View 3 RepliesI wanted to only match in the middle of a string
I have a string = " sdfasf 23234"
I wanted to get the numbers like /([0-9]*)/
But this fails and returns nothing because the string begins with letters. Instead I had to do /[a-zA-Z ]*([0-9]*)/
If that's the case then, why do we bother with something like
/^[a-zA-Z]*([0-9]*)$/
The pattern is already assumed to start at the beginning of the string
Looking for a script that will start a website at a custom location [URL]tarts page at top: 800px, left: 400px) I am NOT looking for any sort of popup window positioning. When a visitor access the site using their browser I want that page to start at a location I specify like this website does: Please note, I realize this site uses anchor tags to accomplish this. I'm not good enough at Jquery to know how they did it, or modify it so that it also handles points left as well as top.The ideal script would position this point in the center of the browser window.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have found this nice background rotator:
Code:
<style>
body
{
/*Remove below line to make bgimage NOT fixed*/
background-color:black;
background-attachment:fixed;
background-repeat: no-repeat;
[Code]...
when i run it, i have to wait the 9000 timer to c the first image, and i need the page to start with an image and then start the rotation, i have assigned background-image by css, and tried also to use document.body.background, but when i do this the rotator doesnt work.
finding a "find on page" script that will display the results in the middle of the page for IE. I have tried several different ones to no avail. The ones that work in all the browsers display the result in IE at the very bottom of the page. I am not very familiar with programing in Java and I am unable to modify any for my needs. The one I found that did work in IE didn't work in any other browsers.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've copied and customized a script to display a css popup in my little website. The script should display a popup in the middle of the browser window, graying out the background, Everything seems to work fine except that at the end of the script, the page is displayed from the top. This means that if you click on the popup link from a position down in the page, you'll miss it because you will be taken to the top of the page, where you can't see it.
This is the HTML and CSS code:
HTML Code:
And the js:

I've been debugging with alert boxes and everything seems to be fine until the script ends execution. Then the user is brought again at the top of the page...
In my final site the only thing I would like to show in the popup is a Flash movie.
Do you know any workaround? I would even implement a completely different solution if I knew which...
By the way: At this stage I am using Chrome but I would like my solution to work in any browser, that will the next issue.
I managed to smooth out the animations on this page here. However, I'm unsure on how to get the Javascript script (here) to center the first page as well. You'll notice when you click on the main menu items, the script will center the elements on the page, just not at the start.

I found a script that puts a JavaScript countdown timer on a web page. The timer uses a PHP session so the timer does not reset until it reaches zero even if the user refreshes the page or leaves and comes back. When the timer reaches zero, the user is redirected to a different page.
The problem I have is when the user goes back to the timer page, after the redirect, the timer is still at zero and the user is immediately redirected again.
The timer does not restart until the user accesses the page for a second time.
If the redirect function is removed and you let the countdown go to zero, the page has to be refreshed twice to restart the countdown. I don't know if this is a PHP or JavaScript issue.
Can this be fixed so the countdown resets as soon as the user revisits the page after the redirect?
PHP Code:
<?php
session_start();
if (!isset($_SESSION['endOfTimer'])){
$endOfTimer = time() + 10;
[Code]....
I've got the following working timer code...
All works great. At the moment I have to press the button to start the timer, but I want the timer to start automatically on page load (and keep the stop/start button to work of course, so the button has to show Stop instead of Start on page load).
I want my countup timer to start from when the page is loaded so eg 0 in all fields... This is what i have so far:
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
<meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
<title>Count?</title>

From my experience with HTML5 video so far (which isn't much), Firefox seems to switching to the "HAVE_ENOUGH_DATA" state too soon which is causing very choppy playback while the video is buffering. Is there a way to start the loading of video as soon as the page loads instead of waiting for the user to press play? I don't mean "autoplay", I want the video to start buffering as soon as the page loads without it playing.

Can this be done using javascript or just html meta tags?
Also we control the contents of what is printed from a web page without having to redirect the page? Example, I have three paragraphs on a web page and I don't want the middle paragraph to be printed.
It launches in IE and give the user instructions, then at the click of a button, launches my setup.exe. I want my webpage to launch setup.exe then go to another webpage on my CD, congratulations.html, which says "installation is complete etc". Here's what I am trying to do through JAvascript. It doesn't work. Should the first instruction be flushed in order for the 2nd one to work?

I tried using "iframes" and am facing cross domain issues.
All that I want to do is, set and get the attributes of the elements of the webpage from the other domain (eg: set text field value, get dropdown box values, click button etc)
Is there a way to get this job done?
I thought of browser addons however it will be a browser specific solution.
