this script bind both keypress and change of the text box to functions b and a. at keypress event handler if user type a char on input box the value of input box change to x and the user char discarded. In this case we expected to run the onchange (change) event because the textbox value is changed BUT this doesn't happen.
I have this function which prevent the default envent of a link. So far is ok. Then the function execute some tasks and then I need TO CONTINUE with the event with something like event.continueDefault(); Can I do this?
Something like:

event.continueDefault() // LET THE EVENT CONTINUE. Of course, this line doesn't work.

I noticed when I click one of these links, there is an ever so slight lag on all browsers. Maybe less than half a second, but it'snoticeable.

I am checking if a form on a jQuery tab is changed, and if it has, the user should get a popup warning when they navigate away from the tab with the form or click any other link on the page for that matter. So I setup this code:

I'm slowly learning jQuery and starting to have some fun with it. I've set up an animation where if you click a certain anchor the animation plays. if I take out the if clause, forcing the preventDefault to get called even
for IE6 it causes a JS error (just in IE6).
I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?

I have set up a reverse proxy for a wordpress blog that is using the theme mystique. When I use IE to connect directly to the blog the theme works fine and loads ie7.css When I connect through the reverse proxy to the blog the theme does not load the ie7.css
From what I can work out it looks like the person who wrote it is using jquery to determine the browser type. Any ideas why jquery would fail when passed through a reverse proxy?

sniffing. In Safari 1.3 (and earlier?) the following example follows
the link when it should not. Does anyone know of any solutions without

Has anybody used <button type="submit" name="dil" value="bert">dilbert</button> and attempted to add submit validation through the submit handler and preventDefault() only to find out the element value is missing? I'm currently experiencing this problem and it's a real headache.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just found out that for IE6 (standard mode and quirks mode), for DOM Level 2 events (haven't tested for DOM Level 1), the event object is available just like in Firefox, that is as the first argument in the event handler function. I named the first argument eent (vokuntarily misspelled eent instead of event) so as to assure myself that IE6 didn't take the variable named event as window event.
CCl: For IE6 and on, no more need to have this ****** code (I hate it):

reverse order. I'd thought there must be a way to do it with for..in
loop, but couldn't find anything yet.
I need a function like reverseChars(str_arg) � this will return a string containing the characters of the string str_arg in reverse order. For example, if reverseChars("javascript") is called, the return value will be "tpircsavaj".
