My problem is that my site has a fixed element in the right side but when looking at the site from a HI-resolution device like TV or something, the element moves about 1000px to right. I want it to scroll down when I scroll the site down. But I want it to stay in the same place on x line.angsti.net if you need more information.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm setting up a web page and think jQuery will be able to sort this out for me.
I have an unordered list (5 items so far, but a few more may need to be added). On clicking on any of the items I need three things to happen on the page:
1. place a picture into a div
2. place a caption into another div
3. place a title into a third div
Clicking on a second item needs to hide these and show that item's related three bits.
So, is jQuery/javascript my best tool, how I can achieve it?
I use a Time Date Picker Javascript code [URL]. It works fine with a placement problem. When you click one of the last pair input fields on the page, a drop-down list will appear from the input field. In my case, the drop-down list shows on the bottom of a page instead. I can't find the code controls the location of the list.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am new to javascript, and am having an issue, which I'm sure is elementary.. I found a script for expandable content, it suffices fine. As it stands, the script toggles images onclick. For example, whence the menu is collapsed, it displays "plus.gif" next to it, and when the menu is expanded, it displays "minus.gif" next to it.
Basically, what I would like to know is, thus: how would I change it to display text icons next to it? For example, in place of "plus.gif" I should like it to display "+" as actual text. I've dredged a number of places, however, I've found nothing. Furthermore, I cannot figure out how to do it.

I don't know any Javascript except for using image rollovers with the help of Photoshop and ImageReady, so please excuse my n00b knowledge.
I am looking for a tutorial that, when you cross over an image on one part of the page, text appears on another part of the page (e.g. describing that button).
Is it possible to place links in a text area box? I tried the below but it doesn't work but how can it be done.
<textarea rows="2" name="S1" cols="20">
<a href="http://yahoo.com">Yahoo</a><br>
<a href="http://google.com">Google</a>
I have a text input on a particular page with the option for the user to type in a four-digit year. Let's say 1981 for example.
When the user clicks submit or enter, I don't want anything submitted, but rather javascript taking the user to url: http://www.mysite.com/year/1981
How can I do this?
Is it possible using some kind of Script to get text/pictures/symbols from typed text and from a gif. file (already on the web site) to show on another place in the web site by clicking on a button.My coding is like this:
<!--
<h4><strong>First line</strong></h4>
<form action="MAILTO:someone@someone.com" method="post" enctype="text/plain">[code]....
By pressing "Show" I want the text typed in the form to show on the same site, and then the user should have the opportunity to also place a symbol (the gif. file) the same way as the text and to be viewed on the same site too.
I want function to present something.png instead of the text for Good Morning etc.if (houris >17) display =gm.png;in this fashion.Also IE8 reports "clientside is undefined" as an error message, occasionally.My javascript knowledge is still rudimentary.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a form with several different text boxes for things like dates,
numbers, etc. arranged in a table, each row has the same kind of text
boxes for data entry (10 rows probably).
I want to have a separate section above the form where I can toggle a
div containing an appropriate error message to appear after the
onchange event fires for the text box.
The thing is, I want all the divs with their different text messages to
appear in the same place and disappear from the same place above the
form instead of different places on the form or web page.
Well, they don't have to be multiple divs, but there are multiple
different error messages that should appear depending where the user is
typing...
Example: 'wrong format,' 'month must be between 1 and 12,' etc. Of
course the messages will be nicer than this.
i have a function in javascript. when someone clicks on a link the text in a
layer changes.
i want breaks in the text, in html you would use '<br><br>'.
i tried this in the variable that contains the text but it does not work.
so my question is: how do i get these breaks in the text, so that the text
looks good in the layer?. Code:
Is there a way to put the focus on a DIV. Let's say I have several DIV's on a long page. I would like to move the focus to any DIV.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am building a stand alone help file system (.chm) I have a script for
popups that I intend to re-use through-out. The code works fine when the
script is above the <head> tag in the html document.
However, I have been unable to get the page to load if I just link to the
script. It seems that the script link needs to be placed in different
locations dependsing on what you are doing. Any insight?
This works fine in netscape but IE won't do it. I have a div which contains
some links and a thumbnail. What's supposed to happen is when you click the
thumbnail the links disapear and the now invisible div is resized moving
everything below it. In IE it only resizes as small as the size of the dive
plus the size of the links. Code:
I am looking out for something on div appending
Code:
<div id="div2">
<input type="text" id="tbox" />
<div>Some text goes here</div>
<div>Some text goes here</div>
<div>Some text goes here</div>
</div>
I wants to create new div on the fly and append it at the bottom of textbox and above those "Some text goes here" divs. I know how to append, I tired that one. But it appends below those "Some text goes here" divs. I wanted above them and below text box.
We have the function detailed below which controls some image in our website. However, one of the images we would like to place an imagemap in the top corner but after all of our attempts the javascript below seem to stop the imagemaps from working.

I have 3 div tags that I am working with, out of which on click of Radiobutton based on this button only one div tag should be shown on the webpage. I am successful in achieving that but my problem is that these div elements are showing up in different places of the page. How I can make these div tags replace each other at the same place.
Please find below the code I am using.
<div id="totalTable">
<table border="0" cellspacing="0">
<tbody>
<tr class="first">
<th width="351">Regulatory Limits</th>
<td id="regLimitLamp" width="70">100</td> .....
Functions as below:
function radioonload(){
document.getElementById("totalTable").disabled = false;
document.getElementById("totalTable").style.visibility = "visible";
document.getElementById("totalTable11").disabled = true;
document.getElementById("totalTable11").style.visibility = "hidden";
document.getElementById("totalTable22").disabled = true;
document.getElementById("totalTable22").style.visibility = "hidden";

I have the following code:
'<div class="Comment">' +
$.each(post.Comments, function (i, comment) {
document.write(comment.Description);
}) + '</div>'
);
The document.write() is not working, it erase all the content of my page in fact. What I want is just write the HTML contained in 'comment.Description' for each iteration (comment.Description contains a DIV with multiple elements in it!)
I have a small function which is not entirely correct. Although it produces correct results, syntactically it's wrong. Here's the function, then I'll explain.
function displayLabelErrors(selector) {
$(selector).each(function () {
var valError = false;
$('.validation-error', this
).each(function () {
if (!$(this).attr("isvalid")) {
valError = true;
}});
$(this).toggleClass('input-error', valError);
});}
The var 'selector' is an ID and can therefore only ever be 1 object. The foreach in blue isn't required and the red 'this' (context) should be the selector. The issue I have is when I remove the loop, I'm struggling to understand how the var selector fits in the place of 'this'. I've tried a few different ways and still failing.
I know that I can retrieve the values from a single object and place them in a <ul> with the following code :
$('document').ready(function(){
var employees = {
name: 'Mary Brown',
