I have an image rotator that uses nested intervals. The outer one switches the images, and the inner one preforms the fade. The problem is is that the display is not updated during the interval function, and so, the fade is not displayed; the new image just appears- no fade. Is there anyway to force the display to update during the interval? Here is the code:

I currently have a DHTML popup menu that holds a form. I was trying to make it so on submission of the form within the DHTML popup the page itself will fully reload to update the content. However, on submission of the form the page "reloads" but not really, because i still need to go to the URL again for it to display the updated content.

Problem in the timing of the script. The problem is that when I try to get an id of an object that was added by ajax, the script doesn't recognize it. The html:

When I load the page, there is this script that get the value of the #categories and use ajax to fill another select and in the same ajax, I load images by another function using the new select input that was created:

Is there another JS function that I can use to force a time delay without having the code continue to run? I'm using the setTimeout() function but the call to this function doesn't stop the code flow. I need to stop the code flow while waiting. I am on WinXP. The following page works perfectly in IE6. For Netscape
7.0, I have to move off of the image and then back on to get the fade to
take effect, and with Mozilla (latest version) a series of close mouseovers
will cause the screen to go wacko.
Does anyone have input on how to get Netscape/Mozilla to work with a fade

Now i have solved the problem for the time being by making a single call to ajax for the whole loop. Now my question is : what is causing this problem? Can I give time delays between two consecutive requests?
I'm trying to create an object that will update itself at a set interval, but I'm having a scope issue when using the "setInterval" or "setTimeout" function.

I have a site with a 3 column layout. Because the size of the columns may be different onLoad, I am using Javascript to make each of the columns the same height. This works great when I load the page.
However, my site updates these columns using AJAX. After the update, one column may have become longer than the others. I am trying to find a way to detect this change and then again make all 3 columns the same height.
My first approach was with an event handler that detected "onsubtreemodified" for these DIVs. Unfortunately, this is a fairly new W3C DOM event that is not currently supported by most browsers.
My next idea was to simply call the function that did the resize with the onClick event when the user did anything that would update the columns. This does not work because Javascript does not wait until the DOM is finished updating before executing the code that checks sizes. So, it still sees the columns as the same height and doesn't make adjustments.
Is there a way to catch when a div content is updated through javascript? I update a div content through rjs and I need to call tablesorter every time the div is updated.
