I want the code for a button effect. The button is for a graphic button, on clicking it it changes its graphic to an ('on' image), plays a sound effect, then changes graphic to the first image('off' image), then it goes to a link.
Files would be
Images/offbutton.jpg
Images/onbutton.jpg
sound/buttonclick.wav
I am new to jquery, and love it so far, but I am more of a designer, not a developer. I am learning jquery to enhance my sites, and I am having a problem figuring out buttons.
I have them working in firefox and safari, but in IE links do not work.
I know javascript can't do this natively but with flash or java it should be possible right? I'm thinking of doing something along the lines of a tuner ( [URL] , but a bit different). Any framework for reading notes from the mic with javascript? Preferably something which takes care of all the flash/java integration.
I am creating a web interface where a user can click on a series of pictures and then click a 'play' button to play the sound (wav) files which are behind each picture in sequence.
So I have an onclick event attached to each image which loads the name of the wav file into an array. The play button loops through these sounds and plays them one at a time....or so it is meant to!
I have found that all the sounds play one on top of the other and I have been searching for hours to find a way to make them play one after the other.
I don't want to use a flash interface as I can't convert them all to flash. Does anyone know of a way to do this using javascript? I would be very very grateful if so.
I'm trying to get sounds to play on image mouseovers using dreamweaver 8, and I found out that the code it generates to do this only works for IE. Is there a way to do this so that it will work with most of the popular browsers? I don't care if it can be done with dreamweaver or if I have to hand code or copy code from somewhere, I just want it to work.
Here is what DW creates:
function MM_controlSound(x, _sndObj, sndFile) { //v3.0 var i, method = "", sndObj = eval(_sndObj); if (sndObj != null) { if (navigator.appName == 'Netscape') method = "play"; else { if (window.MM_WMP == null) { window.MM_WMP = false; for(i in sndObj) if (i == "ActiveMovie") { window.MM_WMP = true; break; } } if (window.MM_WMP) method = "play"; else if (sndObj.FileName) method = "run"; } } if (method) eval(_sndObj+"."+method+"()"); else window.location = sndFile; }
I've heard a lot of talk out there about how HTML5 will replace Flash and Silverlight. And the iPad is already dumping Flash. So, for those of us who use Flash for more than just video, how are we supposed to attach sounds to events with JavaScript? Is there a JS API for accessing the audio in HTML5 that allows event based sound effects? (SoundManager embeds a flash sound player)
I run a website and we have an ad agency who despite our repeated requests, does not filter run of network ads to make sure no popups are served or ads with sound are run. However, we can't afford to drop them and no other agency is going to give us the fill rate/CPM we are currently getting. So we need to take matters into our own hands, and I hope it's possible. We need to put a script on our site which overrides any javascript/flash served via ads and prevents popup windows from opening (or auto-closes them). We also need a way to disable sound within the current tab. Is that possible at all?
I need to play sounds with javascript. When the user clicks the button it will run the function and play a sound either from the source or embedded into the website (which ever way works).

I am using Javascript on an upload page to hide the form and show an animated progress graphic when the user clicks Submit. The problem is that the graphic, which is initially hidden, does not animate when displayed in Internet Explorer. (works great in Firefox, of course)
I searched Google and found a couple postings describing this problem, but I couldn't seem to find a solution.
I know very little about jQuery. I am trying to design a graphic menu bar that is capable of displaying each button in 4 modes: up (neutral), hover, down (mouse down), and selected. After some research, I was able to "come up" (by cutting and pasting and burning up a couple of neurons) with the code below. It works well enough but I'm sure it could be written a lot better. What I really would like to do is to change whatever button is "down" to go back "up" once another button is pushed, changing the img src, or by whatever method is more efficient.
I am trying to dynamically close a div overlay. I have an x that dynamically appears, then closes when the user presses it. I want the overlay to also close when the user clicks the close button. So far I've tried to bind the click event to my button but its not working.
CSS: div#testbutton{} HTML <a href="#" id="testbutton"><img id="testbutton" class="close" src="/images/common/button-close.gif"/></a>
I have a button on my site, which when clicked calls an ajax function. What I want to do though, is append a loading graphic for just 2 seconds inside the button such that it looks as if the website is 'busy' saving when the button is clicked. This is obviously just for user feedback as the 'save' is done instantly - it's just for user feedback to make the user confident that the save button has worked. To do this, I'm trying to append a loading image to the save button, delay for 2 seconds, then remove the image, but it doesn't seem to work.
I have this HTML:
<p><a href="#" title="" class="save">Save</a></p> And this jQuery: $ (
This script fades a web pages background when you mouseover a graphic. The problem I'm having is it goes from white to black and I need it to go from black to white. I was able to reverse it like I wanted but the page still initially starts off white instead of black. Setting the pages background to black doesn't fix the problem either.
Here's what I'm trying to do: When someone clicks on plain text with div of "hdrlink", then div of "slideshow" will close up using toggle. At the same time also need div of "headerNav" to move up 300px. When the user clicks "hdrlink" again, then "slideshow" reappears and "headerNav" move back down 300px (starting position)Here's the script:
I have 10 buttons on a page, and 10 more "onmouseover buttons" that correlate to the first set. Each button or onmouseover button is only 1-2KB! But I can still hold the mouse over a button for a couple seconds until it loads the onmouseover button. I'm using javascript to have the buttons change. The page does load a 2MB video. Could that be the cause? Can I tell it to load the buttons first somehow?
I've seen some sites going what I want to achieve, but I cant remember the names of them.
I have an iframe on a page ( its a local page ), when a user submits this page, I want to display a "busy graphic" while waiting for the results, does anybody have a link to such and example?
Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
I am a systems analyst and network admin for [url].... We already have an exisiting site, which has JS. We now need to add a lightbox effect onload that will basically overlay the page in grey and focus on a banner before you can access it. Thus, pushing everyone who visits to read a banner. I would also like to add an "x" graphic in the top right corner of the projected image to close the banner and return to veiwing our site.
I just don't see any possibility to change the height of a button. I am developing an application to list many articles. The height of the collapsible buttons/select buttons is therefore to large, i want the buttons to be as small as possible.
It is supposed be just 2 different lines of changing buttons. I was planning to use the "+" and "-" buttons to add/subtract button lights from a column. Unless I did something wrong, I think it should work, but it doesn't... Why?
what i need to do to add all the radio botton and check box. i already finish the add formula on the checkbox but i do not know how to add the two selected radio buttons to my checkbox buttons.for example:
