JQuery :: IE - When Connect Through Reverse Proxy To Blog Theme Does Not Load The Ie7.css
Jan 28, 2010
I have set up a reverse proxy for a wordpress blog that is using the theme mystique. When I use IE to connect directly to the blog the theme works fine and loads ie7.css When I connect through the reverse proxy to the blog the theme does not load the ie7.css
From what I can work out it looks like the person who wrote it is using jquery to determine the browser type. Any ideas why jquery would fail when passed through a reverse proxy?
I have an issue. I need to access MapQuest JavaScript API and develop maps. I am able to do that on my personal laptop. I want to develop the same on my work laptop and with in my company environment(network). I have
1. We have a firewall which doesn't allow me to access the Mapquest Javascript API.
2. I was give a proxy server name and port number through which I can access the mapquest javascript api.
I need to use this proxy server with in the code that is what the systems team say. I don't know how achieve this using JavaScript. I can't use any other language except Javascript or HTML.
I've been trying to figure out how to detect if a visitor is using a proxy. If seen php code similar to this again and again (just ignore the code since it doesn't work for anonymous proxy)
But as I mentioned this never works for anonymous proxies.However,every anonymous proxy I've tried puts THEIR domain somewhere in the url.Why can't we just detect anonymous proxy with Javascript by just getting
document.location.href
and making sure that the url is what it's supposed to be.This seems way too easy to be reliable.
at least going to be a double post from in the jQuery Plugin list. I'm being moderated yet on that list, and it doesn't seem to get much activity.I'm going to post this here since the Tablesorter developer hasn't gotten back to me yet.I took a copy of the latest version in SVN and modified it to have jQuery UI Theme support. It seems to work very well and anyone is welcome to use it.[code]I was hoping this would be included into tablesorter so I just threw up the modified version on my work site for now.
I have a problem with jquery not working in JSP. I have downloaded a theme in jquery but it does not seem to work. And I do not know what is the problem why it does not seem to work. I am very new to jquery and JEE. I am actually rushing this project as the deadline is very near.
this is my jsp code: (the markup is from the demo of the theme I downloaded in jquery theme roller since I meant to see how it would look first before implementing) code...
Sorry if this isn't exactly the right NG for this, but I thought you guys would know better than anyone else.
I have 2 computers networked. The internet connection is dial-up, and I'm using ezProxy to share the connection. Both computers are Win98,and both have IE6.0.
The main PC works perfectly, but the second PC's browser doesn't recognize Javascript at all! I've gone through every setting imaginable, and haven't found any reference to Javascript that was incorrect.
my working project (needs a proxy): [URL]...currently working through this tutorial, I have setup a proxy and saved it as proxy.php[URL].. I just need to put this piece of code in my JavaScript but not sure where?!
I'm using Keith Wood's datepicker jQuery plugin v.4.0.2 (not the jQuery UI datepicker) with jQuery 1.4.2, and I want to use the jQuery UI Cupertino theme v.1.8.2.
I reproduced the example on this page [URL]... under the Layout/Style tab. The inline example worked, but the popup example failed.
I tried many permutations and combinations of loading .js and .css files, none of which worked. Would someone please point out the error of my ways? Code snippet and screenshots below.
I have my own items on a page, some based on css styles, which I would like to be compatible with the selected theme. What I would like to know is how to obtain the theme's base background color, text color, and their respective hover colors. I am aware that I could use things like ui-state-default ui-state-hover in the class but other non-color attributes like font bolding ect affect my elements. As a simple example I have a css <ul> <li> based menu which may show the default color but I am unable to deploy the hover color. I would have thought the simplest and most direct way would have been color only classes.
I want to use UI theme colors on other elements of my pages and for them to switch automatically when UI theme is changed. I was going through css files generated by theme-rollerand didn't find any classes just for defining colors or borders used in a theme.For starters I wanted my form fields to have borders similar to UI theme. I used "ui-widget-content" and it worked fairly well, but I was wondering if there is a better way to do this.
I've been trying to generate a custom theme using the ThemRoller and when I click "Download theme" I get error message "Absolute File does not exist: /srv/jqueryui.com/ ..
Tried with both custom and the Theme Gallery themes but getting same problem..
Is there a known issue or am I the only one having problems?
I have tried downloading fromhttp:[URL]..Theme (wanted UI darkness) but the download when attempting to extract with winrar or 7-zip just comes up with errors. So I tried all the available themes and all display the same error: "The Compressed (zipped) Folder is invalid." using Windows Vista - Extract. "The archive is either in unknown format or damaged - Winrar." "Can not open file - 7-zip
how or where else I can maybe download the 'UI darkness' theme form as my new osCommerce 2.3.1 only as the theme 'redmond' pre-installed ?
An experiment i'm doing requires requires a synchronous cross-domain request, without using a proxy. I wondered if anyone had any ideas to help me achieve this.
Below is what I have tried, including my conclusions/assumptions (which i'll happily be corrected on if it solves my problem!):
The requirement not to use a proxy means I can't use the synchronous mode of XMLHttpRequest, as it will not let me go cross-domain.
On-demand loading of javascript enables me to achieve the cross-domain request by loading javascript of the form:
callback(data);
which on loading calls callback(), but it is not obvious how to make this synchronous. I've also managed to get the same effect using a hidden IFRAME, but again it relies on a callback. Is there a good way to wrap/transform this in to a synchronous request? Code:
I tried inserting the lavalamp effect into my wordpress theme.However, I was unsuccessful.I was wondering if anyone could help me out a bit and tell me where I went wrong? It isn't working and i'm not sure what I need to do in order to make it work?I have tried putting .lavaLamp after my #nav tag. That didn't work so I put it after my #header tag (which is where the css changes, etc. were anyway).Then, I uploaded an external css file for the .lavaLamp class.Still no dice.I refuse to move on in my theme creation until I have this figured out.
I am trying to put together a Adobe Air Application that is basically a RSS feeder for my blog (custom made). I have the Air application all design and coded on the front end in terms of how it looks. My problem now is that I dont know how to get that XML document to my Air application using jQuery. Im still a beginner at jQuery (and JS in general).
On my website I have a lot of entries which are similar to blog-entries. Every single entry has about 500 signs and if there are more than there is supposed to be a button "read further"(atm there is no button but later it will be). If the user click this button, the remaining text of the entry is supposed to slide down. My problem is now that I don't know how to slide down just one article. Every article looks like this:
But how to slide down only the "slide_text" which belongs to the clicked article. If I use: $('article').click(function() { $('.slide_text').slideToggle(200); }); Every singe "slide_text" of all the entries appears. But this is not, what I want. Is there a way to toggle just the child-slide_text of one entry? Or do I have to give every entry an id to define which entry is supposed to toggle?
I am hoping to use a 3rd party script for a simple JQuery photo slider for my WP blog. But the script creator says: "If you are trying to 'include' this into a blog template then you will need to have a good knowledge of the template structure and how it is pulling the information from the database. The files that I supply are intended for use in a normal xhtml page where you would just add the javascript calls and stylesheet links to the page head, then embed the xhtml into the web page or use a simple php 'include' to add this at run time." He couldn't help further. The blog theme I purchase comes with a photo slider but I wasn't happy with it 100%. I took the code from the new one and put it in as best as I could where the original one was formatted. I am not a programmer though and I know that clearly I did not do it right, as I used "a" ids like you would in HTML and I know they don't belong in PHP. However, it magically is working somewhat! All the graphics are showing, it's pulling images, and they are sliding. I just need to clean it up a bit. Here is a page where it is on:
I know the title is not so good, it's hard to explain the simply thing I'd like to do.In fact, I'm looking for a reverse e.preventDefault() method, something like that :
$(document).keydown(function (e){ if ( e.keyCode == 9) {
I am trying to display a hidden bookmarks list when the bookmarks category heading is clicked on. I have gotten as far as writing the script below so that once the heading is clicked, the list drops down and the list items fade in..
how to I make the list items fade out prior to the list collapsing again?
Here is what i have conjured up so far:
var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); //online bookmarks $j(document).ready(function() { $j('#online-links').click(function() {
I'm slowly learning jQuery and starting to have some fun with it. I've set up an animation where if you click a certain anchor the animation plays. However, being new at this, I cannot figure out how to play the animation in reverse if the same anchor is clicked a second time.Here is an example of my sloppy script:
I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?
