Jun 23, 2009Well it seems that i have a textbox and a textarea under it. Both sizes are 20 but they don't seem identical. Is there a way to make them identical vertically?

Textbox Stored To Array Then Displayed In Textarea?
Mar 24, 2010I am looking to have the user input a word into a textbox then when the user hits an "Add" button, the word is stored to an array and then is displayed in a table. I also want the textbox to clear after the "Add" button is pressed. Next, I want the user to be able to input another word into the textbox and when the "Add" button is pressed, have that word stored to same array as the first word but just to a different number.ingredient(0)=first word; ingredient(1)=second word. Then I want the second word to be displayed right below the first word in the table, in the next line down.This is what I have so far.[URL]...

Jul 20, 2005I've got this javascript routine (i found on google) in an
asp.net page that on page reload sets the cursor of a textbox to the
last line. It works great!
Using a similar concept, I have another application that uses a
textbox like an editor window and has a save and other buttons.
Problem is - when I save/post/reload, the textbox returns to cursor
the top again.
How can I preserve / save the exact cursor spot and return to the
exact same spot I was in before I saved. Code:

Nov 11, 2009In a Text Area or Rich Edit Text Box I need to control whitespaces in between strings. For example if I have a : 1234 this is text test123. When I restore this information on the text area the spaces between those strings are not respected and only 1 space is in between those strings. When I browsed forums I see that we can use <pre> to hold the formats. I am new to programming don't know whether I need to work on HTML DOM for this text area or I can handle it in Javascript.

I would like the font color of the text to be green as the user types and any text beyond 160 characters to be red. Sep 19, 2011I have web form (not MVC) that has bunch of textarea and textboxes where user can input HTML markup. For example, a textarea is provided so users can put YouTube embed iframe html tag where it will be shown on their profile. The problem is that asp.net 4.0 http request validation doesn't like things like ">" or "<", etc. I can put pagevalidation="false" on the page and/or revert back to .net 2.0 validation but why would I want to do that since I have geniuses like you guys that can show me how to do what I want with jquery without jeopardizing security.
So what I want to do is form a handler so when the form is submitted, the content of the textboxes and textarea on the page be encoded (i.e. > to > etc.) before the submission to the asp.net 4.0 so we can keep the httprequest validation stuff happy. I have added a class "mustEncode" to each of the textarea and textboxes.

Textarea - How To Make Generated HTML Visible
Nov 14, 2011I have a script (more of a web app) which generates a customized table element. I want the user to be able to "save" this table. Thus far, what I am doing is getting the HTML of the table and displaying in a textarea for the user to cut and paste to a text editor. This is fine, except, I worry many in my target audience wont know how to use a text editor, or make plain text, or save as HTML.. etc. So I was hoping to use .js to open a new window and write in the HTML so that the users could merely do a FILE>SAVE PAGE AS directly from their browsers.
I suppose I have two questions:
1) How do I document.write to a NEW window??
2) I have noticed that when you use.js to generate HTML, it doesn't show in the view source , thus it wont "save as" anything else but a BLANK doc. How to make generated HTML "visible" so that it can be saved.

Grab The HTML From A .NET Panel - Div - And Make The Changes And Store Them In A Textbox

What it is supposed to do, is grab the HTML from a .NET panel (div) and make the changes and store them in a textbox, so that when the page is posted, the values are retained and can be re-read back to the .NET panel. I have found this script works in IE but doesn't work in FF. Now I know it is something I am doing wrong, but I can not work out what it is.

I have checked my syntax and I am sure it is correct. The only thing I can see that might be causing the problem is that I set final as the original and then I get the list of inputs.
From there I loop through and set the value of the inputs to the new values.
If I do an alert, the value shows what I would expect, but setting the store value as the final innerHTML doesn't appear to keep these values.
Could it be that once I pull the inputs from the final (placeholder = final.getElementsByTagName("input");) then changes I make to them do not affect the final variable?
