Now i just want to edit one thing, when you search for something, results are shown under the search field, when you click on each result, goes to a link.

I am trying to get a simple set of Javascript tabs to work properly. I have just two tabs and I want to set up the script to have the second tab automatically hidden prior to reading the javascript code because right now it shows the contents of both tabs when the page is loading and then the second tab disappears after all the script has loaded.
I have the jquery script linked to on the page and here is the way my script looks to run the tabs:
Code:
I want to add something like style="visibility:hidden;" to the DIV that isn't shown on page load and have it added and removed as necessary when users click on the tabs. So basically I would like the generated code to look like this:
I have a working code which allows the user to select one or multiple options from a drop down. Text appears alongside depending on their selection. I need to find a way for another area or text box to be populated depending on the original option(s) selected.
Example: At the moment if the user selects Orange as their favourite colour and submits it will display the text Oranges are Orange alongside. This is displayed within a <div>. I want it to also display another piece of text, for example Oranges are a good source of vitamin C in a seperate <div> and then another <div> showing You should eat at least one orange a day.
This must also work with multiple options. I am sure there is a way to use hidden values etc but I am stuck!code...
I have created a similar smart search like yellowpages:[URL]... Here is the problem I have with mine:
Lets say I search 'Attorneys' I start typing 'Att' ... then 'Attorneys' shows up in the smart search so I click on it and press enter. The next time I start typing 'Att' my browsers saved search field pops up over the websites smart search. Here is an image which might help explain the problem a bit more:
I hope whether such a script exists for what am wanting to do. From time to time, I need to send password information or login details and password information to some users. At the moment, am doing it via email with a subject named FYI and the body of the email basically just contain the login and the password or in some case, just the password. What am wanting to know is whether I can put these information into a HTML file which contains an obfuscated Javascript with a button that a user will click that will prompt for his login information and then will display the password. In its simplest form, I guess I am looking for a Javascript that will obfuscate a HTML file that contains the password. I found some website that offers such service as obfuscating a HTML file but am hoping it can be done via a Javascript so it is at least "portable" and I do not have to be online.
Since its not multiple its not going to show all the 3 options selected, so I created a little button with the easy statement in JQuery it is working, it makes the Select Multiple, it expands the Select and make the items selectable, but on the other hand it does not show the already selected options.
I want to change this code so that I can have multiple word variables I can change, possibly separated by comas I guess?.. Open to other idea's as well. Do you also know how I can make it so that it's NOT case sensitive? Code:
I wrote a JS for a calculator and would like to prevent visitors from seeing or copy/pasting it. I have seen others that seemingly have done this, because View Source reveals only a <href:=[website]> and no code. Is this what is meant by Client-side/Server-side? If so, please advise how to do, or suggest where I might go to discover. (I use DW MX).
I'm looking for a script or applet that will allow users to search by zipcode or selected category for results. I would like something already built so I can just customize it to our needs. I'm sure it will need to have a database setup for it to work which I am fine with doing. I can modify scripts and files but I have no idea where to start with this from scratch.
We also use the same data for our "Layar" app for the iphone and driod phones. Has anyone messed with layar scripting and databases? We are using hoopala now which makes data entry simple but we cannot modify their database to add category options. It would be nice to find an alternative to hoopala so we could use one database for both the layar app and the zipcode/category search on our site.
I have a page built in Sharepoint. I need to create a little search box within that page so people can search for names on that same page. It's a page with a lot of text, hence why the search feature is needed.
Currently I'm trying to modify OOTB code for a search box.
I'm not sure if this is best addressed within the JavaScript or CSS.
After a search term has been typed in, the users picks a match which opens in a new window, then they close the new window, and try to back space over the typed term, there is a white bar that remains below the text entry box.
For example, if the word bathroom is typed in the text box, a list of possible matching topics is displayed. You pick the option to Where is the bathroom?. This opens a new window/tab - just close the tab. The original search box still displays the term bathroom, but if you backspace to remove the term, then a white bar remains below the text entry box.
How do I get rid of the white bar when the text entry box is empty?
The code being used is shown below - attachment shows the problem as it appears in IE and FF:
I am trying to create a javascript code in which I prompt the user for a number (an integer from 0 to 100) to search for, then search a function with the number they entered and then display whether the number was found, and if found, a location where it can be found within the list.
I have two js scripts running on my project at the moment, one is uses mootools and the other uses jquery-1.2.3min, both work but not if they are on the same page.The mootool adds the pop out effect to a form box and the jquery enables the nav switch for 2 boxes that contain different form fields for a search engine. Now I've been reading up on the two and have decided to favour jquery which means I have to reproduce the same effect in mootool but with my limited knowledge it's proven rather hard.The mootool code:
var isExtended = 0; var height = 165; var width = 240;
I am helping someone out with a form. He wants the name required, easy enough, but then only an email or street address required. I have tried a couple of things and it is not working.
I am trying a very simple code: <script type="text/javascript"> <!--
function validate_form ( ) { valid = true;
if ( document.contact_form.name_mailing.value == "" ) { alert ( "Please fill in the 'Your Name' box." ); valid = false; }
if ( document.contact_form.address_mailing.value == "" || document.contact_form.email_address.value == "") { alert ( "Please fill in the 'Your Information' box." ); valid = false; }
return valid; }
//--> </script>
Am I not using the or operator correctly? I only want to have the address or email required, not necessarily both.
I'm looking for a quick example of how to make a "word" have an onclick event that sets the value of a hidden radio button to true.
I've search for inline examples but couldn't find one online.
This is the code I have but it is not working. You should see I was trying to make the + and - signs trigger setting a radio button to true, which then triggers a sql search. code...
I google'd myself silly, I can't find tutorials for this. I hope someone could lend me a hand.
I'll try to make this simple. I have a PHP & MySQL driven site. I have a form for adding new content.
The form has a set of check box options that are pulled from MySQL.
At the bottom of the check boxes there is an "Add New" input field which I want to be used to add new check box options right above it.
database
So as I understand how this should work, when I click in the 'add new' text field, type something in, then press enter - the value of the add new field should be sent to a php script, addnew_backend.php. The form itself should not submit it's data. The PHP script will add the new value to the mysql table of options, and if successful, returns the newley generated checkbox which should fade in right above the add new text field into div#newoptions.
I have a search field on the website, and when I type a word to search, it search good, but after preforming the search, the search term from search text field disappears and become the default 'Search' word.
How can I make search term stay in search field after preforming a search ? For example, when I type into the search field 'JavaScript' I want that term to stay in search field and after the search is done.
Does "document.formName.elementName.disable" work on hidden form text elements? I have a form with some input fields that are associated with some hidden text fields and I would like to disable all of the categories inside the form when the page loads and only enable each category as it is needed. Code:
