Posting Data With Window.open?
Nov 8, 2011I have an application with a button that opens up another website. That website requires credentials. I'm currently using window.open to get the url open and passing a variable to the end of the URL, but when I have searched for a good way to get the credentials passed by using post and can't seem to find a solution. I tried xmlhttprequest, but the limitation of cross-domains is huge because I will have external clients connecting to the database and don't think that asking them to lower the security settings in IE would be a good way to do it. All I need is the ability to click on the button, pass the username and password and have the url open to desired page. I posted the code of the application in another thread, but all I'm getting are just views.

Posting Data To A Remote Server?
Sep 28, 2009Here is what I am trying to do. On my web page, I have three choices for the user to pick from. After the user selects one of the checkboxes and clicks a submit button, I need to send a http request to a remote server to record the user's choices (actually it is an https that I am sending),.. so I need to send something like this.

The remote server responds with an xml response that looks like this:

So, I want to post the request, read the response (answer) back from the other server and display it on my page. So, my dilemma is as follows:
1) my understanding is that I cannot do this with AJAX using an XMLHttp object because it is on a remote server and it would violate some sort of same-domain security. Is that correct? If in fact I can do it in AJAX, how do I read the response back from the other server?
2) if I am correct in my assumption in 1) then what is the best way to accomplish this task?
Posting Hidden Form Data To A Popup Window

to a new popup window. 540 x 500 centered. The popup that I'm calling
already is formatted and has a TITLE:web-2007.php so what I need to do
is to write the values from the PHP page to that popup in specific
places.
Some of the hidden values are also like this format;

Feb 20, 2010On my page I have a jQuery modal dialog. It contains a checkbox associated with a product being shown in the dialog. Checking the checkbox is supposed to post the product's title to the server (using $.post). During my tests, I opened the dialog for different products, checked the checkbox and quickly pressed Esc key to close the dialog and move on to another product. What I've noticed is that if current product title to be posted is different from one sent just prior to it, things get posted quickly and without a loss. However, if I am sending the same data as what was sent with a previous request, this data doesn't make it to the server if I do this quickly -- I consistently lose data. But if I allow a couple of seconds to pass before pressing Esc key, the data (duplicate data) gets delivered fine.This happens only in Firefox (I've tried this in v. 3.6). IE 8 and Chrome 4.0.249.89 beta (38071) (it was supposed to be 5.x, though) behave as expected -- post data without delay or concern with duplicate data.

Here are the details:I have a FORM on the parent JSP page, with some session data in hidden fields. The point to note is that the whole session data is on the client side, in encrypted form. currentSlide is set to 0. vote is set to 2. When I look at my console log, these are true. But in poll_receiveData.php, I'm unable to use a conditional statement with $vote. It's like the program doesn't know how to compare things to $vote. But a SQL statement using $question works just fine. Here's my code:

(Before Line 1 and 2 happen)I already red, about event bubbling and event delegation, but the html-elements fax_rate and food_rate exist from the beginning, and only their innerHTML does change.

The loaded data assigns the css file BUT does not seem to be able to find the js file as the click handlers in that file do not work. I'm new at this and this is probably a BASIC issue.

Jun 10, 2010I have a php script which contains various links which get handled by a jQuery function which in turn passes parameters to and loads another php script. The php script that gets loaded queries a large MySQL database and returns a set of results in an HTML table. Where there is more than 1 page of results the php script provides page numbers which can be clicked on to bring up further pages of results. Where there are more than 20 pages a small algorithm displays an abbreviated set of page numbers,This obviously worked fine when the script was running on its own but now it's being loaded using jQuery it's preumably of no use. Can anyone suggest a way of tackling the problem, I did take a look at various pagination plugins but they didn't seem to be what I was looking for based on what I've said above.

May 6, 2011I've googled the heck out of this, and although I'm finding plenty of solutions, I'm having trouble understanding them. I'm very new to jquery, and brand new to ajax. My problem is, I have a php application using several jquery effects. I've just started learning ajax and it is going really well, this stuff is incredible! But all the ajax loaded data loses the jquery effects. I get that it is a DOM issue, and I've seen that others have used "live" (i think?) to fix this, but I honestly just have no understanding of how toimplementanything that I'm seeing.

Sep 13, 2010I am attempting to do two things and I'm missing a vital element: ajax call to an XML file to be inserted onto a page, FOLLOWED by selecting these newly created elements to apply event handlers on them. I am near certain that the problem is that the selectors are not 'seeing' these elments and it's an issue of running the event handler only AFTER these elements have been loaded.
How do you do this? I already have a $(document).ready(function() { in order which I naively thought would take care of this exact issue...

Unfortunately this does not seem to work, entirely. It does trigger the click event but it messes up the post for some reason. I have played around with it for the last 45 minutes or so and it seems like the click event trigger is what is messing things up, if I comment it out it works fine. Could anyone tell me why they think this is? note this is an over simplified version of my actual code, but the structure is the same.

Nov 4, 2010On my webpage, I dynamically create an iFrame when a button is pressed, then load a html page from within my own domain into the iframe, based on what html page is loaded into a variable. My question is, can I dynamically change the font family of the loaded html page from the javascript of the main page? My code to create the iframe is:

the variable "subTxt" has the url of the html page to be loaded (always on the same domain). The code: document.subIframe.document.body.style.fontFamily = "Arial"; was my attempt to dynamically change the font, but it didn't work. Also, it should be noted that there is no font family set in the html pages which would override this.
A Script Which Keeps User At Current Page Until Next Page Is Fully Loaded?

When a link is cliked -> user stays at current page and get's "Page loading" etc. notice until the next page is fully downloaded.In other words; When I click a link (Internet Explorer), I get first "a white page" until next page show's ..I want, that the page does not go white at all, but current page show's until the next page is fully downloaded.

Feb 15, 2011We have to login to a http page so that I can surf the net. But, that login page also requires me to keep that page open which is very irritating. The page have javascript that checks if the page is loaded every 180 seconds, it its not loaded, I am logged out.
I want to simulate a browser using a programming language like python or using curl or anything so that I am not forced to keep the webpage open.
How can I do that? I have uploaded the source code of the webpages of login_page, javascript and ajax scripts used.
I am not actually sure as to how it is being accomplished so I dont know how to simulate it. note the sendLiveRequest function in javascipt script.
