View 1 RepliesIsn't it possible to place a text at a fixed place on a picture with javascript ?
The text will be AJAX updated...
I use a Time Date Picker Javascript code [URL]. It works fine with a placement problem. When you click one of the last pair input fields on the page, a drop-down list will appear from the input field. In my case, the drop-down list shows on the bottom of a page instead. I can't find the code controls the location of the list.

The functions I've implemented so far work perfectly on Firefox, Internet Explorer and other browsers. However, the iPad itself responds a bit different. After a certain action, I want to put focus on a textfield with the help of Javascript. Again, this works perfectly with the normal browser, the iPad browser however seems to be blocking the focus. The reason I'm not posting any code is because it's basically irrelevant. All I do is:

Is there a reason why setting focus to a textbox input, also gives
focus to a submit button on the page, to where if you click enter in
the text box, the submit button will be clicked.
The default behaviour of focus() method is displaying the cursor at start of the char(In FF focusOffset is 0(zero) and anchorOffset is 0(zero)). I need to display the focus at end of char after calling focus() method.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI think the problem is cause by my lack of understanding of how the browser (firefox 3.6.3) handles focus.A simplified version of my problem is:I've defined the function
function two_focus()
{
document.getElementById("two").blur();

Is there a way to set the focus on a form field without using focus()? I use ajax to build the form and if I try to set the focus using focus() an error is generate because of the form hasn't been built by ajax. So, it would be nice if I could set the focus() as I built the form.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm attaching an onfocus event handler to an anchor tag like this:
if(window.attachEvent) anchor_node.attachEvent('onfocus', gotFocus);
if(window.addEventListener) anchor_node.addEventListener('focus',
gotFocus, false);
function gotFocus() {
alert('i got focus');
}
Is there any way to tell the difference between when this anchor is
focused by a user (perhaps by tabbing to it) as opposed to when I
programatically do it via anchor_node.focus()?
When a website is loaded, is there anyway of using Javascript to get the address bar focus and delete the contents?
I'm not sure if there would be restrictions on doing this because of security reasons
i have a function in javascript. when someone clicks on a link the text in a
layer changes.
i want breaks in the text, in html you would use '<br><br>'.
i tried this in the variable that contains the text but it does not work.
so my question is: how do i get these breaks in the text, so that the text
looks good in the layer?. Code:
I am building a stand alone help file system (.chm) I have a script for
popups that I intend to re-use through-out. The code works fine when the
script is above the <head> tag in the html document.
However, I have been unable to get the page to load if I just link to the
script. It seems that the script link needs to be placed in different
locations dependsing on what you are doing. Any insight?
This works fine in netscape but IE won't do it. I have a div which contains
some links and a thumbnail. What's supposed to happen is when you click the
thumbnail the links disapear and the now invisible div is resized moving
everything below it. In IE it only resizes as small as the size of the dive
plus the size of the links. Code:
Javascript is my very weakest, and i'm not all that good..I need to adapt this (already working) code to add the text where the cursor is within the textarea.Like i say, the above code works fine, its just now to get it place where the cursor is within the box.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am looking out for something on div appending
Code:
<div id="div2">
<input type="text" id="tbox" />
<div>Some text goes here</div>
<div>Some text goes here</div>
<div>Some text goes here</div>
</div>
I wants to create new div on the fly and append it at the bottom of textbox and above those "Some text goes here" divs. I know how to append, I tired that one. But it appends below those "Some text goes here" divs. I wanted above them and below text box.
We have the function detailed below which controls some image in our website. However, one of the images we would like to place an imagemap in the top corner but after all of our attempts the javascript below seem to stop the imagemaps from working.

I have 3 div tags that I am working with, out of which on click of Radiobutton based on this button only one div tag should be shown on the webpage. I am successful in achieving that but my problem is that these div elements are showing up in different places of the page. How I can make these div tags replace each other at the same place.
Please find below the code I am using.
<div id="totalTable">
<table border="0" cellspacing="0">
<tbody>
<tr class="first">
<th width="351">Regulatory Limits</th>
<td id="regLimitLamp" width="70">100</td> .....
Functions as below:
function radioonload(){
document.getElementById("totalTable").disabled = false;
document.getElementById("totalTable").style.visibility = "visible";
document.getElementById("totalTable11").disabled = true;
document.getElementById("totalTable11").style.visibility = "hidden";
document.getElementById("totalTable22").disabled = true;
document.getElementById("totalTable22").style.visibility = "hidden";
}function radioCheck(radiovalue){ .....
I have the following code:
'<div class="Comment">' +
$.each(post.Comments, function (i, comment) {
document.write(comment.Description);
}) + '</div>'
);
The document.write() is not working, it erase all the content of my page in fact. What I want is just write the HTML contained in 'comment.Description' for each iteration (comment.Description contains a DIV with multiple elements in it!)
I have a small function which is not entirely correct. Although it produces correct results, syntactically it's wrong. Here's the function, then I'll explain.
function displayLabelErrors(selector) {
$(selector).each(function () {
var valError = false;
$('.validation-error', this
).each(function () {
if (!$(this).attr("isvalid")) {
valError = true;
}});
$(this).toggleClass('input-error', valError);
});}
The var 'selector' is an ID and can therefore only ever be 1 object. The foreach in blue isn't required and the red 'this' (context) should be the selector. The issue I have is when I remove the loop, I'm struggling to understand how the var selector fits in the place of 'this'. I've tried a few different ways and still failing.
I know that I can retrieve the values from a single object and place them in a <ul> with the following code :
$('document').ready(function(){
var employees = {
name: 'Mary Brown',

I was wondering: You know how you're able to left-click and hold the mouse-button down on a image and then drag it around? Everybody must know that; Is there a way to "lock" the picture, so that isn't possible? I'm not talking about removing the right-click features, like saving the picture, etc. I just want the users not to be able to drag it all over the place - like a background for example. In HTML, of course
View 14 Replies View RelatedIf this issue is a JavaScript syntax issue, then I just know you'll spot it.
Context: swfObject2 dynamic embedding.. so the swf object is not written into the code that's sent to the browser. (The swf is there on the resulting page in the browser; doing it's thang just dandy and waiting for further instruction from user action). Function in swf "functInSWF" registered using ExternalInterface.callback(); (I'm working in AS2).
So... javascript:
Code:
The message I'm getting in the debugger is: "TypeError: Result of expression 'thisMovie("someSWF").functInSWF' [undefined] is not a function"... so I'm presuming nothing is being sent to the swf and therefore this is a JavaScript issue I need to track down.
I've tried (what's not recommended) getElementById with the same result.
I've got a div with an id of messages - It is essentially a chat system however chat usually adds messages to the bottom of a list which means the messages do not get pushed down while you are reading them. This system instead adds the messages to the top. I need a way of finding the current scroll position so that when a new message is added the scroll remains in the same place.
