Removes Default Drag Behaviour On Image In Netscape
Jul 23, 2005
I am trying to implement a rubber band/image selection script. For
that I need to remove the default drag behaviour on an image. I am
able to do this in IE but not Netscape. Does any one have a solution?
Pls look below for IE code:
var moz = ((document.all)? false : true);
var ie = ((document.all)? true : false);
var ElementUtil = new Object();
ElementUtil.addEventListener = function(o, type, handler) {
if(ie) {
o.attachEvent("on" + type, handler);
}
else if(moz) {
o.addEventListener(type, handler, false);
}
}
// Removes default drag behaviour on image in ie
ElementUtil.addEventListener(img, "drag", function() {return false;});
I've been using prettySociable on my site (can be downloaded here. I use the uncompressed version). I want to be able to change the tooltip (that shows up when you drag an image) to default to an image on my server, rather than to the page title. I think I've tracked down the code on line 265 of the jquery.prettySociable.js file, but I'm unsure how to change it:
i have placed some image indide a i frame which i created dynamically .when i do mouse wheel above it it goes up nad dow i want to stop and happened only in firefox.
Is there a way to override the default behaviour for single selects which makes it impossible to unselect a selected item?
What i need is: when someone clicks on an option, if it isn't selected is should be selected, but if it's already selected then it should be unselected.
Right, here goes: I'm using a modified "jQuery Cycle Plugin - 'goto' Demo 2 (aka: Poor Man's pager)" implementation of the Cycle plugin, this works fine in FF2+, Op9, Saf3+ and Chrome2 but in IE cycle stops the background- image from repeating! As usual I cannot give out a public link due to NDA but I can give you these two image locations to see the differences: [URL]
Here's what I usually use and have been using for years and it works great, just not for this particular purpose. I don't have a clue when it comes to javascript.
<noscript><img src="no_script_quote.gif" width="406" height="94"/></noscript><script language="javascript"> var delay=6000 var curindex=0
[code]....
But, now I want to be able to set a default picture to be shown first and have the random pics appear next. I also don't want the default pic to show up again in the random array. So basically, every time the page was first visited, or refreshed it would show the default picture then move into the random pics.
I have an application that draws a selection rectangle over a map image. I can get it to work fine in IE and Opera, but not Firefox/Netscape.
I've thrown the following small example together to illustrate the problem - the problem being that FF/NE initially draw my rectangle before the icon changes immediately to the black no-entry icon. Then, when I let go of the mouse, the rectangle continues drawing, but it doesn't stop as the mouseup has already fired of course.
IE was doing the same, but I found the ondragstart/cancelDragDrop solution to that. I can't find what appears to be a similar solution for FF/NE.....
I am trying to create a webpage. It has 3 frames (left, middle and right). I want to be able to drag images from the left and the right frame into the middle frame. Each time i try to drag an image from one frame to another , the image just disappears.
I am trying to make a javascript utility where the user can resize and drag an image. A slider contols the size of image from 0% to 200%. And also the image is draggable and the x and y coordinates of the image are immediately reflected on a text box in the page.
I think that this is possible with jquery or other javascript libraries. But was looking for some direction where I can find the best tutorial or examples.
I am in need to drag and drop a image from a div to the form. But the original image should not be moved. It should remain in the same place. Only the clone of the image should be moved outside the div.
I am playing with an idea I found, here is a demo, And while I like it's function, I would like to make a couple mods. 1) How do I remove an item from the built/filled image list
Bit of a lengthy topic name, I know - I'm trying to make a sort of really lightweight online t-shirt designer - basically, it'll show a picture of a t-shirt in the background (you'll be able to change the color via selector), and then be able to upload an image, drag it around the t-shirt and resize it. I've found this: [URL]. But I have no clue (after looking at the JS, I'm still pretty new) how to set bounds to keep it in, or how to save/output the image it creates - that is, the uploaded image on top of the t-shirt needs to be saved as a single image and then output, probably via email. I am fairly fluent in PHP, but still pretty new to javascript. What is A, the best way to upload the user image (and give a max file-size) and B, the best way to drag/resize it around the t-shirt, but without moving it off the t-shirt image, and C, save that image then output it?
I have page here Untitled Document where when I select the drop down list value it will reassign the drag and drop function but it behave differently from this link Untitled Document where it drag and drop only on the picture and the drag image does not disappear?
I have had some experience with JavaScript. I have therefore developed a very simple slideshow. The source code for this can be seen below:
Code:
I feel this works as it should as I can move from image to image and also have it to run automatically. However, I now want the user to be able to browse an image and the image to be saved to the default directory where the other images are stored.
I currently have a script after searching online which browse's and opens the file, although this is in a new window, whereas with the slideshow the image is to be opened within the table. The browse code is shown below also:
Code:
The save function i have found only through research works in IE via the execommand. Any ideas how i could get this to work on other browsers or anthoer method of saving the image into the array?
I create an img, map, and area element dynamically. If I set the img to absolute position and set its top and left properties, they are removed as soon as I call $('map').hilight();. I can actually see the absolute position for one second, then the img element fly's over to the left side of the screen.
I have a simple page that uses ajax, php, mysql to get database entries and displays them in a table by a limited number of results.
ie. it only shows 10 entries at a time.
Anyways, as soon as I had ANY DOCTYPE to the document, the table no longer shows up in Firefox. It will how ever show up in IE8 or if I remove the DOCTYPE.
Page WITH DOCTYPE Page WITHOUT DOCTYPE
What on earth would be causing this? I have validated the page with W3C with VALID markup.
Let me start of by saying that I'm a designer, not a programmer so I'll apologize in advance for having very little knowledge of javascript.I found a free script for a auto-advancing slideshow that allows you to give each image in the slideshow a unique link. My problem is that when you click on one of the pictures the link opens in a new window instead of loading in the default browser window. I have tried to search google for an answer but my lack of javascript knowledge has left me scratching my chin.Here's the code in the head of my page:
[URL] In this link example, you will see the Facebook/Twitter share buttons on the upper, left-side. When you attempt to share this page to your Facebook friends, by default, it shows a random image on the page, when IT SHOULD be showing the post avatar of the bicycle wheel. How can we modify the script to capture this bicycle wheel avatar by default?
I am looking for a way to put all CSS values on my selected elements back to its default. I was wondering if anyone has maybe done this before and if not has any idea's to get me started.
The idea is that when I use for example:
The elements within .setDefault will return to its default font/color/height/width etc... so basically all posible values.
Dont know how to put this. In my application i had one jsp where i did some modifications in the java script function and increased the maxlength of a field.
Just these two major modifications i did.But strangely everything got screwed up the function is not being called and many other java scripts func are not being called. Many buttons are not behaving strangely. That jsp is a very big one and a part of a major colossal application so i am not pasting it.
URL..when you hover over an image, I've used .hover to fadeIn a DIV called 'zoomicon' for that image, but my problem is that when you hover one image, not only does the zoomicon for that image fade in, but all instances of zoomicon fade in, as well as fade out.how do Iseparateinstances of zoomicon to fade in and fade out for their respective image blocks?[code]
