I work for a very large company that has zero communications between IT and the employees...so there is very little possibility of having any code changed.I need to use a web based system that submits orders for my department. The problem is i must order by "task number". I could have 20-30 task numbers so to complete the order I need to go to my company's page and fill out 15 form fields and submit for each task code. It is a terrible pain. 14 of the 15 fields are the same for each order... only the task code changes.
I have a small script which runs when the acrobat document opens and populates a field with the date, but I would like the date to be filled when the document is first opened, then saved with that date.
I know not one word of Javascript and wondered if there was an easy way to pre-populate a form field in a similar manner to populating an eMail 'subject' field? -
The following populates the subject field in an eMail: a href="mailto:me@anwhere.com?subject=USER ID 12345
How can I populate the first field of a form (or can I?) with the same information - i.e. the USER ID located on the HTML page calling the form?
The xml is valid and I can autocomplete on the names and it fills out the form on the screen with the names of the contact. What I need to do is add the value"" of the input so that it will go into my mysql table when I submit the form.
I have a form where a user may select a box from above which will query the database and autofill in the fields. This works properly for all of my input text fields but I have a select box where a user selects their state that I am unable to get to properly populate.
The select box is populated on page load in the following format....
Everything populates correctly except where I try to set the val on the state select field. It does not change at all. I need it to display the statename with the value of the state (number).
Is there some example js that shows how to populate a text field on a form, based upon what option is chosen in a select form field? The options can be hardcoded and it would be great to also have a default if js is off on the client side.code...
I would like to set up an image gallery so that when customer clicks on their chosen image, the image caption populates into the associated field in the form below the gallery, on the same page.
I am not really a coder, I only know this and that
Tried searching but didn't seem to find a solid solution to my problem I'm trying to pass a value to an input form field, from a function. Here is my code
PHP Code: <script> function createDiv(sceneNum, startTime, endTime, dialog, notes)
I have a site for property bookings with 2 calendars to enter start and end date. The calendar im using doesnt have any obvious facility to copy yhe date to 2 fields so each one has to be done, months in advance this can be a real pain.
Does anyone have any ideas how i can take the data inserted into one field and copy it to the second?
I am having some trouble with my code in that I am trying to take the value from the date of birth field and check to see if over 18 years old. I they are not over 18, a window.alert dialog box pops up to tell them. Below is the check if 18 validation.
Script section in the document head:
//check if over 18 function overAge(){ var age;
[code]....
Code for body section:
Date of Birth: <br/> <input type = "text" name = "date" value = "(mm/dd/yyyy)"/>
I'm using Google Maps to calculate distance between cities. I need to use that distance value for some basic calculations. Distance has to be in "Angloamerican" format (1,234.00) but in metric system. So, Google Maps answer for Madrid - Berlin query will be one of these two:
a) <span jscontent="distance['text']" jsdisplay="distance" jstcache="7">2.320,1 km</span> b) <span jscontent="distance.text" jstcache="23">2.320,1 km</span>
notice the differences in span "classes" (jstcache is 7 or 23) and lack of any "id" or "name" attributes.
What I want to accomplish is:
1) Convert these Google Maps distance values to "Angloamerican" format (2,320 km) or (even better) format without thousands separator which would only use dots as decimal separator (2320.1 km)
2) Use that filtered value to populate a text field called distance
Populate hidden form element value with the value of a text field on form submit (jQuery)
It helped me a bit with the auto-populate part, but I can't make it work in combination with this Google Maps code. Here is my current code:
<head> ... <script type="text/javascript"> function submitMyForm(){
I have a form where we are capturing the Members Children information. I want to insert age in years to a field within this table by calculating age from Date of Birth (DOB). DOB format is mm/dd/yyyy and is a datetime data type in SQL. The DOB is added by the member while registering their child. Is there an onchange script that I could use here.
Is it possible to auto populate a field from an other field within the same form? Does anyone have any code samples that I could use?
sample code, whereby if I change a field value in a web form (from a drop-down list for example), the value shown in another field is automatically updated to show the needed value for that selected option?
I have a list of elements and I would like to add a class (.event_deleted) to some of them on behalf of the users choice. The goal is to mark with a strikethrough the elements of the list the user selects by clicking an icon I display besides each element.
I want to create a javascript function where I have a dropdown list and onChage I want to update a txt field with the current date in the dd/mm/yyyy format.
I was wondering if there was a way to view the html code that javascript produced since viewing the source code shows the javascript if statements for netcrape and IE etc.
JavaScript learner, first time poster. When I grow up, I want to be a JS guru. In the meantime, if I had hair, I'd have pulled it out yesterday. I've been working for a few days now, trying different techniques to perform what I think should be a simple function. Here's the situation:
I have an HTML page:[URL]... ...which calls a function in a JS file on another server [URL].. which I did not write, nor can I change. The JS file determines the date and time, checks it against a list of conditions, then displays one of two gifs indicating whether or not an online help person is expected to be online, based on the date and time.
The list of conditions in the JS changes from time to time (holidays), so I want to continue calling the JS but the problem is the graphic it references does not fit into our available space for it. The function within the JS:
I want to add an event to a generated SELECT field. It's an onChange call to a function named calculateSubtotal(). The result I want would look like <select name="..." id="..." onChange="calculateSubtotal()">.
This is what I've got so far. The drop menu is created with no error, but no onChange either. Code:
