java.io.File. Is this object generally available in most mainstream
browsers, or do some of them lock it down?

Cached File On Aol, Can I Use Java Script Or Something.
Sep 19, 2003on a clients site, i am gettign one file that seems to be cached by aol, and i can not seem to get aol to get the new file. he dials into aol strait, and there is no company sever to worry about. so the client sees the old file and gets on my case. just wondering, is there a way to maybe put something in the file header, to make aol get the new file? it has been about 4 days. all the other files that were changed worked out okay just one is not working. i have checked the browser and tried to clear the cache in ie, and still no luck. the client dials in, so there is no company server to worry about...

Radio Button Validation - General Function ?
Sep 22, 2011I'm getting into javascript coding and i'm stumped with some problem about radio buttons. What I would like is to have a general function where I can pass in any group of radio buttons and have it return the textual value of the radio button selected.
First, here is my code so far.
Now here's a sample form:
My question is, when i run this function and pass it in the group of radio buttons by means of the onclick event handler, firefox 3.6.22 reports in the error console on line 22 that "options[index] is undefined". It seems that if i use the variable "index" more than one time it reports this error but if I take out the assignment to variable "choice" that it works just fine.
I rewrote the function using a separate variable and this time it works perfectly:
Notice the indexing variables in the "if" statement and the assignment to "choice" are different.

Apr 5, 2010On load, if a select box as the option X selected, display a specific input field.This works, because, after the validation, I go back to the previous page, and the input field is there.However, if someone selects the option X of the selectbox, the input field appears, BUT, if a refresh is made, we lost that input field.I understand this is a normal behavior since, we are on a client-side language, hence it should forget the previous state, but, what is the common workaround for dealing with this, in order to "preserve" the input field after refresh?

the <script> tag, and this works just fine. The .js files contain
info about the menu, table set up, etc. and take care of the page
format.
But now, I have a tidbit of Javascript in an htm file, and this tidbit
opens up a new window with some information on it. I want to insert
all of the menu and format javascript files on this new window that it
opens. so, my question is: how would I do this: (since this doesn't work!)

I populate the dropdown box using javascript that looks like this:

My the drop down form looks like this:

When a user clicks on the drop down box, all of the values inside "<title>" tags get displayed. Once the user has made their selection, the form is submitted and posts the user's option. My problem is that when the user clicks on the drop down box, I want them to see the content included in the "<title>" text but I want the form to post the data included in the "<xml>" tags.
For example, if the user clicks on the drop down menu and selects the option 'Animals' I want the form to post 'xml/animals.xml'. Any ideas how to handle this?
