View 2 RepliesWhat I am trying to do: A full screen background image, that auto refreshes every 3 seconds.
How I am doing it: I am using EvoCam for my camera software. It uploads the image to my server every 3 seconds, perfectly fine. I am using "Back Stretch" for my full screen capabilities, as I found it to work best is all browsers. BackStretch
My Problem: Using backstretch, applies the background image to the page through javascript, so I dont have an <img> tag to manipulate. A lot/all of the image refresh scripts I have found, use examples where there is an <img> tag. I had used another jQuery method of doing the background that had image tags but did not work in all browsers. When I was using this method, I ran into cache problems where the new image would not load.
Where do I go? I am feeling a bit lost, being relatively new to Javascript, I am unsure of how to go about clearing these problems I have. I feel that the eventual answer is to timestamp the photos, and include the timestamp into the image refresh, and somehow make it so that I am refreshing the
Code:
<pre><code><script type="text/javascript">
$.backstretch("images/myCam.gif", {speed: 1});
</script>
</code></pre>
that controls my background image. I have found scripts that include timestamp refreshes, but the way that EvoCam timestamps the image is of a different format than the way Javascript uses
EvoCam images look like: webcam2011-05-11-16-21-34.jpg
and I thought Javascript looks relatively the same, but without the dashes.
I have a test page set up, where you can see my surly, discouraged face [URL].
im trying to make it so that when clicking thumbnails it will change the full screen background to its respective picture along with continuing its automatic slideshow
www.petpawfurry.com is the website in which im working on.
also, is there anyway to make the slider, slide to the right, instead of fading in and out?
I have a few "panels" that I am looking to cycle. The panel has a width of 100% with a background image. It is supposed to span the whole width of the browser. the content is set at a specific width, centered in this panel. I am looking to cycle the background image and content but just can't get it to work (the panels have a set width and are pinned to the left, not centered.

Right, here goes: I'm using a modified "jQuery Cycle Plugin - 'goto' Demo 2 (aka: Poor Man's pager)" implementation of the Cycle plugin, this works fine in FF2+, Op9, Saf3+ and Chrome2 but in IE cycle stops the background- image from repeating! As usual I cannot give out a public link due to NDA but I can give you these two image locations to see the differences: [URL]
Here is my current code.

<div id="gallery">
<div id="thumbnails"></div>

I've attempted to get Cycle to function as a full screen slideshow.I love Cycle for it's simple clean code, and easy implementation and also powerful options.However, when I resize my browser window, even with OnResize events in place, the Cycle plugin usually maintains the images at the size of the onload event.So I ask you, as a meager and humble creative who loves to do front end dev... how can we get Jquery cycle working at full screen and with browser window resize?nd while these both are interesting and very useful, the code is very strict and the galleries are a "swiss army knife" combination of things, easily broken, and a little proprietary
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been using Mike Alsup's Cycle plugin on a large number ofprojects, and one of the most recent ones is giving me trouble in IE.In this example, the slide container seems to have a background colorapplied to it, and there is neither a background property added to itnor is there any background property in the CSS for the slide elementor its children. I finally decided to recreate the effect from scratchto make sure it wasn't some strange IE bug or the markup, and the from-scratch version works no problem. Here are the two examples, both arein the "past lectures" module:[URL]
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've used the cycle plugin on several Wordpress sites and it works great, except that when I run it the background is visible between transitions. Instead of a smooth fade between images, there is a long pause between images. Even when I use the default values, there is still a noticeable delay between the slides.
$(document).ready(function() {
$('.slideshow').css("overflow", "hidden").cycle({
fx: 'fade', sync: 1, speed: 2000, timeout: 3000, delay: -2000,
});
});
The current site I am using the cycle plugin on is [URL]
I'm trying to get the full value from an "image" field, with this:
$('#client_local_offer_image').change(function(){
alert($('#client_local_offer_image').val());
});
However, the value only seems to include the filename - and not the full path (what I'm trying to achieve, is a "preview" feature - which will shrink the image down to a fixed size, and update an existing <img id="xxx"> bit in the HTML)
I'm a bit new to jQuery but am loving it so far.. especially the cycle plugin. I have a strange problem that I've not been able to find the solution to anywhere else. Everything works just fine with the exception of one issue thats causing me problem. I'm using cycle to control 3 different fading animations on my page. On 2 of the animations I'd like to pause cycle after the image fades out for a few seconds but before cycle fades the next image in. The catch is that I want the timing to be different for each pause before the next cycle begins.
The goal is for#hpcontent,#hphead,#hpfade3to fade out all at the same time. Then for#hphead to pause for 2 seconds before it fades in the next random image, and#hpfade3to pause for 3 seconds before it fades in the next random image

I tried something like:
$('img').load(function() { /*code*/ });
it will work?
I so far have a scrollable image gallery of some thumbnails, I now wish to be able to click on the thumbnails and it load the corresponding full sized image with the website and everything else behind it being darkened/dimmed.the xhtml is structured like this so far, with no links to the full size images
<div class="sc_menu">
<ul class="sc_menu">

I am looking for a plugin that will popup a full size image WITH HYPERLINK when user clicks the thumbnail image link. I found [url] is useful but I can't add the hyperlink to the full size popup image.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am working on a script which will get images (.jpg & .png) from a directory in my server.
HTML Code:
jQuery.getJSON(url, function(data) {
var images = jQuery.map(data.photos.photo, function (item){
return '/images/';
});
callback(images);
});
}
At, /image/ , I want to get all of the images in a from a set up directory full of images, named as 1.png, 2.png, 3.png ,etc. Lets say that the directory of the images are in /images/, How do I set it up so that this script gets the images?
I have yet to be able to do this successfully. I am using the Cycle Plugin to cycle through a series of images and corresponding caption. To show the images, I use:
<div id="cycle-container">
<?php query_posts("cat=38&showposts=2"); ?>
<?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?>
<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" title="<?php the_title(); ?>">
<img src="http://www.website.com/uploads/<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, 'Image', true); ?>" alt="Icon [Code]...
Problem: The captions do not effectively cycle. What appears is the first caption from php the_excerpt but it does not change to the next php the_excerpt text. Can I solve this problem so I get the text from php the_excerpt to correspond to each image??
I am building a simple t-shirt creator app for my shop and I am using the interface.js library: [URL].. docs/drag to drag/drop and re-size the graphic on the shirt background image.
Once the user has chosen a spot to put the graphic, how do I save the background image of the t-shirt with the image they dropped in the correct spot? Like, to merge the two graphics in place?
I have a div set up like this
<div id='y' style='background-image: url(./randomcolor.php?ibase=
<?
php echo $entity

[code]....
I am having an issue with setting the background-image of a another div #x to the background image of #y.Correct me if I am wrong but I think you would do this in a simple case by saying
$
(
'#x'
).
[code]....
So when it does it, it is getting the URL of the generator (I logged it. what is actually being passed is [URL] This would require a server call to generate a new image, In this particular application, even if it wasn't exactly the image y had it would be acceptable. But it's not doing it. It is not getting any image at all. Am I doing something wrong, i.e. is it supposed to just work? I would think not, since the page has already been rendered. This is almost an ajax situation but I don't know how to do it for an image. I don't really want to generate a new image anyway, I'd be very happy to get the one that's already there. How would I access the actual image already attached to y and not do another server call?
I have this simple code here:
var container = document.getElementById(con);
var obj = container.getElementsByTagName('img');
And I want to get the full HTML image tag using the obj value, if you get what I mean. So I want to get this:
<img src="images/image_209948045.jpg" />
by using this: obj[0];
i'm making a clothing website and i was just wondering.. if i have a bunch of thumbnail sized images on the page atm, how would i go about so if people put their mouse over the thumbnail, it would load the full sized T-shirt? I obviously have the images on my computer and host for the Thumbnails and the Real-image sized shirts.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have been following a tutorial for an image gallery, i can upload images and use gd to create thumbnails that when clicked display the full sized image, but the full sized image is to big to fit in my design, i have managed to get the rel="lightbox" attached to the thumbnails as they are displayed but it wont load the full image, the loading ring just keeps going round, does anybody know how to fix this? is it even possible.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am to create 4 links on a html page that when the link is clicked it brings an image up in a certain position. When you click the second link it is to bring that image up in the same position as the first image and so on and so on. I can get the links to work but the image is full size and it is not in the position that I was expecting it to be in. Once the image is displayed it covers the links so they are not able to be used. I put all the code on one page just for testing purposes, I figred that if I could get it to work in one page splitting the code into a css page and a js page would be the easy part. I have rewritten the code with buttons instead of links and I get the same result.I think there is a problem with the css but I am not sure.

I have this working fine, and I can append the preloaded image to a hidden div then fade the div in for a smooth effect.
Problem is I want to set this preloaded image as a css background image, not as a <img /> in a container. But if when the image is loaded, instead of .prepend() I do .css() and set the css property of a background-image to be the preloaded images URL, then when it carries on with displaying it the browser loads the image again. Rather than using the preloaded one.
I want the image to be a background image as I want it centered in the page background, even if it is too large for the viewport.
I have a LARGE, hi-resolution image that I am trying to use as the background for a page. Because it is so large, it takes a while to download. Because of this, I wanted to load the image behind-the-scenes and show it once it is downloaded.
To accomplish this, I'm using the following JQuery code:
This code clearly downloads an image and appends it to my DIV element. However, I really want to set this downloaded image to the background-image CSS property of my DIV. The reason why is because I have content inside the DIV that should serve as the foreground.
How do I dynamically download an image, fade it in, and use it as a background?
I am trying to make a site for a photgrapher where the user see's thumbnails of his pictures, then when the pictures are clicked on I want them to open up in a dynamic content box.I can only assume that this is JS/AJAX coding that does this.I have found the following bit of code that does almost this. Except it performs the function on page load and not on mouse click and it opens one of two pages randomly.
var interstitialBox={
//1) list of files on server to randomly pick from and display
displayfiles: ['samplecontent.htm', 'samplecontent2.htm'],[code]...
from what I can tell, each thumbnail would need their own bit of code that calls on a function related to the full size image url.
I have a page, which is actually a photo gallery with a table having 3 rows. First row shows the full screen size pic. Second row displays the Caption of that image and third row shows thumbnail view of six different images and the previous and next button.this is the sample layout:
<table>
<tr>
<td colspan=8>
[code]...
My requirement is whenever the user click on the thumbnail view, which is in the 3rd row, the corresponding full screen size pic should open in 1st row of the table.As my photo gallery should be having more than 6 pics, lets take 20 pics, I want to show only 6 thumbnails in 3rd row at a time. Whenever user press "Next" button the 3rd row having 6 thumbnails should show other 6 thumbnails and previous button should show previous 6 thumbnails.
at [URL] I am using jquery cycle in 5 divs. As you will see, in 4 of them it works perfectly, but in the main image it is only showing every second slide and fading to blank on the others.
Yes, all the images are there.
The weird thing is that I essentially copied and pasted this code for the lower areas and they worked perfectly straight off.
