I'm looking for a simple way to store a cookie of all form data (form contains text, textbox, checkbox, radio button, and dropdown) on submit so that the form repopulates with the same data when the page is reloaded.I have found several solutions online that cover one aspect or another to varying degrees, but nothing that is easy for a beginner and covers all the bases.

What I am trying to do is create a button to store cookies containing all user information with an alert message and set the expiration date one day after the visit. (This is just a project I am working on to help me understand how to create cookies.)Below is the cookies code I came up with but it doesn't seem to be functioning at all.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have a Cisco ASA that I use as a proxy server as such. I have a internal site that it will not pass credentials to so I was looking for a way to do that. Not being a site developer the only way I can come up with is to maybe pass it by using a cookie to store the password and ID. Below is the code I am trying to use. I can create the cookie with the code below but it will not change the PATH or the Domain for some reason. Also I do not think it is reading from the cookie not sure why. Basically I need it to set the cookie with the user info and then grab the info from the cookie to auto log the user in to the internal site.

Requirement is to have JavaScript-based client-side pagination on a page with form items. We need to retain the form values the user selected while they paginate. Normally I would store everything in a cookie and move on, however, security requirements forbid the storing of passwords in a cookie; passwords being one of the form values.
Since I can't use cookies, what other options do I have? Requirements do not permit me yet to ping the server; everything must be client-based during pagination.
I have a simple count-as-you click button form, and this is what I want to do with it:
Click the button (however many times) to get the sets of numerical data.Take those numbers into a cookie, and be able to add/subtract to each number as i use the form again; and update the cookie. I need a way to be able to do this multiple if not an infinite number of times!

The following code shows the script I am using. I tried to .hide() or .show() the specific content according to which radio button is clicked. Hiding the right content works without any problem if I disable the cookie stuff.

when this page loads i want the name input type field to automatically display the resuld of my cookie. if this page does not have a cookie set yet it shouldn't put anything in the field. when i use the script below, the cookies get set fine, and i can alert them when the page comes in, but the value will not show in the input field. when alerting alert window.document.cart3form.name.value) the returned value is undefined. anybody know how to get the unput field to enter right?

On my form I have 3 submit buttons which handle different things.I am looking for a way to stop or continue form execution with a confirm box on the third submit button and the third only.I can't use onsubmit because that will trigger on all three buttons.

I am using cookies to track form data the user inputs. The data only needs to be available during their session. I have well over 80 fields. How can I combine some of the cookies to cut down on the amount. I am storing them with JS and retrieving them with php.

I've created a table in my document, presenting a list of items, one
can 'select' by clicking on it... (Kinda like a menu, you make your
choice from) But since this table can get very long, I've put
something of a 'search-form' on top, which enables the user to make a
selection of products from the list.
Now, the form uses a "post" method, and submits to itself, using the
form action. Some PHP script will make sure that the form is filled
out already, the next time it's presented.
The table, containing a list of products is presented, below the form.
When a user clicks on a product, the product should be "selected". At
first i just used a <a href="zoeken.php?prod_id=24"> link to do this,
but the problem is that my form won't remain in tact.
So now, the global idea is to submit the form after setting a hidden
form-field using JavaScript, using a onClick event.

I am having a problem with the submit() method that is driving me nuts. I'm using document.form.submit() with large text fields (approx. 2000 characters) and am getting a "Invalid Syntax" error. If I do the same thing with a text field of under 1500 characters, it works fine.
Is there some size limit here that I don't know about?
