View 2 RepliesIn my index.php form I have a popup form. The user can click on a link on this popup form to call an order processing form. Is there a way for me to call this processing form from the popup and yet still close the popup form?
In my index.php form there is also a link to call this order processing form, is there any way to call it from index.php but from the link on the popup form?
Let me clarify what my problem is. As per the sample coding below, the user is directed to either test1.php or test2.php based on which item they selected in the combo box. I need help on how to display the form's results/output in a customized popup window, based on the selected item in a combo box. Code:

I have a form that submit to the same page when double click on a product:
<form method="post" action="quotes.asp" name="form1"
onDblClick="javascript:formHandler()">
How can I submit the form in a popup window and another page using a html
link?
Following code doesn't work because of the nested apostrophes in the
javascript. Code:
I have a popup form in my web page and I want to trigger an event on this form submit.
My popup is created like this code...
Here is a short and sweet code snippet for submitting a form to a popup window. It only requires modifying the <form> tag a bit. Non-JavaScript users simply get a regular new window.
<form action="formParser.php" method="POST" target="newFormWindow" onsubmit="window.open('about:blank', 'newFormWindow', 'width=340,height=260');">
.....
</form>
When users goes to my page (main window) and click on a link, it pops up a new window, and that window contains more links.
When users click on the links on the popped up page, i want some text to be added into a textbox on the main window.
so like if the textbox has "Text1"
and when user clicks on that link, the textbox will now have: "Text1 link.."
i have a form like this on a page called emailform.htm:
<form method="post" onSubmit=NewWindow()>
<H3>From: <input type="text" name="from"></H3>
<H3>Message: <input type="text" name="body"></H3>
<input type="submit" value="Send the Message">
</form>
when submitted, it calls this function:
function NewWindow(){
window.open('sendmail.php', 'newWin', 'scrollbars=no,
toolbar=no, width=200, height=200');
}
two problems:
1. the form values are not getting passed over to sendmail.php.
2. after the popup window pops up and loads sendmail.php, the original page, emailform.htm, changes to an error page.
so, what do i need to do to get the form values to be passed, and how do i keep the original page either from changing at all, or, if thats not possible, get it to simply reload itself.
I'm trying to write script for a popup when an external link is clicked telling the user they are leaving the site bla bla and the bank isnt affiliated with the link and do they want to leave "yes" or "no" I see a ton of variations of this online but I cant find one that prevents the external site from loading so the user can decide yes or no on the popup. And the popup will have to be an html page, not a 1 line question so I dont see how 'confirm' would work...
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with validation not working in IE 8. I have a popup form which I have implemented from: [url]
Also I have added additional functionality using a validation script I found at: [url]
Now this works fine in FF and chrome, but it doesnt work in IE 8 and probably 6 and 7 too. The problem is that the form doesnt always show up. I tested when the form isnt hidden and it works perfectly fine.
I am created a site where personal messages will be sent to other members. To do this I want to allow users to either type in the users seperating their name by ; (ie Joe Bloggs; Michael Jackson; Fred Flintstone). or alternativly have a popup box where all the names on the database are displayed in a list with a check box next to the names. I will be using PHP to interact with the database and know about this
My problem is getting details from the popup box and displaying them in the text field on the main browsers form? So if in the popup box the user checked Michael Jackson's name how would I get Michael Jackson to dispaly in the main browers field (input name ="to")?
Does anyone know how to do this?
I am using a standard html <form> to send data to a pop up calculating somthing.
I want all coming requests to go to the same window.
Quite easy with forms since we have the target attribute, thus target="calculating_window".
However future <form> submitted entries will appear in the "calculating_window" window, but keep behind the current active window (with the <form> formular). The user therefore cannot see new entries beeing calculated.
I tried working with a OnClick thing with the submit button and javascript focus(), but i just can't get i to work. Any suggestions?
Need some working sample code to post hidden form data from a php page
to a new popup window. 540 x 500 centered. The popup that I'm calling
already is formatted and has a TITLE:web-2007.php so what I need to do
is to write the values from the PHP page to that popup in specific
places.
Some of the hidden values are also like this format;
<input type="hidden" name="handling" value="<?php echo $_POST["sub"];?>">
<input type="hidden" name="email" value="<?php echo $_POST["email"];?>">
Right now,the hidden input fields are on a PHP page, and I'm calling the
popup from the generated PHP page like so:

I have looked all over the Internet for the last few hours and the main articles I can find are using JQuery or Prototype to handle validation. However, I am trying to work on a series of forms (They won't work with tabs due to their nature) which depend on other items in a database.So, what I want to do is if someone is inserting a record in Form 1 to input into Table 1 which has an ID from Table 2, it will pop up a new form (shadowing out Form 1, sort of like LightBox does) to create the new record into Table 2. Once this record is inserted successfully, it will return control to Form 1.I plan on making an OnKeyUp activate this script when someone clicks on the textfield to add a new category. I understand what I have posted may be a little confusing, but I basically just need to be pointed in the right direction with a couple of tutorials to follow for how to use AJAX to show forms.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a form with an number of quite long drop down select menus in table rows.
The problem is if the user selects one of the last options in the select menu they are taken to the a different row lower down on the form - which is a little confusing.
What i really need to do is present some the values in a popup modal box and then allow the user to pick a value and keep them in that input field. It would be a lot like the jquery date picker jQuery UI - Datepicker Demos & Documentation but with numbers like 0,1,2,5,10,15,20 ect to pick from and populate the input field.
I am a bit short of time so i was wondering if anyone knew how to do this quickly - surely its a problem others have come across?
We implemented an exit popup on our page. When a user tries to leave our purchase page, an exit popup comes up saying that if they click cancel they will get a 50 dollar discount and are automatically redirected to that discounted checkout form.
The problem is, when a user clicks our "submit" button, when they are trying to purchase at full price, the exit popup shows up too, and redirects them, so essentially we can't get the full amount out of our customers! We want the script on the page, but we don't want it to show up when users click our submit button.
heres the exit popup script
Code:
<script language="JavaScript" type="text/javascript">
window.onbeforeunload = confirmExit;
function yPop(url) {
var found = 1;
[Code].....
I want to make a popup helps the user select a value for an input field in a html form.
For example, if the field is for a customer code - the user can either type in the customer code directly, or use the popup to search on available customer codes using various criteria and finally select the customer code he or she wants to use, and have that customer code populate back into the original input field.
I have been looking around the various components in jquery but can't quite see how to do this.
I'd like to provide users with help regarding the form input areas with a help popup dialog box. I don't like the term popup because so many people block popups. I'll be providing a question mark next to the feature and if clicked would like a customizable dialog box to show with help text. There will be many of these involved and would like to know the best approach.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDo u know of any free javascript script that will popup as a bubble with some information on it when I click on any form element in a page?
I can show you an example of what I want:
Basically the user would see a button on a form that would be something like "add contact"...then a window opens that shows a search window (want to implement something like [URL]) and it would show all the contacts available in the contacts table...then the user selects the contact to add (via a link).
I think i could get it this far, but how would i then pass that $row to the main form so that i can use the fields from that $row in the contacts table on my form?
I have very basic javascript skills, just started looking into jQuery and jQueryTools to enhance my websites. I have been coding PHP for about 1.5 years.I have a php form with which users can update their purchase order before making a final confirmation and payment.
Thought it would be nice if, instead of using php for redirecting to a success/fail message in a separate php file and redirecting again back to the form with a 3 second delay, I could get a jQuery script to pop up with a success/fail message, so avoiding all the clumsy php redirecting and page refreshing.I've searched for plugins, but they all act on event listeners attached to a submit button or other clickable html element.Ive searched the net for ages and can't find an easily understood explanation and complete example, where a jQuery pop up notification is displayed in response to a php script executing a db update.
How can I create a popup window in a form without showing the status, menubar, location and with width of 502 and height 550?
I was doing something like this, it will popup a window, but I do not want to show the status, menubar, location, etc. The form is submitted to other site.
<form action="http://www.otherdomain.com/preview.php" target="_blank">
<input type="text" name="value" size="20">
<input type="hidden" name= "1" value="1">

Any idea?
I am trying to dynamically open a popup window but ie8 blocks it with the popup blocker. basically within a ajax fuction I have a confirm button and if the user clicks yes it opens a popup window. now I tried it with a javascript function but it got blocked, so I have tried it by creating a form with a button in it and instead of calling the popup function direct I call document.form.button.click and in the form my button has onclick"popup('<? echo url; ?>')" but this also is detected as a unwarranted popup and is blocked.
now I understand that the popup blocker works when a popup is called without user interaction, but allows popups on say button clicks. how can I get the popup to work
