Textbox Stored To Array Then Displayed In Textarea?
Mar 24, 2010
I am looking to have the user input a word into a textbox then when the user hits an "Add" button, the word is stored to an array and then is displayed in a table. I also want the textbox to clear after the "Add" button is pressed. Next, I want the user to be able to input another word into the textbox and when the "Add" button is pressed, have that word stored to same array as the first word but just to a different number.ingredient(0)=first word; ingredient(1)=second word. Then I want the second word to be displayed right below the first word in the table, in the next line down.This is what I have so far.[URL]...
I want to have a simple code such that some data is stored in array. When we create a search box it has to give suggestions from the data stored in array.
I am having a problem to add numbers store in an array. arrayValues[0][0] = 1; arrayValues[0][1] = 2; var col = 0; var sum; for ( var row = 0; row < index; i++ ) sum += arrayValues[col][row]; My result is ==> 12 it is defining my sum variable as string. Even I try do do this var sum = 0; to define sum as numeric variable. my result was ==>012.
So when the page loads the thumbnails cycle through using setInterval. When the user clicks on one of the thumbnails, it is supposed to open a new window and show the enlarged version of that thumbnail stored in bigpics. However it only comes up with a broken image link. Any ideas why this is not working?
Visit [url]. I want to to save 32 stations grid in exactly the same format or better yet be able to somehow copy it in excel w/out going into the source and manually editing it. How is this possible?
The script works if the images are stored within the HTML but when I try to store them in the JS array, it fails. Is there any way to store the images in JS with this script?
Years ago I used to have a Javscript Dropdown Menu. When an option was selected whatever was in the Value="text here" would be displayed in either a <input> or <textarea>. I have looked all over and can't locate such a script. This type of setup is great for FAQs in chats and in forums.
When I leave the first textbox (taborder 1), I need to check and see if the textbox contains avalue. If it does, then I need to check and see if the second textbox (taborder 2)contains a value. If it doesNOT, then I need to loadthe second textboxwith "100" and highlight (select) the text. I am adding a blur event to all the column one textboxes as they all contain"rawCount" in the id. Here is my blur event code:
$(document).ready(function(){ $('input[id*=rawCount]').bind('blur', function (event) { // Code to go here }); });
What I am trying to do isadd thecode tocheck and update thecolumn two textbox in the corresponding row (same index)to the blur event of the column one textboxes without having to loop the array each time to find the current textbox array position. Since it is adding the blur event, it has to be possible.
Well it seems that i have a textbox and a textarea under it. Both sizes are 20 but they don't seem identical. Is there a way to make them identical vertically?
I've got this javascript routine (i found on google) in an asp.net page that on page reload sets the cursor of a textbox to the last line. It works great!
Using a similar concept, I have another application that uses a textbox like an editor window and has a save and other buttons. Problem is - when I save/post/reload, the textbox returns to cursor the top again.
How can I preserve / save the exact cursor spot and return to the exact same spot I was in before I saved. Code:
In a Text Area or Rich Edit Text Box I need to control whitespaces in between strings. For example if I have a : 1234 this is text test123. When I restore this information on the text area the spaces between those strings are not respected and only 1 space is in between those strings. When I browsed forums I see that we can use <pre> to hold the formats. I am new to programming don't know whether I need to work on HTML DOM for this text area or I can handle it in Javascript.
I want to implement a text input box for SMS text messages and the messages are limited to 160 characters (including spaces, etc.). I would like the font color of the text to be green as the user types and any text beyond 160 characters to be red. I would like to do this with one input box, the same box that the user is typing in not a separate display box. This will be on the users local PC it won't be on the Internet.
I have web form (not MVC) that has bunch of textarea and textboxes where user can input HTML markup. For example, a textarea is provided so users can put YouTube embed iframe html tag where it will be shown on their profile. The problem is that asp.net 4.0 http request validation doesn't like things like ">" or "<", etc. I can put pagevalidation="false" on the page and/or revert back to .net 2.0 validation but why would I want to do that since I have geniuses like you guys that can show me how to do what I want with jquery without jeopardizing security.
So what I want to do is form a handler so when the form is submitted, the content of the textboxes and textarea on the page be encoded (i.e. > to > etc.) before the submission to the asp.net 4.0 so we can keep the httprequest validation stuff happy. I have added a class "mustEncode" to each of the textarea and textboxes.
I need to take the text in a textarea, split it into an array, and have the items in the array be added to a dropdown menu. When I try to split the value of the textarea (which, by the way, contains comma-delimited text) into an array, the array invariably ends up with only one item in it, and that item contains the entire contents of the textarea all jammed together with the commas removed.
The offending code:
Code:
In my test page, the text area (DownListTextBox) contains "yes,no" and when the alert fires it shows that the array has a length of 1. The Option added to the dropdown list has a text of "yesno". So, what did I do wrong?
var val1=document.getElementById("text_1"); var but_val=document.getElementById("button_1"); var but_val2=document.getElementById("button_2"); var but_val3=document.getElementById("button_3");
I've written this javascript that puts lines of text into a readonly textarea, each line ends with a newline character. I have a function that checks that no duplicates exist, it does this by splitting the textarea by newlines into an array. This works as it should in Firefox, but not in IE. Code:
I have a pre-populated array in a JavaScript. How to populate TEXTAREA field with the text from that array, each entry on different line on page load? Say, value at index 1 will come at line 1; value at index 2 will come at line 2 and so on.
I am getting problem to count characters in textarea box. I create the array in form and tried to count the character in a textarea box. but its not work.
HTML Code: <html> <head> <script type="text/javascript">
I have a section of javascript that declares a global variable for a few functions, like this incomplete code
Code:
The above, in its full version, changes the text in a textarea. In my php code, if I include the above code above the textarea, it all works as expected.
The problem is that I may have more than one textarea - the number cannot be known beforehand. If I include the above before each textarea, the pointer gets confused as to which string belongs to which textarea since the global variables get redefined many times. In php, this would be a simple problem to solve with a mutildimensional array but, from what I understand, javascript doesn't have such arrays.
Someone can provide a solution that will allow me to use the same block of code over and over in the same file.
I am getting problem to count characters in textarea box. I create the array in form and tried to count the character in a textarea box. but its not work. HTML CODE IS:
