This is my jquery script to sort elements on a page. How do i reverse the order from last to first?
[Code]...
The code sortes/reverses the rows of a table with data upon the correspondent chosen column.
Uses DOM methods
Tested in IE6, NS7, Firefox, Moz 1.7, Opera 7.5 on XP

When the user select an option in a dropdownlist, new dropdownlist elements are added dynamically using jquery. When a user clicks on a new option i the first dropdown, I want all the dynamically added events to be removed so that I can render new ones. But it seems the dynamically added events haven't been added to the DOM, so they cannot be removed. Is it possible to remove them? In that case, how? I've read a lot about .Live(), but my problem is not regarding an event - I just need to reach an element(?).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a huge form working fine, I have many hidden fields inside some DIVs, and as the user marks aCheck-box, the DIVsappearshowing the fields accordingly, but there are two DIVs with more than a hundred inputs(text), the problem is that when those fields are enabled the validation freezes the browser. I'm using jQuery1.4.2 and the latest Validate.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOK so Ive been using jquery for a little bit now and love it. I am a ColdFusion developer. I have a need where I would like to present the user with a list of categories and the user can drag and drop to sort, but then I need to post this new sort order to the database. So I see there are a ton of cool drag & drop plugins for jquery. I understand how they work and I can get it to work as far as spitting out DIVS or spitting out ULs that can be sorted, but then what? So now they are sorted on my screen and not really part of the form. How do I translate that into something I can do a post to the database with? Do I do an AJAX call every time they drop an item and try to extrapolate the sort order on that item after they drop it? Do I populate a hidden form field with the constantly updating sort order list? MAybe a list of ID's? How does everyone else go about this this task? I'm sure there is more than one way and I'm sure this is a common task.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just found out that for IE6 (standard mode and quirks mode), for DOM Level 2 events (haven't tested for DOM Level 1), the event object is available just like in Firefox, that is as the first argument in the event handler function. I named the first argument eent (vokuntarily misspelled eent instead of event) so as to assure myself that IE6 didn't take the variable named event as window event.
CCl: For IE6 and on, no more need to have this ****** code (I hate it):
function eventHandler(event)
{
if (typeof event == "undefined")
{
event = window.event;
}
...
}
Unfortunately, I couldn't find any way to traverse the object array in
reverse order. I'd thought there must be a way to do it with for..in
loop, but couldn't find anything yet.
I need a function like reverseChars(str_arg) this will return a string containing the characters of the string str_arg in reverse order. For example, if reverseChars("javascript") is called, the return value will be "tpircsavaj".

I have attached 2 screen shots. 1.jpg is what I get at the moment and 2.jpg is what I want to get.
As you see when somebody sends message and the messages exceed pages size, the scroll bars appear, I need the scroll bar to be the oposite direction (down to top) like yahoo or msn or any other chat room.
I would like to create reverse dropdown boxes (that is, dropdown boxes that "drop" the other way around--perhaps "drop-up" boxes could be the closest term I could associate with such elements) for the menu of my personal site; I've seen such menus before, however at the same time I have also neglected to take note of what JavaScripts were used.

I'm coding in HTML5 and getting back the geo coordinates with no problems; I set them as cookies for future reference, then pass them to a reverse geolocation server using $.getJSON in jQuery 1.5.1. I already have a working bmi calculator for my website where visitor will enter height and current weight to calculate their current bmi. Then I want to have a reverse bmi calculator to grab the same height and weight from said bmi calculator to give a calculation with a fillable goal bmi (example: 18-24 "healthy bmi") to read out a goal weight for them to achieve. I have already figured out the first part of the bmi calculation now I just need the second calculation to grab the height and weight from original bmi calculator without needing to be filled in again and compute result in a second table. I will post code that I have come up with so far for the whole page.

I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?

I have an array of objects. My object definition is given below:
function tempArray(code,height,weight)
{
this.code = code;
this.height = height;
this.weight = weight;
}
I used the following function to sort.
function sortBy(prop,arr) {
sortProp=prop;
arr=arr.sort(sortFunc);
}
function sortFunc(part1,part2) {
if (part1[sortProp]>part2[sortProp]) retVal=-1;
else if (part1[sortProp]<part2[sortProp]) retVal=1;
else retVal=0;
return retVal;
}
This however allows me to sort only by one criteria. I need to sort by
weight first and then by height for those items that have the same
weight.
