I know that this is partially a PHP code, however; the portion that I need help with is Javascript so I decided to put it in the javascript category. This code takes the text contained in $code5 and puts it in a .js file. The problem is that when the text in $code5 is placed in the .js file, the backslashes () before the quotes (") are deleted. I need these backslashes to remain when the code is placed in the . js file. I tried adding a second backslash next to each backslah to see if that would work, but it didn't.
I would expect it to show "2" but instead it shows "0". Why?
It seems the find() method doesn't work on the newly created elements. Do traversing methods only work on elements that are actually in the document? If so, how can I traverse and manipulate freshly created elements prior to inserting them into the dom?
I am trying to dynamically create child elements and add a background image before appending it to the parent node. Everything is working except for the image files actually appearing. When you inspect the element in Mozilla, it reveals that the li elements have all been created and attached, and even contain the "style" attribute. I am certain it is my reference to the image array that I am not calling correctly... how to use the array to reference the new background image? external js file:
There must be a standard way of getting the body of an iframe, and adding content to it, using jQuery. what the "best practice" way is? That works in all browsers?
When I create a new div and insert it with .append(ndiv) to an existing div ndiv.width() returns the width of the parent div instead of the actual value. This is the same in FF4 and IE9 so I suppose this is a regular behavior and I just don't realize how to deal with it.
Am creating a dynamic text box along with datepicker image.. when I enter newdate into the text box, it simply goes to previous textbox and updating the textfield. How to enter the date into the newly created text box??? And also once I complete the first row data , that row should be disabled.
I've spent the last two hours trying every other solution listed, to no avail: this works, so I'm sharing it for the other folks who couldn't find a solution other than switching to another language.
var fileString = "mydevfolderfolder2folder3file.txt";
var myPat = /%5C/g; //this is using regular expression to define the escaped version of a backslash
I am building a stand alone help file system (.chm) I have a script for popups that I intend to re-use through-out. The code works fine when the script is above the <head> tag in the html document.
However, I have been unable to get the page to load if I just link to the script. It seems that the script link needs to be placed in different locations dependsing on what you are doing. Any insight?
Two quick posts in my first hour of joining this site -- from what I see it's a great resource, so I'll throw out another question I have.I was looking in the firebug debugger and noticed that my main .js file was somehow being called twice, but I don't see where. There are dozens of files involved in this particular problem, so I think the best way to go about solving it is to test - in run time - if my js file is already in place on the page, do nothing - otherwise call it. This is pseudo that I have monkeying around with but it's not working.
Code: function checkFile() { var fileExist = new fileExist();
Is it possible using some kind of Script to get text/pictures/symbols from typed text and from a gif. file (already on the web site) to show on another place in the web site by clicking on a button.My coding is like this:
By pressing "Show" I want the text typed in the form to show on the same site, and then the user should have the opportunity to also place a symbol (the gif. file) the same way as the text and to be viewed on the same site too.
I am Lakshmi.Research scholar.I have a doubt in the usage of cookies in javascript.Normally in order to extract the cookie value we have to specify the corresponding cookie name.But I need automatic extraction.If i give a php file in which the cookies are created using javascript,all the cookies in that file should be extracted.Is it possible?
I use a Time Date Picker Javascript code [URL]. It works fine with a placement problem. When you click one of the last pair input fields on the page, a drop-down list will appear from the input field. In my case, the drop-down list shows on the bottom of a page instead. I can't find the code controls the location of the list.
I just started with jQuery and AJAX so I'm hoping that I'm just missing something obvious. I have a comment field and I have already finished all the functionality of allowing users to add comments to the page using an AJAX form.
The problem that I have is that the comment <div> itself has some rollover properties for edit/delete so that those links only appear when the mouse enters the comment div. For whatever reason, they only appear on comments that existed on the page load. Any comments that are added while on the page aren't accessible to jQuery until I reload the page. Is that normal behavior?
Problem: I have 10 links on my webpage which opens different media files. When I embed all those media files my webpage takes too much time to load.
My requirement: To overcome this what I need is I will place 10 different hypertexts (images), which when clicked will open another page (Play_Chord.html) in which the media file will be played. Opening a window on click is easy but where I am stuck is I need to pass the value (media file name) to the new window (which will open) so that it can play that media file.
My Code (Main.html)
<html> <head> <script language="javascript"> function OpenPlayer(File_Name) {
Jquery 1.52, IE7,IE8,FireFox4.0. I really confused for this: HTML as follows: <table><tr><td> </td></tr></table> javascript as follows: $("table tr").append("<td>> </td>"); $("table td").mouseover(function)({ alert($(this).index()); }); When mouseover the first "td", it OK, but mouseover the newly added "td", nothing happened.
I am using quicksand, i want to use tool tips in it, but i am facing problem due to callback code that i am not able to implement, this is the place where quicksand is present and also told about tooltips usage with it, well he has not explained it in detail as expects people to know jquery before using it. http:razorjack.net...-and-demos.html
the code which is saying to use is this [code]...
i don't know where to place this code and how as i don't know jquery, and if this code is to be place in tooltips script then where to place in it and how, e-g i might use this one[code]...

If its not possible with the above tooltip then i am ready to use any tooltip which can display picture in it.
I dynamically generated some buttons, textboxes, radio (input types) etc using createElement method. The generation works fine. I append the newly generated input types to a span placed in the body. I want to make these draggable. I tried several ways of making the inputs draggable but none work. How do I make them draggable?
