I have not been able to do any JS because my damn books have been on order for the last 3 weeks put a script into my webpage so that when anybody visits the 'contact us' page they can leave comments.
Here's my code:
HTML:
<!DOCTYPE html "PUBLIC-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Strict//EN"
"http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml-strict.dtd">
<html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<head>
[Code].....
I know this doesn't validate but it's only a draft site until I get my books.
Here's the page, I want the comment underneath all three div's.
set up a simple Function that allows me to create a thumbnail image viewer with headings and text.
One of the variables is a Hyperlink.
It all works fine but I want the hyperlink to open as a PopUp Window, but not sure how to do it.
My Code
function LoadGallery(pictureName,imageFile,titleCaption,captionText,titleText,textText,titleJob,jobText,title Pricelist,pricelistText) { var picture = document.getElementById(pictureName);
[Code].....
but what I want is when you click on the text "Click here to see Gemma's Service Price List" (specific to Gemma of course).
.... her price list opens in a popup?
(If you want to try this Gemma is the Director with the Burgundy haircolour, top left on the page).
P.S. I am using the <div class> and id to pass the variable data through the function and display the enlarged image and relevant text and hyperlink... if that makes sense ?
I came across some embedded JavaScript code and I noticed some weird “HTML comment-like tags” within embedded JavaScript that are getting rendered in FireFox but not IE. Specifically the closing tag "//--> And the JavaScript code between these tags is functional (not commented out)!
I have several comments embedded in my website and I would like to be able to get the ID or the Jquery object refrence of the parent in which they are contained, for example, in the following code I would like to get the ID "container" just by locating the html comment as a string within the page[code]...
I was developing a site search for someone and I got it fully functioning-- the php calls on the input field with #searchField.All the user has to do is begin typing and the results appear underneath without ever having to click submit or enter/return.However, the customer was wondering if I could integrate the Wolfram Alpha Computational Search as well.So that a page visitor or user would type in the search field the results searching his site would appear below, as mentioned above; but, if one typed a query and hit enter then it would search WolframAlpha.I first made a page, here, that uses the code Wolfram Alpha's developer community was giving to developers that creates an input field and searches wolfram Alpha one hits enter. (It writes the necessary html in a messy way and includes this base.css file)Here is a screenshot of the html code that the wolframAlpha.js file writes from chrome dev tools.
After doing so, I put the code of the page I developed for my client and the above page together and what I got was two separate input fields, one that searches the site (top, but it doesn't work due because I did not attach that file as where this is located can't parse PHP) and one that searches wolfram alpha (bottom -- does work).You can see the result of the combined code here.
I want to find any <!-- --> comment tags in a page and then read the contents. I would also like to distinguish between those in the body and those elsewhere in the HTML document.What do I use to get an array of these elements?
On clicking a thumbnail I'm getting it's corresponding image through $.ajax method. So, the data I receive is in the form of html string i.e. <img src="image/1.jpg"/>. Now I wanted to append this data into a div which has an id "container". So I done this by: $('#container').hide().append(data).fadeIn('slow');
I have a function named "resize" which resizes the image according to the window size. Now when i tried this: // this code is in executed on success. $('#container').hide().append(data); resize( $('#container img') ); $('#container').fadeIn('slow');
I had to click a thumbnail twice to load the image into the container. I don't know why is it so. So, I tried a different route. I tried to apply resize function upon the <img> tag received as data and then append it to the container div.
Which I did like this: resize ($(data)) //alerting $(data).attr('src') shows the src of the image. $('#container').hide().append(data).fadeIn('slow'); The image loads but it is not re-sized. What should I do? The re-size function I'm talking about, u can see it here: [URL]. Right now, I'm calling the resize function in the callback of fadeIn method, the image fades in and then resizes, but that looks very ..... unprofessional and ugly.
I know that we can combine 2 pages into one, but i dont know what exact terms it called or say open and hide?
I have 2 pages, view.php and comment.php. inside view.php there will be a link to open comment.php. instead of doin this, i want to put the codes in one page call comment.php. i'm quiet sure that it using javascript, using id, onclick and sometimes called frames(not sure...) ?? but i dont know how to implement it. So can someone gimme any reference that i can refer to? example and solution aso can so i can get an idea on it.
I'm not sure if this is the correct forum, but here goes anyway. My QT animation has sound that goes with it and needs to be timed accurately. Anyone have any ideas what I can use and able to have it play on most browsers, mobile, etc?Just to make it a little more difficult, I need to place the animation as an overlay on top of other page elements.Flash would be a solution, but I don't want to make into flash because it won't work on iOS..This is a simple animation of stick figures and no background. If I didn't need sound I would just elect to go with a gif format which would have worked perfectly in this case.
I am driving an html site from my network drive in my office that can be viewd on LAN. I need to put a blog kind of section on my site so people who visite this site can leave there comments on it and all can see thses comments.
how to call my js function on the HTML page. This is a homework assignment and I've written the code but I just can't make it work. I can get the prompt boxes but the results don't show.
The assignment is to calculate basketball ticket prices. Each ticket has a base price. An up-charge or down-charge % is applied to the base price depending on the seat location. Courtside seats command a 20% premium upcharge Lower bowl seats have a 12% premium upcharge Inexpensive upper bowl seats cost 5% less than the stated base ticket price. If more than 8 tickets are purchased, 5% will be deducted from the total.
I have to use prompt() in my html page to prompt user for information. Then I'm to call the function to calculate the answers and build HTML to ouput.
look at what I have and offer advice as how to fix my code.
Here's my js file: function calcTotalTicketCost(baseTicketCost, totalNumberTickets){ var courtside = 0.20; var lowerbowl = 0.12;
Is it possible to execute a JS function in a website, by using the JS console? I tried to call the above function from the Firebug console to test but with no success.
I have a javascript function on my HTML page that periodically assigns content to a DIV. This I am doing with a timer (setTimeout).If under certain circumstances, display of the DIV is set to 'none' or the visibility is set to 'hidden', how does Javascript handle it?

I'm building a webpage using javascript and iframes. Basically I have an iframe in the middle of the index.html page that links to another html page (let's call it iframe.html). My question is, is it possible to call a javascript function from iframe.html to control an object on index.html? If so, how do I do this? I'd like to be able to assign an image in iframe.html with the hyperlink of href="javascript:function()", where the function effects the CSS of a div on index.html.
I have a web site which main page is index2.html I need a script that when I refresh the page it takes me to index3.html or index#.html in a random fashion. the list of index numbers is 10 so far.
I tried to load 1 html through ajax and javascript and it worked.But i want to load more than one and i cant.I thought that it would be a good idea to put the ajax files to the external websites and put the same load button.I tried this idea but it doesn work.I can only load one external website.
There's a number of javascripts available on the web to take the rss feed of a blog and display it on a website. Does anyone know of any that also provide link to add comments that will display with the feed?
I am trying to create a conditional comment scenario that is based on a web address. I am working with an ecommerce site that I want to put a nav menu promotion on all the pages except the home page. The system we are using only allows a post promotion to ALL or one specified URL.
I have tried everything I can think of to create a URL condition based comment but nothing has worked. I tried modifying the code below to change the if output to a variable comment tag and then write the variable further in the script with a document.write.
<SCRIPT LANGUAGE="JavaScript"> <!-- url=location.href if (url=="http://www.sitename.com") {alert("Welcome To sitename")} else {alert("welcome")}; // -->
