I am looking for a snippet to use touch gestures in jquerymobile. The following snippets works fine but the page only slides to the left. How to swipe the page to left and right? (data-direction=reverse"?
<script type="text/javascript">
$('div.ui-page').live("swipeleft", function(){
var nextpage = $(this).next('div[data-role="page"]');
// swipe using id of next page if exists
if (nextpage.length > 0) {
$.mobile.changePage(nextpage, 'slide');
}});
$('div.ui-page').live("swiperight", function(){
var prevpage = $(this).prev('div[data-role="page"]');
// swipe using id of next page if exists
if (prevpage.length > 0) {
$.mobile.changePage(prevpage, 'slide', true);
}});
</script>
Do you know of any best practice here?Expanding on the question, if an end user is viewing content with touch-based device, such as an iX or Android X, then hover type events (such as hover/hoverIntent, mouseover, mouseout, mouseenter, mouseleave, and perhaps other events that I haven't listed) don't make sense.Forthwith, what's the best usability practice in lieu of these events?
I've done a fair amount of PHP development, but am new to Jquery. What I'd like to do is develop a tablet web app that uses custom image buttons for numeric-only data entry to populate form text boxes. Basically, when an image button (0 - 9) is tapped by the user, then the text box having the focus gets that corresponding digit added. There will also be a "back" button to erase, and a "send" button to process the form. It looks like this should be possible to do using Jquery or Jquery UI, but again I'm a newbie with Jquery and am not sure how to proceed.
I would like to know whether anyone can tell me which plattforms are supported by jQ Touch. On the homepage of jQ Touch it is said, that is "for mobile web development on the iPhone, Android, iPod Touch, and other forward-thinking devices" SO what is meant by that. Which other browsers are supported?
Check out the official blog post on the 1.4.3 release:[URL]..I am thoroughly confused by this sentence (under "Events"): "jQuery has already had setData and getData events (which are broadcast whenever data is set or gotten through the .data() method) overriding these methods makes it possible to override the default behavior for those features (namely you can return a different value or prevent a value from being set."
1. had setData and getData events overriding these methods" -- which methods? 2. "makes it possible to override the default behavior" I have looked into the source and I cannot think of any way to either "return a different value" or "prevent a value from being set."
Is there a way to use jquery to detect any device with a touch screen?
Im using the jscrollpane but the handles drag in the wrong direction on touch screens like the ipad (in my opinion). As you can drag the main content (which works in the correct way), I want to hide the scroll bars if the device is a touch screen.
I just want to know,is it possible to load a div but the content loaded is based on what event triggered?
For example,when I mouseover a <tr>,it loads details of product inside a <div>.But when I click a 'View Image' link (which is placed inside the same <tr>),it will load the image inside the same <div>.
I was thinking to use if..else statement.But I don't know how to do it.
i have a couple of div's placed next to each other.When a user hovers his mouse on one of the div's the div will expand to a 100x100 size and when the mouse is then taken off the div will be 50x50 again.
Now i have the problem that i want these div's to expand from the bottom up so everything will kinda stick to the bottom (or right side, i didn't get that to work either).
It seems to me that setting the position for these guys to absolute is no option because then they will overlap.
I have a div, and a container div. This div is my footer. I want to beable to slide items up out of the footer. However, when I use the toggle() and use marginTop/marginBottom it slides perfectly, but only expands the div downwards thus causing scrollbars to appear. Is it possible to define which way you would like a div to expand?
So just to be clear here is my code:<style> #footer-container{ overflow:hidden; z-index:100; position:relative; border:1px solid #f00; width:1000px; margin:auto; }#footer{ width:1000px; margin:auto; height:32px !important; background: url('../../img/footer/footer_bg.png') repeat-x; font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif; font-size:10px; color:#555; margin-bottom:0; bottom:0; padding:0; } <div id="footer-container"> <div id="footer"> some contend links etc.. </div></div>
As you can see from above there is an overflow of hidden set to the container div. The footer div has a height of 32px and bg image. The only way I can get this to work is if I put a postion:fixed on the #footer. This is not what I want, because it then remains on top/in position when scrolling the page. Is it possible to set a div's expansion direction in jQuery? The above expands the div downwards. I would like to expand it upwards.
Currently, my custom select drop down slides in from the top/left. How can I make it slide in from the bottom/right?
Here is the code... The toggle sections are bolded.
$.fn.SelectCustomizer = function(){ // Select Customizer jQuery plug-in // based on customselect by Ace Web Design http://www.adelaidewebdesigns.com/2008/ ¦ ith-icons/ // modified by David Vian http://www.ildavid.com/dblog return this.each(function(){
I'm currently using this script : [URL]. But I want to make a button to change marquee direction. Visitor can click or hover on the button, then marquee will change direction (right to left or left to right). I don't know how to do?
i used the plugin superfish and all things are fine. BUT, the submenu flaps to the right side. there is a problem with multilevel menues. my menu floats right to the hole webpage. so the submenu flaps over the webpage-border. how can i change this? i want the submenu to flap to the left side.
I am trying to "ajaxify" my site. Now I have one problem:
$("#posts").children().remove(); $("#tag-sidebar").children().remove(); $.each(data.Tags_Sidebar, function (indexInArray, valueOfElement) { var insert = $("<li>");
[Code]......
Now when I click one of those links (href1, href2, href3) generated, the click event won't execute! What's the problem? Also, is it right that I have to transfer the valueOfElement over, like I did? What does stopEventPropagation do? Prevent the href from being navigated to? That's what I am trying to do.
I know the title is not so good, it's hard to explain the simply thing I'd like to do.In fact, I'm looking for a reverse e.preventDefault() method, something like that :
$(document).keydown(function (e){ if ( e.keyCode == 9) {
I am trying to display a hidden bookmarks list when the bookmarks category heading is clicked on. I have gotten as far as writing the script below so that once the heading is clicked, the list drops down and the list items fade in..
how to I make the list items fade out prior to the list collapsing again?
Here is what i have conjured up so far:
var $j = jQuery.noConflict(); //online bookmarks $j(document).ready(function() { $j('#online-links').click(function() {
I'm slowly learning jQuery and starting to have some fun with it. I've set up an animation where if you click a certain anchor the animation plays. However, being new at this, I cannot figure out how to play the animation in reverse if the same anchor is clicked a second time.Here is an example of my sloppy script:
I've successfully managed to implement the JQuery Cycle Plugin with the Shuffle Effect (works in all the latest version browsers) but I can't figure out how to change the direction of the effect. By default the images slide out to the left then back in again to the right (where they disappear beneath the next image). I'd like to change the direction to either. Out to the right, then back in to the left or a vertical variant. I've tried playing around with the animOut and animIn parameters but they seem to have a null effect.
i'm using the 1.7.2/Slider and i'm quite pleased with it. The only thing that bothers me is how to change the direction of the slider when in vertical orientation. The default values are: min at bottom, max at top, but I want to reverse that, so the slider always starts from top to bottom. I tryed different things like modifying the code in ui.slider.js, but it didn't seem to work.
I'm trying to do this email obfuscation thing where I reverse the email direction with php and then on the page flip it right way with css.
Looks great and works great, expect when I copy the email, it's of course backwards.
Would you have any ideas how to use jQuery (or just plain js) to flip it right way when it is copied? Or would it make the whole obfuscation thing useless?
I'm looking for the best cross browser compatible swipe script for android, iphone and other touch phones. Has anyone used any of the available frameworks or have you used custom scripts? [code]...
I have set up a reverse proxy for a wordpress blog that is using the theme mystique. When I use IE to connect directly to the blog the theme works fine and loads ie7.css When I connect through the reverse proxy to the blog the theme does not load the ie7.css
From what I can work out it looks like the person who wrote it is using jquery to determine the browser type. Any ideas why jquery would fail when passed through a reverse proxy?
How can I animate this car: driving from left to right of the screen? I imagine it starting on the outside of the wrapper border so top left 0 and ends top right 960px... When it hits top right corner can it then flip 180 degrees and drive back in the other direction? Also how can I do it in jquery for the browsers that don't support the CSS3? I was also wondering if you click on the car could some flames shoot out the exhaust which makes it drive faster??
