Z-index And Get The Links To Work But The Image Is Full Size
May 15, 2011
I am to create 4 links on a html page that when the link is clicked it brings an image up in a certain position. When you click the second link it is to bring that image up in the same position as the first image and so on and so on. I can get the links to work but the image is full size and it is not in the position that I was expecting it to be in. Once the image is displayed it covers the links so they are not able to be used. I put all the code on one page just for testing purposes, I figred that if I could get it to work in one page splitting the code into a css page and a js page would be the easy part. I have rewritten the code with buttons instead of links and I get the same result.I think there is a problem with the css but I am not sure.
I so far have a scrollable image gallery of some thumbnails, I now wish to be able to click on the thumbnails and it load the corresponding full sized image with the website and everything else behind it being darkened/dimmed.the xhtml is structured like this so far, with no links to the full size images
I am looking for a plugin that will popup a full size image WITH HYPERLINK when user clicks the thumbnail image link. I found [url] is useful but I can't add the hyperlink to the full size popup image.
I am trying to make a site for a photgrapher where the user see's thumbnails of his pictures, then when the pictures are clicked on I want them to open up in a dynamic content box.I can only assume that this is JS/AJAX coding that does this.I have found the following bit of code that does almost this. Except it performs the function on page load and not on mouse click and it opens one of two pages randomly.
var interstitialBox={ //1) list of files on server to randomly pick from and display displayfiles: ['samplecontent.htm', 'samplecontent2.htm'],[code]...
from what I can tell, each thumbnail would need their own bit of code that calls on a function related to the full size image url.
I've built this DreamWeaver template for a website, the links I am using are Jpegs that, when rolled over, change to another Jpeg with a different color scheme. When I preview the template in any browser on in DreamWeaver's Live View, everything appears to be working fine.
Here's the problem: When I make an HTML page based on the template and attempt to view that HTML page, I get the following results:
Firefox: Nothing happens when rolling over IE: ActiveX prompt, upon allowing unblocked content I'll go over a button, at which point it switches to that "I can't find the image" image. DW Live View: Same as Firefox
I can't think of anything that would make that happen, here is the code I am using.
i downloaded Anylink drop down menu from dynamicdrive.com. i am able to get it to work with text links, but they dont show you how to set it up for image links. here is the page im talking about.
[URL]
here is the css to my page that just contains the regular links dropdown.
@charset "utf-8"; /* CSS Document */ body { margin: 0; /* clear for browsers */
I'd like to implement something like what's found on [url] game description pages (when you click on a screenshot's thumbnail you zoom to the full-size screenshot). I'm currently in the process of stripping down their code to the bare minimum so I could try to understand how this can be done and then make my own. But this could potentially take a lot more time than needed. Are there any tutorials that I could read on this, instead?
I have a couple of image slideshows on my site and in IE occasionally the images appear shrunk down like thumbnails instead of full size. why that might happen and what i could do to stop it? [URL]
I have some jQuery that inserts rows in a table, and currently just set the font colour of the new row to a highlighted colour for a second or so, to show the added row.I would really like to be able to make the new row grow from zero height to its normal height, rather than just appear, as this woudl look nicer. Similarly, when I delete a row, instead of fading to zero opacity, then being removed abruptly (which causes the rows below to jump up),I tried this using show() and hide(), which I thought would do it, but they don't. They fade the opacity correctly, but change the height in one jump.
I am new to jquery, and love it so far, but I am more of a designer, not a developer. I am learning jquery to enhance my sites, and I am having a problem figuring out buttons.
I have them working in firefox and safari, but in IE links do not work.
Basically, when you click a link a function is called with a parameter based on the particular link you run. Then the code runs through an xml file, and if the parent of the nodes I've cyling through has a value equal to the parameter past to the function, that node is used to create a new link with window.open function attached to it.It all works, or seems to, and when I alert what is being built, it looks right to me, yet the links don't work.I've attached a copy of one of the alerts of one of the links as it's built.
I am trying to load a different index.html page for each different screen size that the browser has. So the page looks best at different resolutions.I am not really able to test it since I haven't finished building all the different resolution index pages yet. I am just wondering if anyone sees any glaring errors in my coding.This is my script:
<script src="javascript/stndlibrary.js"> var screendim=getWindowSize(); var screenwidth=screendim[0];[code]......
I searched before more and more but I can't find those things that exactly I want.
I'm on design a new website, you can see this page: [URL]...in this page I have 3 hidden DIV, and at top of content area I have 3 buttons (About, Karan Group, Contact), please click on those buttons and see action.
I'd write this motions by jquery but it's really really amateur! because I have to define all things like below codes (as working for output):
I've got this listbox full of hundreds of employee names. Clicking on a name executes a function using onchange. Because of the length of the list I decided a search function would be really handy and I finally found one that works.
Now the search function, when you type in the input box, scrolls the list to the first matching entry. And that's good, that's what I wanted.
The problem comes in when you try to click on the name the search function found. Nothing happens ofcourse because the onchange tag in the list reacts to changes, not direct clicks.
code:
The list is populated by java but for testing I disabled the function that clears the "Loading" option and I set it to selected. That way the loading option is highlighted by default and the search function is free to highlight something else, then when I click on the search result it works like it's supposed to.
But keeping a highlighted option at the top of the list for that sole purpose isn't very elegant, especially since if you click on it the onchange function tries to execute and generates errors. The only solution I can think of is to use java to generate another option way at the bottom of the list that has the selected attribute but I don't quite know how to do that.
I have a page whit many links ( for example a Dictionary ) ,I want all links in this page open in the special window size whitout scroll ,statusbar,toolbar,.....
I have script for one link but I want a one code for all links or the script which I can insert in head of main page for all links .
I have this simple code here: var container = document.getElementById(con); var obj = container.getElementsByTagName('img'); And I want to get the full HTML image tag using the obj value, if you get what I mean. So I want to get this: <img src="images/image_209948045.jpg" /> by using this: obj[0];
i have image button i need to display image .if the size of the image button is 100*100 and image size is 50*50 .the remaining space of the image button should be empty.the image should not stretch.
However, the value only seems to include the filename - and not the full path (what I'm trying to achieve, is a "preview" feature - which will shrink the image down to a fixed size, and update an existing <img id="xxx"> bit in the HTML)
i'm making a clothing website and i was just wondering.. if i have a bunch of thumbnail sized images on the page atm, how would i go about so if people put their mouse over the thumbnail, it would load the full sized T-shirt? I obviously have the images on my computer and host for the Thumbnails and the Real-image sized shirts.
What I am trying to do: A full screen background image, that auto refreshes every 3 seconds. How I am doing it: I am using EvoCam for my camera software. It uploads the image to my server every 3 seconds, perfectly fine. I am using "Back Stretch" for my full screen capabilities, as I found it to work best is all browsers. BackStretch
My Problem: Using backstretch, applies the background image to the page through javascript, so I dont have an <img> tag to manipulate. A lot/all of the image refresh scripts I have found, use examples where there is an <img> tag. I had used another jQuery method of doing the background that had image tags but did not work in all browsers. When I was using this method, I ran into cache problems where the new image would not load.
Where do I go? I am feeling a bit lost, being relatively new to Javascript, I am unsure of how to go about clearing these problems I have. I feel that the eventual answer is to timestamp the photos, and include the timestamp into the image refresh, and somehow make it so that I am refreshing the Code: <pre><code><script type="text/javascript"> $.backstretch("images/myCam.gif", {speed: 1}); </script> </code></pre> that controls my background image. I have found scripts that include timestamp refreshes, but the way that EvoCam timestamps the image is of a different format than the way Javascript uses
EvoCam images look like: webcam2011-05-11-16-21-34.jpg and I thought Javascript looks relatively the same, but without the dashes. I have a test page set up, where you can see my surly, discouraged face [URL].
I have been following a tutorial for an image gallery, i can upload images and use gd to create thumbnails that when clicked display the full sized image, but the full sized image is to big to fit in my design, i have managed to get the rel="lightbox" attached to the thumbnails as they are displayed but it wont load the full image, the loading ring just keeps going round, does anybody know how to fix this? is it even possible.
