Tried searching but didn't seem to find a solid solution to my problem I'm trying to pass a value to an input form field, from a function. Here is my code
PHP Code: <script> function createDiv(sceneNum, startTime, endTime, dialog, notes)
I am in the process of making a single page website for a local radio group of roughly 20-30 members which may increase over time. They want to be able to show when they are online. The idea I had was basically to put a login field near the top of the website where they would input a "call name" and their real name, so 2 different fields. After clicking the submit button I want to populate a listable(doesn't really matter which) to show that they are "online", and once the session has ended(closed the webpage) have it remove them from the list.There doesn't need to be any security, no cached information, no cookies, and as simple as possible. How might I go about doing this?
I have created a snippet of javascript code that will do the following:
1. read the window URL 2. depending on the window URL, a word will be placed into a hidden form field. 3. Person submits form...etc., etc.
Here is what I have.
Let's say that I have a single landing page with a simple form on it. I would like to reference the referred URL by pulling a part of the window URL into a hidden field of the form. Let's say the three URLs are:
[URL]
I have created a javascript that takes the exact URL and check for equality. If the URL is equal, it will place the corresponding id into the hidden form field. See my code below.
<script type="text/javascript"> var lead_source = window.location.href { if (lead_source == "http://www.whatever.com/index.htm?id=ref1")
[Code]....
What I am looking to do is modify the code to only look at the "id" variable, not the entire URL. That way, if I add any additional items to the URL I will not have to change the code. I guess I am looking for an extra step of parsing the URL...maybe.
what i want to do is have a selection from 'tst' trigger an input into 'choose' from the data inputted into the 'fname' and 'lname' fields.
for example, i want option '1', when selected to draw the input from 'fname' and place it into 'choose'
or i might want to select the data in 'lname' instead, so i will tie option 2 to it, so when the user selects option 2 the contents of 'lname' go into 'choose' instead.
I work for a very large company that has zero communications between IT and the employees...so there is very little possibility of having any code changed.I need to use a web based system that submits orders for my department. The problem is i must order by "task number". I could have 20-30 task numbers so to complete the order I need to go to my company's page and fill out 15 form fields and submit for each task code. It is a terrible pain. 14 of the 15 fields are the same for each order... only the task code changes.
I know not one word of Javascript and wondered if there was an easy way to pre-populate a form field in a similar manner to populating an eMail 'subject' field? -
The following populates the subject field in an eMail: a href="mailto:me@anwhere.com?subject=USER ID 12345
How can I populate the first field of a form (or can I?) with the same information - i.e. the USER ID located on the HTML page calling the form?
The xml is valid and I can autocomplete on the names and it fills out the form on the screen with the names of the contact. What I need to do is add the value"" of the input so that it will go into my mysql table when I submit the form.
I'm having some issues with my code. I'm trying to pull data from one array and use it to populate a new array. With my initial array I can get the results of certain properties using 'servos[i].application'. Any servos that share their value with that of my filter box should be put into a new array called matches and allow me to referance them in a similar way 'matches[i].application'. At the minute I've got my code to populate the new matches array, i'm pretty sure, but when I try to get data out of the second array using the 'matches[i].application' style of query it says its undefined. I already have an array called servos which is full of 49 different servo objects. I've added the function containing this code and commented it too.
PHP Code: function dataPull(){ //create servoStore to build page for display //var servoStore=""; // search and get servos meeting application filter settings // create new array called matches with set properties var matches = new Array("application", "sclass", "type", "motor", "bearings", "gears", "modelno", "name", "speed", "v3_3", "v4_8", "v6_0", "v7_2", "weight", "dimensions", "opvoltage", "image", "description"); .....
I have a form where a user may select a box from above which will query the database and autofill in the fields. This works properly for all of my input text fields but I have a select box where a user selects their state that I am unable to get to properly populate.
The select box is populated on page load in the following format....
Everything populates correctly except where I try to set the val on the state select field. It does not change at all. I need it to display the statename with the value of the state (number).
Is there some example js that shows how to populate a text field on a form, based upon what option is chosen in a select form field? The options can be hardcoded and it would be great to also have a default if js is off on the client side.code...
I would like to set up an image gallery so that when customer clicks on their chosen image, the image caption populates into the associated field in the form below the gallery, on the same page.
I am not really a coder, I only know this and that
I have an input field where the user will type in their name and a number, and this is then output (in real time) in another 2 input fields as they type them.
I am trying to animate the output text, so when the user types in their name, the letters fadeIn (quickly so it seems like they're flashing in) rather than just appearing.
The code I have for this at the moment is as follows (the bits in bold is what I would like to animate).
I am having some issues with a form that has "name" "email" "address" text field the a comment section that has been pre filled with the followingI <name> of <address> blah blah blah blah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahblah blah blahSigned<name><address>Now my question is how do i get the form (made in html) pull what the user types in the text field and make it get added to the comment section of the form where the <name> <address> is required.Once filled out it is emailed to me.
I'm using Google Maps to calculate distance between cities. I need to use that distance value for some basic calculations. Distance has to be in "Angloamerican" format (1,234.00) but in metric system. So, Google Maps answer for Madrid - Berlin query will be one of these two:
a) <span jscontent="distance['text']" jsdisplay="distance" jstcache="7">2.320,1 km</span> b) <span jscontent="distance.text" jstcache="23">2.320,1 km</span>
notice the differences in span "classes" (jstcache is 7 or 23) and lack of any "id" or "name" attributes.
What I want to accomplish is:
1) Convert these Google Maps distance values to "Angloamerican" format (2,320 km) or (even better) format without thousands separator which would only use dots as decimal separator (2320.1 km)
2) Use that filtered value to populate a text field called distance
Populate hidden form element value with the value of a text field on form submit (jQuery)
It helped me a bit with the auto-populate part, but I can't make it work in combination with this Google Maps code. Here is my current code:
<head> ... <script type="text/javascript"> function submitMyForm(){
So I am trying to validate many input fields inside a form before I send it off to mysql.
The page link is: [URL]
I am 99% sure it a JavaScript issue and I am a beginner with JS. My JS code is as follows:
function validate(form) { //Pull values from form var email = form.user_email.value; var confEmail = form.conf_email.value;
[Code]....
I'm trying to change the color of the labels according to what input field is wrong. It seems to loop through and keep my labels black. It shows the email red for a millisecond though.
I've have a function to take the value entered in a form text box, add 50 to it and put the result in another text box.
When I enter 650.5 I get 700.5 exactly how I'd expect. But when I enter -650.5 instead of getting -600.5 I get -650.050 as though it is failing to parse the float due to it being negative. My understanding of parseFloat was that it recognises negative numbers. Is there a nice simple way to get this to work?
I need to pass user input from a form to one database field. I'm relatively new to JS but the idea I had was to have several form elements and use JS to collect the users input and send all the values through a hidden element. What's happening is the variable names are being sent rather than the values. The code below is only passing to the next page. Limitations: I am editing an intranet site built by a 3rd party so a lot of the files we've been given are encrypted. I cannot change the method to post.
I'm trying to use AJaX to populate the third input in the same row as the second input based upon a separate db query. Here's the code for that:
Code:
<script type="text/javascript"> function loadXMLDoc(v,n) { if (window.XMLHttpRequest) {// code for IE7+, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari
[code]...
Here's where it displays on the page<cfoutput>#trim(getITRRSP.[columnName])#</cfoutput> Whenever the focus blurs from those inputs, the third column in that row is populated with "UNKNOWN" as the value. I have confirmed that the getITRRSP.cfm file is properly retrieving and displaying the data from the db query.
