. The form is as follows:
