when i run it, i have to wait the 9000 timer to c the first image, and i need the page to start with an image and then start the rotation, i have assigned background-image by css, and tried also to use document.body.background, but when i do this the rotator doesnt work.
I have been able to piece together some code for a stopwatch. I have everything the way I want it in regards to the function and look of the stopwatch, but I want to be able to set timers so that the ss() function in the code below will go and stop automatically at intervals I can set.

I'm new to java script and am desperately trying to understand it all. My first question is, I'm trying to create a "rotator" for my companies home page, much like the one on [URL]. And by rotators, I am referring the the deal that right underneath the nav bar that is rotating pics, etc. I found one I like at a different site as well, so I talked to the web developer and he graciously supplied me with the java script code for it. The code is fine, but when I place it in a document, it has the pics and text underneath each other instead if rotating the pics.

I placed a table that was wider than the modal's default settings and it's off the page and does not create scroll bars on the page to see the hidden section of the modal.

when I was trying to create the code which is posted below. it is a table of banner ads that will rotate on my website and the appropriate link follows the appropraite ad when they rotate. everything is working fine except that when you click on one of the ads ( which is a link), the link works but the page displays an error at the bottom as soon as any link is clicked.

You'll notice when you click on the main menu items, the script will center the elements on the page, just not at the start.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI found a script that puts a JavaScript countdown timer on a web page. The timer uses a PHP session so the timer does not reset until it reaches zero even if the user refreshes the page or leaves and comes back. When the timer reaches zero, the user is redirected to a different page.
The problem I have is when the user goes back to the timer page, after the redirect, the timer is still at zero and the user is immediately redirected again.
The timer does not restart until the user accesses the page for a second time.
If the redirect function is removed and you let the countdown go to zero, the page has to be refreshed twice to restart the countdown. I don't know if this is a PHP or JavaScript issue.
Can this be fixed so the countdown resets as soon as the user revisits the page after the redirect?

All works great. At the moment I have to press the button to start the timer, but I want the timer to start automatically on page load (and keep the stop/start button to work of course, so the button has to show Stop instead of Start on page load).
I want my countup timer to start from when the page is loaded so eg 0 in all fields... This is what i have so far:

From my experience with HTML5 video so far (which isn't much), Firefox seems to switching to the "HAVE_ENOUGH_DATA" state too soon which is causing very choppy playback while the video is buffering. Is there a way to start the loading of video as soon as the page loads instead of waiting for the user to press play? I don't mean "autoplay", I want the video to start buffering as soon as the page loads without it playing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm quite new at Javascript and I'm trying to create a script that will save me a lot of time when creating my website. I'm gonna try to explain what I'm looking for by taking a simple example. I have a page 'Portfolio'. On this page I have thumbnails of my work. 'OnMouseOver' will have the bigger version of the image appear on the screen (no need for a click). The images are named 1001, 1002, 1003, etc. The thumbs are named 1001_th, 1002_th, etc.
When I click on one of the thumbnails, I want the page "Details" to open, on which only the picture and the description is different for every project. The rest of the content will be the same every time. What I am trying to do is avoid having to create a page "Details" for each one of my projects (up to 100 and growing).I figure there must be a simple solution to 'take' the number of the picture and put it in a standard "Details" page.

I currently have it setup to where it uses a javascript refresh every 60 seconds, but would like to setup AJAX to have it so it doesnt actually refresh the page. I am trying to make our buy page reload after clicking the Paypal "continue shopping" button in Paypal Website Standards. The pop up Paypal shopping cart window closes after clicking the button but our buy page doesn't reload. It doesn't reload in Safari although it seems to be fine in FF and IE. how to make the page reload in this specific instance only.
I'm attaching my php test file but this is a JS problem. When I scroll down in the web page and the meta refresh hits, in Windows Safari and IE6/7/8 browsers, the web page re-positions back to the top. In Opera and FF the page refreshes but it stays where it is. Can someone look at my test script and see why it is not working in IE and Win Safari? My goal is to have the web page not re-position to the top on the auto refresh.

Everytime you log into their website, you get a new image. if you roll the mouse over the menu on the left of the picture, you get different rollover text on the picture.
What I have so far is image rotator, which will randomly load differnt photo everytime you access the website. However, I don't how to do the complete thing.
I have a space on my page reserved for a banner to denote religious / special events and other notices that may be important for that specific day. At the moment the relevant banner is uploaded the night before ready for the next day.
A bit of research has led me to develop an automated Javascript script that loads up the relevant days banner using the getDate() and getDay() functions. This, however, means I have to name the banner for January 1st as 1.jpg in a folder named Ƈ'.
What I am wondering is whether it's possible to draw up a spreadsheet (or text file) so that I can type in a more memorable filename (e.g. 'christmasDay.jpg') and it locates it in the folder and displays it on that relevant day. Is it possible for Javascript to do this sort of thing?
Another thing I've thought of (as an advanced bit, don't want to run before walking!) is perhaps to have a random banner from a selection shown if there isn't a religious date / special event on a specific day.
Is there a code to auto refresh the page if 503 apache error message appear ?
