Struts, How To Get At Bean Properties
Jul 23, 2005I want to display information on a page in a static way. That is, not
as part of text elements. I can't find an appropriate struts tag to
use.
This what I did find. The form bean will be named the same as the
"name" attribute of the <form-bean> element in the struts-config.xml.
So if I have a form bean with 2 string properties, such as str1 and
str2, I can get the values on my jsp this way:

Query Parameters At The End Of The JavaScript File
Aug 10, 2007I am starting to find more web pages that are using a query parameters
after the JavaScript file.
Example can be found at www.opensourcefood.com. Within the source
you'll see: <script src="/shared/scripts/common.js?revision=1.6"
type="text/javascript">.
I am trying to see if there is any big deal to this or a best practice
that is starting to creep up in the JavaScript community. If this is
used only as a way to distinguish what file of JavaScript being used
why not append something inside the file? Has anyone else seen this
or know of more reasons to do this?

Cached File On Aol, Can I Use Java Script Or Something.
Sep 19, 2003on a clients site, i am gettign one file that seems to be cached by aol, and i can not seem to get aol to get the new file. he dials into aol strait, and there is no company sever to worry about. so the client sees the old file and gets on my case. just wondering, is there a way to maybe put something in the file header, to make aol get the new file? it has been about 4 days. all the other files that were changed worked out okay just one is not working. i have checked the browser and tried to clear the cache in ie, and still no luck. the client dials in, so there is no company server to worry about...

If we onchange the value in the jsp then its value is reflected properly in the java file.
But my requirement is if you have onchange its coresspoging selected value should be reflected in java file else the default selected value let say English should refelected in the java class.
But unless we cannot change the select dropdown value the the default data is not reflected in java class using bean.
What piece of code i change so that deafult selected drop down value data also reflect in java class also.

Width Related Rollover Menu?
Apr 12, 2011Im not sure my subject decsription gives an exact description of what i am after but i will try and explain my requirements a bit better.I have an header menu there are items in this menu but there are a lot of them and if you try view on a normal 1024 x 760 you have to horizontal scroll to view all the items, but on my monitor 1920 x 1080 it is fine.
I don't want to do it this way since I hate having to scoll both horizontal and vertical. I would like to be able to change the items on this header to become a rollover dropdown menu when they would normally be hidden becuase of the screen width. I have seen this done before I am just unsure about how to implement this.

Updating Related Text Field Using OnChange Event
Jul 23, 2005I have a requirement in which, I need to capture a loan amount and the amount of down payment for that loan. According to the requirement, the user is going to enter enter the loan amount and then will enter the down payment in either percentage of the loan amount or an actual amount. I have designed a form to capture this information with three text fields, one each for loan amount, down payment in % and down payment in $.
So the user has the option of entering downpayment in $ or in %. If the user enter the down payment in $ then my code has to calculate the equivalent % value and populate the corresponding text field and vice versa. My question here is, what would be the best way to handle this
situation.
Shall i just use the OnChange event of the text field to handle this scenario? If I do that wont I be running into a loop?
