Need some working sample code to post hidden form data from a php page
to a new popup window. 540 x 500 centered. The popup that I'm calling
already is formatted and has a TITLE:web-2007.php so what I need to do
is to write the values from the PHP page to that popup in specific
places.
Some of the hidden values are also like this format;
From the user input I want to be able to take each of the text fields and format them into a table on the resumeProcessor.html. I however am unable to figure out how to call the values into my code.
Im trying to create a hidden form field in a parent window from within a child window (popup). I am trying to use jQuery, but unfortunately the hidden field does not get created.
I want to download the records of the output of search criteria to excel. As the fields for search criteria are more than 20. I am submitting the form with POST method rather than GET.
On click of "Download2excel", the hidden variable name1 is set to Yes. so i will check the condition in my code. Once the download is successful, I want to reset the variable.
I need to add an input hidden field to an existing form (post).
I have tried a couple things like adding the '<INPUT type=hidden name=idSelectedURL value=http://server/documents>' to the innerHTML of the form but it fails. ie
also, trying to add an element to the form such as: var frm = document.getElementById("idForm"); var oField = frm.createElement ('input'); oField.type ="hidden"; oField.name = "idSelectedURL"; oField.value ="http://server/documents";
none of these work and give me a javascript error.
I don't think the createElement method can be used from the form object, only from the document object. still could not get it working.
I have an application with a button that opens up another website. That website requires credentials. I'm currently using window.open to get the url open and passing a variable to the end of the URL, but when I have searched for a good way to get the credentials passed by using post and can't seem to find a solution. I tried xmlhttprequest, but the limitation of cross-domains is huge because I will have external clients connecting to the database and don't think that asking them to lower the security settings in IE would be a good way to do it. All I need is the ability to click on the button, pass the username and password and have the url open to desired page. I posted the code of the application in another thread, but all I'm getting are just views.
I'm writing a web page, which should interact with pages on another server using an iFrame. I want to use a form on the parent page to post to the URL on the iFrame and capture the response, without reloading the parent page.
Here are the details:I have a FORM on the parent JSP page, with some session data in hidden fields. The point to note is that the whole session data is on the client side, in encrypted form. This data should be posted to the server for each request, synchronous or asynchronous.Now, I need to call an application on a server on a different domain. For this purpose, I am using an iFrame. The session data in the parent page should also be passed to the application in the iFrame.
The following will submit the form data to popup by clicking the submit button. I want it will submit the form automatically to the popup, there is no submit button in this page. Basically this page should not show up.
I am very new to javascript and jquery. on my site i have a list of short quotes. right after each quote there is a hidden div which contains the complete text; by clicking a quote, i would like to open a popup-window which displays the complete text.
Is it possible to pass information back from a popup window?
I am looking to open a popup from our internet site to our web based mainframe app (HATS). I would like to send some strings from this popup page back to text fields in the calling page to populate a form. Does this sound possible?
Say I have a form so long that i want to group sections by category and have them expandable, using css to display:none or display:block these groups. If a user selects an option or two in one of these divs, then fills in some fields, then hides the div... is it going to cause problems when they submit the form if the div is hidden?
edit: what if we add validation into the mix. What happens if a field in a hidden div does not pass validation?
another problem im having is appending a value to a string. how come this function isnt working for me? string overwrites the value of content not gets added onto the end of it?!
function alertchange(value) { var string = value; document.update.content.value = document.update.content.value + string; }
Inside of a page, there is a iFrame, which houses WYSIWYG editor.I'm trying to pass data (passedString: html, inline css, text ...) to a popup.When I pass same string to same div with id="idx" located on a page, where iFrame is located, it receives it without problems.Problem appears, when I try to pass string to popup.
Basically, I registered for a free board at one of the various sites because my server doesn't support .cgi scripts. I want to know if there is a way to have the data from a form on my site post to the board site -A user would fill in my form, click submit, and a new post would appear on the board site -as if they had entered it there. If you can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful. Here is my thinking.
A) I can't locate the script that they use to perform a "submit"; so I thought I might enter their <head> data (as far as xmlns, href, etc) in my <head>; that my website might call up their script files, css sheets, etc.
B)I could code my own Javascript function to send my form data to their site. If I knew how to simulate a mouseclick on someone else's site, I could have the script "click" there, paste the data, and hit the submit button. But I don't.
C) I could size their site down to the form itself and put it in a frame on my page
Option C is clearly easier, but I would prefer option A or B. I have time and will happily do the research myself; provided that I know if approach A or B is even feasible.
I have a popup window which has the search form in. What I want to do is for the popup window to close once the form is submitted, and to post the form data to a page on the main window.
Is anyone able to advise. As the main page is dynamic, it is not possible to give the page a name.
I have a form that is in a popup window. I need the form to submit to the opener window. Is is possible to do that? The opener window is the main window so it is does not have a name and there are no framesets.
<form action="something.php" method="post" target="????"> I'd like to use window.opener in the target but that's JavaScript...
I know somebody has done this before and has the code.
Here is what I am trying to do. On my web page, I have three choices for the user to pick from. After the user selects one of the checkboxes and clicks a submit button, I need to send a http request to a remote server to record the user's choices (actually it is an https that I am sending),.. so I need to send something like this.
[URL]
The remote server responds with an xml response that looks like this:
So, I want to post the request, read the response (answer) back from the other server and display it on my page. So, my dilemma is as follows:
1) my understanding is that I cannot do this with AJAX using an XMLHttp object because it is on a remote server and it would violate some sort of same-domain security. Is that correct? If in fact I can do it in AJAX, how do I read the response back from the other server?
2) if I am correct in my assumption in 1) then what is the best way to accomplish this task?
What coding would I use to post some data when the page is loaded rather than posting through clicking a button or link? I've searched around but I can't find it...
Here is a short and sweet code snippet for submitting a form to a popup window. It only requires modifying the <form> tag a bit. Non-JavaScript users simply get a regular new window. <form action="formParser.php" method="POST" target="newFormWindow" onsubmit="window.open('about:blank', 'newFormWindow', 'width=340,height=260');">
I am created a site where personal messages will be sent to other members. To do this I want to allow users to either type in the users seperating their name by ; (ie Joe Bloggs; Michael Jackson; Fred Flintstone). or alternativly have a popup box where all the names on the database are displayed in a list with a check box next to the names. I will be using PHP to interact with the database and know about this
My problem is getting details from the popup box and displaying them in the text field on the main browsers form? So if in the popup box the user checked Michael Jackson's name how would I get Michael Jackson to dispaly in the main browers field (input name ="to")?
I am using a standard html <form> to send data to a pop up calculating somthing. I want all coming requests to go to the same window.
Quite easy with forms since we have the target attribute, thus target="calculating_window".
However future <form> submitted entries will appear in the "calculating_window" window, but keep behind the current active window (with the <form> formular). The user therefore cannot see new entries beeing calculated.
I tried working with a OnClick thing with the submit button and javascript focus(), but i just can't get i to work. Any suggestions?
