Display A "busy Graphic" While Waiting For An Iframe To Load?
Jul 9, 2009
I've seen some sites going what I want to achieve, but I cant remember the names of them.
I have an iframe on a page ( its a local page ), when a user submits this page, I want to display a "busy graphic" while waiting for the results, does anybody have a link to such and example?

Here is a snippet of code that I have. First off the recursion doesn't appear to be working as it only ever calls the addThumb function once and it should be called it more often as it never gets to the point of popping up the alert box "Loading". addThumbNails in this case is being called first which then calls addThumb. I have tried a preloading function for images with the same issues. The result of the current code can be seen here.
http:[url]....The thumbnails should load below a main image. The main image also isn't loading for the same reason at this point. Hit reload and the page reloads correctly.
Code:
/***************************************
Adds the thumbnails to the scrollBar
!!!Need to randomize the order.[code]......

$(this).load("print.html", function () {
$(this).ready(function () {

I want the images on #printme to finish loading before the passPrint function runs, but everything I've tried does not work. The ready() in there does not work.

I have an onclick that triggers ajax which calls a php script to pull data from MySQL. This information is then displayed in a div. The problem I am having is that sometimes pulling the data from MySQL takes 2-3 seconds, so the div is empty for about 2-3 seconds. How would I go about adding an animated "Loading" gif to display in the div while it is waiting to display the content?

I need to have a page wait till the entire thing is loaded before the user interacts with it. I would like for it to do a lightbox styled grey box over it or even something like plesk does where it fades out the background (same effect really) until the page has loaded

How can I set a busy cursor for my whole page rather than just for a link?
My page calls another page with form arguments that does some processing
then changes the values on the calling page. It takes about 4 seconds so I
would like there to be some indication that processing is going on. Thanks!

I have some jQuery code working that does an AJAX post to the server and displays the data on the web page. Proud of myself! However, right at the moment, the user doesn't see anything happen when they click the button.
I would like to make it work like most modern sites do, whereby when you push the button, the previous results are greyed out, the submit button is disabled, and you get one of those nice little animations whizzing around, showing the user that something is happening. When the callback is complete, the results are displayed normally, the submit button is enabled and the animation disappears.

I am using Javascript on an upload page to hide the form and show an animated progress graphic when the user clicks Submit. The problem is that the graphic, which is initially hidden, does not animate when displayed in Internet Explorer. (works great in Firefox, of course)
I searched Google and found a couple postings describing this problem, but I couldn't seem to find a solution.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Is it possible to use a graphic or an image, such as an arrow, instead of the text for prev next?
I've reviewed all the demos and searched the forum here. I don't see any reference to this anywhere.

I know very little about jQuery. I am trying to design a graphic menu bar that is capable of displaying each button in 4 modes: up (neutral), hover, down (mouse down), and selected. After some research, I was able to "come up" (by cutting and pasting and burning up a couple of neurons) with the code below. It works well enough but I'm sure it could be written a lot better. What I really would like to do is to change whatever button is "down" to go back "up" once another button is pushed, changing the img src, or by whatever method is more efficient.
<script src="js/jquery-1.3.2.js" type="text/javascript"
charset="utf-8"></script>
<script type="text/javascript" charset="utf-8">
$(function() { // image rollover
$(".topmenu img").hover(function() {
this.src = this.src.replace("-up","-hover");
}, function() {
this.src = this.src.replace("-hover","-up"); .....

I have a button on my site, which when clicked calls an ajax function. What I want to do though, is append a loading graphic for just 2 seconds inside the button such that it looks as if the website is 'busy' saving when the button is clicked. This is obviously just for user feedback as the 'save' is done instantly - it's just for user feedback to make the user confident that the save button has worked. To do this, I'm trying to append a loading image to the save button, delay for 2 seconds, then remove the image, but it doesn't seem to work.
I have this HTML:
<p><a href="#" title="" class="save">Save</a></p>
And this jQuery:

This script fades a web pages background when you mouseover a graphic.The problem I'm having is it goes from white to black and I need it to go from black to white. I was able to reverse it like I wanted but the page still initially starts off white instead of black. Setting the pages background to black doesn't fix the problem either.

I run a streaming site and would like google adsense to appear at the bottom of the page/stream every 3 minutes, stay for 15 seconds and then close automatically. Then after another 3 minutes they'd appear again, stay for 15 seconds and then close again, etc, etc.I'd imagine having the adsense in an iframe would be easier.I'd also like to give users the option to close the adsense using a close button at the top of the iframe if they don't want to wait 15 seconds.

I have an asp page page with a DIV container that is activated when a user clicks a link (using javascript to activate it. It pops up similar to a light box).
The contents of the DIV is an Iframe from another website. The Iframe is hidden when the page loads.
Loading in the Iframe when the page loads is affecting performance of the page.
I'm wondering if there is a way to load the Iframe when the user clicks the link to activate the DIV light box. This way the page doesn't have to load the Iframe straight away... only when the user needs it...

I'm opening up a page using Fancybox:
Code:
$("#register_box").fancybox({
'transitionIn' : 'elastic',
'transitionOut' : 'elastic',
'hideOnOverlayClick': false,
/*'type' : 'iframe',*/
'autoDimensions': true
});
This works fine and opens up my registration page. However when I have the type commented it won't display my reCaptcha. If I uncomment this in my jQuery then it will display the reCaptcha.

I want to load an iframe with Javascript after my HTML finishes loading, but I also want people without Javascript to be able to view it. How can I do that?
Maybe I can create the iframe with a src, and remove the src with Javascript before the iframe loads. Then load the iframe after the page loads. How do I do that?
