Dropdown Menu - Value Displayed In Input Or Textarea
Jul 29, 2009
Years ago I used to have a Javscript Dropdown Menu. When an option was selected whatever was in the Value="text here" would be displayed in either a <input> or <textarea>. I have looked all over and can't locate such a script. This type of setup is great for FAQs in chats and in forums.
I'm using simple jQuery dropdown menu Code: <script type='text/javascript'> jQuery(document).ready(function() { jQuery("#dropmenu ul").css({display: "none"}); jQuery("#dropmenu li").hover(function(){ jQuery(this).find('ul:first').css({visibility: "visible",display: "none"}).show(268); },function(){ jQuery(this).find('ul:first').css({visibility: "hidden"}); }); }); </script> What I need is: when someone clicks on submenu that element would be stay displayed under parent element.
I am looking to have the user input a word into a textbox then when the user hits an "Add" button, the word is stored to an array and then is displayed in a table. I also want the textbox to clear after the "Add" button is pressed. Next, I want the user to be able to input another word into the textbox and when the "Add" button is pressed, have that word stored to same array as the first word but just to a different number.ingredient(0)=first word; ingredient(1)=second word. Then I want the second word to be displayed right below the first word in the table, in the next line down.This is what I have so far.[URL]...
I wanted to create a small DHTML code that created a unordered list of input forms dependent on the number selected from the select dropdown menu. Problem is that it doesn't seem to want to generate the list. I think the variables are within the scope of the function too, and I didn't get an errors from the javascript console when using firebug. The script itself runs, I tested it when I used the old standby alert(); to see if the script was active. Here's the code:
I have a mega menu that when the main menu items is hovered over the mega menu the div is displayed. I want to keep the div from being shown off the right of the browser screen. I have the following that determines the amount a div is off the right of the browser:
Code: function keepMenuLeft(){ var div_width = $("li.hovering div").width();
I have a project where I need a selection of one dropdown menu may affect the select of multiple other dropdown menus on the same page.First, a table is generated, and within each row, it contains a dropdown menu. Assume: Rows A, B, C, etc..., and Dropdown selection: 1, 2, & 3If dropdown in Row A selects 2, then I want the selection of dropdowns in rows B & C to dynamically change to 2.And if in Row C user selects 3, then the selection in dropdowns in rows A & B should dynamically change to 3.
My question is if there is a way to add a input field on my website where people will type their email and then press "GO" or "submit" and they will be directed to another website and their email they enterd will automatically be displayd on that websites email submission. and if its possible that it would press the submit button on that page as well directly. cant find any tutorial on this on html or java,
I cant find an example for this, but I'm sure people will know what I mean. Imagine a form on a page, the user hits submit, but a new page does not load, instead a "busy" graphic displays, then disappears and then the results of the input are displayed.
Does anybody have a link to a tutorial or an example of this kind of feature? Or even a few google keywords to search for would be cool also.
Code: <SELECT NAME=sections > <OPTION>Merge</OPTION> <OPTION>Nuke</OPTION> <OPTION>Merge & Nuke</OPTION> </SELECT> If one selects Merge, then i want another form displayed with input fileds etc.
Can anyone show a script (i.e. javascript) that does just that or care for a example?
IĀ“m using the superfish jquery Module at the website of a costumers. [url] Now the costumer wants that the submenus always where displayed and stay extended! If i chose "other parameters" in the superfish menu options i can enable Expand Menu. But my menu is still not expanded! Nothing happens! Is there a easy possibility to do this? I am using Joomla 1.5 with the latest Updates!
I actually want to make a horizontal drop down menu with a sub menu.As far as I have researched, I think that it can be done by JavaScript. I have searched for some java scripts but they are very long and complex.
That made me wonder that for a funcitonality like a Drop down is so complex?
So here is my question : Is there any JavaScript that can be applied for drop down menu exclusively? Which just presents logic of drop down solely?
I have a dropdownbox with values. When the user selects a value and presses the button [add], this value is added to the textareabox. Now I like to create a function that will remove the selected value from the same dropdownbox from the textareabox when the user presses a button [remove]. Currently I check if the textareabox is empty and set the value from the dropdown to the textareabox. If it is not empty, it will add the value + a linebreak ( )
Example: <Select name="A"> <option value="" selected>select</option> <option value="123, xy; ">123, xy</option> (notice the space at the end after the [;] !)
I have a form which has a dropdown menu on it. The last option on the menu "other". When "other is clicked, I would like a textarea to become visible, so that the user can enter the new information. Does anyone know how I might do this?
Here is the html for the form:
HTML Code: Union: <select name="union" id="union"> <option value="choose">Choose One</option> <option value="ibew">International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers</option> <option value="ibt">International Brotherhood of Teamsters</option>
My script works ok in IE but not in firefox.Basically i have a dropdown list that onclick adds the values to a textarea field on same page. It works ok if you just select from the dropdown to begin.However as soon as you press a key with the cursor in focus of the textarea it disables the further addition from the dropdown.This doesn't happen in IE so it's probably a syntax error.'m new to all this and i search the internet to build the scripts by trial and error -this is my way of learning. Anyway here is the code;avascript:
function test(){ document.getElementById('taid').innerHTML+=document.getElementById ('selid').value;
I have a php function that displays a dropdown menu of values pulled from a mysql database. I want the selected menu item to be inserted into the 2 text areas automatically. Now, if I use a <a href tag it works fine but if I have it in a dropdown, it doesnt Code:
I wrote a script that tracks the number of characters a user types into a text box. It has a limit you can set, and when that limit is reached I would like to block the user from entering any more text.
How can I block the user from typing characters in the textarea?
i wants to change one input to texarea when i select one from radio, plz any suggestion how i would do that?so when i click inputtext radio name"other" will become a textrea rather then input type text.
I want to separate textarea from input in my HTML form! I have done it but it's ugly and slow and not useful. I want to do one loop through my whole form and separate one from the other so I can specify how to pull the value. The form is PHP and very dynamic so I don't know the names of the fields.
I am trying to code a webpage that does the following:Listens for user key presses in an input box and dynamically writes them below the input box in a textarea.
